An Exclusive Look Inside Brooke Hyland's "Romantic" Florida Wedding
Brooke Hyland and her husband Brian Thalman are married, and The Knot has an exclusive first look inside the highly anticipated wedding. The Dance Moms alum exchanged vows on February 21, 2026, at La Casa Toscana in Fort Myers, Florida. The "romantic" nuptials took place in front of nearly 160 guests, including the bride's mom, Kelly Hyland, and sister, Paige Hyland, who also appeared on the Lifetime show. Designed by Birch Events, the winter wedding featured pops of blue (a nod to the traditional "something blue") alongside influences from the tropical locale. "They took my inspiration, and my dream wedding happened," Hyland tells us. Read on for more photos and details from Brooke Hyland's wedding.
Inside Brian Thalman and Brooke Hyland's Wedding
Brooke Hyland's wedding took place nearly two years after her engagement to Brian Thalman. While the proposal occurred at a park in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Hyland says she wanted to venture elsewhere for her nuptials. "I've been coming to Marco Island and Naples my entire life," she says. "My grandparents and my mom live there. It has a very special place in my heart."
While she was scrolling on social media, she came across a video from La Casa Toscana, a Tuscan villa that touted Italian vibes without international travel. When Hyland discovered the venue was just 30 minutes away from her mother's house, she had a feeling it was the one. "We looked at a few other venues, but nothing compared," she says. "We knew it was perfect for us."
About 160 loved ones traveled to Florida for the wedding weekend, including Hyland's Dance Moms friends Kalani Hilliker, Kendall Vertes, Chloe Lukasiak, Nia Sioux and Mackenzie Ziegler. (Maddie Ziegler was filming a movie and unable to attend.) "We all live in different places, so we don't get to see each other as much as we would all like to," Hyland says. "My bridal festivities have given us a reason to get all together." Even the moms—Jill Vertes, Christi Lukasiak and Holly Frazier—have been included throughout the wedding journey. "Melissa [Gisoni, Maddie and Mackenzie Zieger's mom] went ring shopping with me even before the proposal happened," Hyland continues. "It's been nice having us all get together."
But no one was quite as involved as the bride's sister, who served as a sounding board for every wedding planning decision. "She's been my rock," Hyland says. "Every outfit I've looked at, any piece of signage I've considered, anything I've done for this wedding, she's seen it and approved it."
When it came to the attire, Hyland was sure she wanted a voluminous dress with a full skirt. In order to share her initial wedding dress shopping experience with her mom, her sister and her future mother-in-law, she had her first appointment at Bridal Beginning in Pittsburgh. Her top contender stayed in her mind, even as she shopped in Los Angeles and attended New York Bridal Fashion Week.
But on the day she returned to Bridal Beginning to buy it, a consultant suggested she try one more dress: a strapless mermaid silhouette from Ines Di Santo. "I was looking at it on the hanger, and thought, 'No,'" she recalls—but the stylist was onto something. "I ended up putting it on and saying yes right away," Hyland says.
She accessorized with a sentimental headpiece: her mother's veil. "I wanted to incorporate something of hers, and when I saw the veil, it was perfect," she says. "I'm very happy to have a piece of my mom's wedding day on mine."
One the morning of the wedding, Hyland and Thalman shared a first look before the ceremony began. To personalize the service, they asked the bride's aunt, Carrie Matarazzo, to serve as the officiant. "We wanted it to be someone who knew us, and she's like a motherly figure to me and Brian," she says. "We wanted to include her in a special way."
After they were pronounced husband and wife, the evening transitioned into cocktail hour. Guests dined on passed appetizers, including mini lobster rolls, bacon-wrapped scallops and mini grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup shooters. Their most anticipated dish was a grazing table with charcuterie and sushi. "Brian was pretty 'go-with-the-flow' through this whole process, but the one thing he wanted was a sushi table at our wedding," she says. To keep guests cool in the warm Florida climate, the signature drink was a refreshing cucumber margarita.
The newlyweds shared their first dance to "The One" by Matt Johnson—and while they didn't have a choreographed routine, they did take lessons ahead of time. "We have quite a height difference," Hyland says. "Obviously, I have a dance background, but he does not. I wanted us to learn how to not step on each other."
Although they only did one session, she says it was well-worth it. "I made it one of his Christmas gifts, and we were really happy that we ended up doing it," she says. "It was a fun date night, and I would recommend any couple to do it."
Longtime Dance Moms fans may have also noticed one viral moment that took over social media: the crowd danced to "Summer Love Song," a single the bride recorded in 2012 while filming season two of the reality series. Before the reception came to an end, guests dined on late-night snacks and sweet treats from a gelato cart. The party continued on the rooftop bar of the couple's hotel before the pair officially bid adieu to their engaged era. "I thought two years was a long time, but now that we're here, I don't want it to be over," she says.
Looking ahead, the couple will kick off married life by moving into a new home, where they'll embark on their next chapter together: "We just want to travel and enjoy life, just the two of us…and our dog."
