Keep the good times flowing by hosting your nearest and dearest post-reception celebration and be sure to play some top after-party songs. The post-reception hang typically takes place once a majority of your wedding guests have left for the evening (think: after the band or DJ has played their last song).

You and your new spouse may be considering hosting an after-party for your closest friends following your reception. What's more, the after-party affords you the opportunity to truly unwind and let loose with your loved ones. However, a solid after-party playlist is key when it comes to keeping everyone out on the dance floor.

Be sure to fill your after-party playlist with popular dance tracks. These can include everything from '80s classics to more modern bops. Next, after you've finalized your after-party playlist, be sure to forward the request(s) to your wedding band or DJ—or whichever one of your friends is in charge of the tunes that night—so that they can add your song preferences into their playlist or lineup.

So, whether you prefer nostalgia-inducing hits from Outkast or Usher, or more contemporary favorites like The Weeknd or Ariana Grande, we've got you covered: Keep reading for 19 must-have songs for your after-party playlist.

"After Party," Don Toliver

Lyrics you'll love: "Came in with a bottle, I was trippin'/And I took a couple shots and now I'm dizzy/It got me burning up, burning up"

Don Toliver's "After Party" stems from the 2020 hip-hop and R&B album Heaven or Hell. The song, which was produced by Sonny Digital, features horn instrumentals that pair surprisingly well with the dance-worthy beat. Plus, the lyrics are sure to entice you enough to get back out on the dance floor.

"Don't Stop The Music," Rihanna

Lyrics you'll love: "I wanna take you away/Let's escape into the music/DJ, let it play/I just can't refuse it/Like the way you do this/Keep on rockin' to it/Please don't stop the, please don't stop the music"

You heard Rihanna, folks: Don't stop the music. Instead, enjoy it and dance the night away to this iconic song, which is especially famous for its upbeat rhythm and hip-hop elements.

"Hey Ya!" Outkast

Lyrics you'll love: "Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it/Shake it like a Polaroid picture! Hey ya!"

Rewind back to '03 by playing Outkast's "Hey Ya!" at your after-party, which will have you out there on the dance floor, shaking it like a Polaroid picture. And remember, the only thing cooler than being cool? Ice cold. (And you, of course.)

"Just Dance," Lady Gaga

Lyrics you'll love: "I love this record, baby, but I can't see straight anymore (woo!)/Keep it cool, what's the name of this club?/I can't remember but it's alright, a-alright/Just dance, gonna be okay"

"Just Dance" first put Lady Gaga on the map in 2008. Now, nearly 15 years later, the dance-pop hit—best known for its catchy chorus—is still a popular choice for clubs, after-parties and wedding receptions alike.

"Give Me Everything," Pitbull (Feat. Ne-Yo)

Lyrics you'll love: "Took my life from negative to positive/And I just want y'all know that/And tonight, let's enjoy life"

"TiK ToK," Kesha

Lyrics you'll love: "Don't stop, make it pop/DJ, blow my speakers up/Tonight, I'm a fight/'Til we/see the sunlight/Tick-tock on the clock/But the party don't stop, no"

"I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)," Whitney Houston"

Lyrics you'll love: "Oh, I wanna dance with somebody/I wanna feel the heat with somebody"

If you prefer more old-school vibes, ask your band or DJ to play "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" at your after-party. The now-iconic pop song, which dates back to 1987, shows off Whitney Houston's wide vocal range. Singing along to the lyrics is most definitely encouraged.

"Get Lucky," Daft Punk (feat. Pharrell)

Considering some electronic music for your after-party playlist? Look no further than Daft Punk and Pharrell's "Get Lucky." The 2013 single incorporates house, pop, disco and funk genres. The sexually-explicit lyrics may not be the most appropriate for your wedding reception, but the song makes an excellent after-party dance number.

Lyrics you'll love: "Stronger than ever can't hold me down/A hundred miles feelin' from the picture smile"

Let the good vibes flow freely by streaming "Good Feeling" by Flo Rida at your after-party. The clubby number—with its energetic lyrics, fast-paced beat and all-around feel-good vibe—is especially ideal for dancing.

Featuring real husband-and-wife duo Beyonce and Jay-Z (talk about couple goals!), "Drunk In Love" was released in 2003. Many fans and critics consider it a follow-up to the couple's 2003 "Crazy in Love." The chart-topping tune features elements of hip-hop and rap. The sultry lyrics—riddled with double entendres—make the song best suited for an after-party as opposed to a wedding reception.
