ful in planning and had great ideas to turn our day into a beautiful, wonderful, perfect day. Everything turned out great, but not without a few hiccups. We ordered a backdrop with lights; this was the first thing I said I wanted and was told over and over again that it would be no problem. I got there the day of and only a fabric backdrop had been set up. Luckily, Aaron made a call to his lighting guy and had it fixed before the ceremony. We also ordered a gobo and paid for it, but it wasn't ordered in time and we didn't have it the day of. Aaron told me we would get a refund for the gobo since we didn't have it for the wedding. Instead, when we went to pick up our sparklers (see below for that portion), they had received our gobo and instead of refunding us the money for it, they framed it and gave it to us. The ceremony and reception went perfectly. No issues there, whatsoever. Everything went smoothly, the food was amazing, drinks even better. Everyone has commented about how wonderful it was, the place, the food, the drinks, the ambiance, etc. When we picked up our things and were taking an inventory a couple days later, we noticed that we didn't have the leftover sparklers that we used for our exit. We had bought almost 100 sparklers, had only about 70 people at the wedding, and some even left early. So we knew there was no way they had all been used. We contacted them to see if they were still there, and for a couple of weeks we kept being told they didn't have them. Then one day, they found them and told us we could come get them. Overall, we are so very very very happy with our special day. It was perfect, even with the hiccups. I'm only giving a 4 star instead of 5 star because of the hiccups we had. I would definitely recommend Arterra because it is beautiful and worth all the money.

aron ourselves. We had to do a lot of things last minute. We were told that the venue set up and tore EVERYTHING down. I had specifically asked about an arbor that we rented and whether that was included. I was told that it was until a week before when I asked if I should send photos of how it should be arranged and they said that because it was rented they couldn’t do it. So we had to do it ourselves the day of. My mom had planned a special slideshow that was supposed to be a surprise and instead of calling her if there were problems, as she requested, I was informed about the slideshow. Which ruined her surprise. It was a little frustrating that everything was last minute and promises were made that were not met. We have given the venue 4 stars because our wedding day was beautiful and it all got done even though it was last minute and we had to do more reaching out and checking in than the venue did. This might be due to them only having one person to manage the entire event space.

ns, chairs, bar staff, catering (food was flavorful, not always hot hot but still very tasty), a bridal room, on site ceremony options. They also will do the set up and tear down of decor which is awesome and takes weight off your shoulders. The 2 managers (Mike and Aaron) I dealt with were always pleasant and helpful. However I did have a couple drawbacks. I had 2 sheet cakes and 1 tiered cake that were all different flavors and I was telling people about how the venue is supposed to serve each flavor to all the tables. I had a few people the night of ask where the tiered cake was because they didn't see it served. I asked one of the servers that night and she checked the back and said that it must have been served because she didn't see it. I had let it go but my mother continued to ask people she saw at the wedding what kind of cakes they were offered. No one since has said they saw what would've been the tired cake flavor. I had actually asked the manager a couple days after the wedding if there was extra cake around the venue or something because no one I talked to saw my wedding cake served. He said he would get back to me but never did. I reached back out recently (knowing nothing could be done but I wanted an answer) and he said he thought he responded. He said he asked the day of coordinator of the venue and she said it got served. I had less than 100 guests attend and only 8 tables were used and no one from those tables saw it. The thing is, I made my wedding cake, friends and family knew that, plus they announced it at the reception so people were interested in it. Some guests also worked with me in the bakery and knew I was making it and knew what to look for if it was served. I was asked by some of them after the fact why the wedding cake wasn't served. SIDE NOTE In the planning stages they informed me I would have to supply my own battery operated candles. OK cool! Went online, bought a box of 100 lights. They didn't even need 100. The day of they used them all very nicely, which was great. The venue was supposed to set up and tear down all the decor. When I got my things home I had none of those lights. I contacted the manager in the same email as the cake and he never got back to me about that either. I had the DOC's phone number so I texted her. She said they keep them for fundraising events that they do.... in my mind, I realize they must have tons of these lights if they keep them from all the weddings (w/o asking, in my case at least) and I can only assume they continue to tell weddings to buy their own and then keep them after. I was mad because that was my money that they told me I needed to spend. I got those back, but they clearly weren't just 100 of MY lights because they were all different hues and styles of lights. Due to this, I have some distrust in what they say. Almost everything besides these two incidents was perfect, but the fact that I paid for a tiered cake, and no table even had it served to them, like they said, just bothers me, and I just want to know what happened to my cake. At least I got my top tier, and the building is still beautiful which made for great pictures. I really hate that this is how I was left feeling about this venue that I adored.

the wedding. They all made the day as stress-free as possible! They put up and broke down the tons of decorations we brought in. They worked with us to figure out any seating chart snafus and managed to change the linen colors last minute. Hester was an amazing 'day-of' coordinator and managed to keep us calm and relaxed even when we were behind schedule. We got to enjoy the day and were put at ease knowing it was Arterra coordinating with the vendors, providing the food and beverages, and maintaining the schedule of the evening. Our guests continue to rave about the food and general atmosphere of the venue. We cannot say enough good things about Aaron, Hester, and the whole crew there at Arterra!

or, menu, etc. Not to mention the FOOD was incredible! You can't go wrong booking with Arterra for your event.

t we had possibly walked in to someone's special day. They were just gathering to take pictures prior to the wedding. I do still think we were in the background while a professional photographer snapped some indoor candid shots. The guide assured us nobody minded, but we still felt uncomfortable. I think we would have preferred going in an office to chat or him telling us to wait until the bridal party left. We felt terrible for the wedding party and ended the tour early. I understand that time is short and they have to get tours in when they can. I would have happily rescheduled to a different time. Please note this review is only on the venue tour and not a reflection of their event services.

ce, even though they have every single weekend booked and most weekdays. The food was amazing, service was perfect, and the venue was unbeatable. Perfect spot for a wedding and I will always recommend.

ng, Aaron listened to every design idea/question and was really understanding. Our attendant that day was Danielle - she went above and beyond and was not only wonderful to my new husband and I but our guests as well. The venue was clean and beautiful. The design and set up was fun to create with the team. They set up everything and loaded my car at the end of the night. I can't tell you want a relief that was. Oh! Did I mention Arterra has some amazing food. My guests can't stop talking about the pork belly appetizers two days later. The alcohol selection was outstanding. I am so utterly grateful to Arterra - Mike, Aaron, and Danielle. Everyone at my wedding is from out of town and I (bride) planned everything on my own. I can honestly, 100% say I could not have pulled it off without Arterra. I can't say enough amazing things. d everything I ever dreamed! And I haven't even mentioned the food yet!! My guests are still talking about it, which never happens with wedding food. My guests didn't lift a finger at the reception and frankly we didn't have to do much more during the planning. Mike took care of everything and was completely accessible during the duration of our planning. Highly recommend at least touring this venue and I guarantee, once you see everything that's included, you won't go elsewhere!!

more. When we first saw the un-renovated space in February 2013, we realized that it had great potential but were unsure of how it would come together. Mike painted the portrait of an elegant venue with first-class food and drink, and then he made it happen. His rustic modernist aesthetic came to life during the spring and summer and amazed our guests this fall. The floors alone are jaw-droppingly dramatic, and the rest of the space does not disappoint. We especially loved the high beamed ceilings, all the natural light, and the beautiful bar (salvaged from the original Pachamama’s restaurant). SERVICE: Mike Gehrs was our main contact at the Arterra. He answered emails promptly and communicated information to me clearly, including a detailed budget and timeline for our event. He also contacted and managed vendor deliveries on the day of the wedding—all I had to do was show up. Mike’s attention to detail and his experience in the industry are invaluable resources, regardless of your event planning experience. I learned a tremendous amount about entertaining just by listening to him brainstorm. He was attentive to my requests, quick with ideas when I wasn’t sure what was needed, and happy to oblige if I disagreed with something he suggested. Mike’s staff, including his assistant manager Aaron, functioned like a well-oiled machine. My guests were stunned to hear that this was their first big event. His servers were personable, efficient, and always in the right place at the right time. We were especially impressed with Travis, who was our personal attendant for the evening. He kept my husband and me supplied with water and drinks in alternation—perfect for a busy evening of chatting and dancing. All in all, Mike, Aaron, and the rest of the staff kept the evening flowing effortlessly according to our timeline. (We did not have a DJ and instead relied on the staff to help us keep the evening on track.) FOOD: The chef Bill had not yet been hired when we decided on the Arterra, but as Mike promised, the meal was unforgettable. Fresh produce, exquisitely prepared entrees, delicious wine. We were able to customize from the studio and gallery menus something that fit our taste and budget. Our guests flipped over the delicious food and the family-style service. VENUE: We had cocktails on the patio, then dinner and dancing indoors. Outdoors, cabaret tables and patio furniture was scattered around for the comfort of our guests, and there is plenty of shade (trees and large canvas sails) in case of heat. Indoors, we had slideshows playing on the monitors, and low music playing over the speaker system during dinner. One of my favorite aspects of the Arterra is that the sound can be balanced differently across the room. After dinner we cranked up the sound on the dance floor, but kept it quieter at the other end of the room so that guests could continue their conversations. Instead of a DJ, we prepared a dance playlist, which worked really well—guests were dancing all evening, and there was no need for additional speakers. It was plenty loud and the sound quality was great. An amazing evening from start to finish.
