Nestled against the backdrop of Nantahala National Forest and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Brahma Ridge Event Center offers an idyllic wedding setting for couples looking for something off the beaten path. Located on a picturesque, 50-acre, family-run organic farm in Candler, North Carolina, this venue provides a peaceful, natural atmosphere for your outdoor wedding.
Couples have the freedom to design and plan their perfect day however they wish at this DIY venue. Brahma Ridge's cozy, well-appointed lodge, house and cottage offer accommodations for up to 30 guests, and additional space is available in the stylish, modern glamping tents. The rustic feel of the place offers a chance to get back to nature while still being able to enjoy many modern conveniences. Couples can choose to hold their ceremony in any number of spectacular outdoor locations scattered throughout the property before moving the party inside the reception pavilion complete with wooden floor, LED lighting, sound system, heaters and enough room for bride and groom and 150 to 200 guests.
What You Should Know
Brahma Ridge generally rents out the entire property for three full days for weddings—from midday Thursday to midday Sunday. This gives couples and their guests plenty of time to explore the property, go hiking in the woods or head out to enjoy the fantastic, unspoiled mountain terrain just a short drive away. In the evenings, guests can chat and mingle while warming themselves around a roaring campfire.
Accommodations can be booked for the entire wedding, or guests may also pay for their rooms separately if the couple provides a rooming list. Although the venue allows couples to choose and arrange all of their own vendors, the staff will be on site to meet with and assist them on the day of the wedding. In addition, Brahma Ridge may be able to offer all-inclusive wedding packages for couples that don't want the stress of planning the event themselves.
The owners of the property provide assistance with setting up the reception pavilion and also provide tables, chairs, dishes and coolers for a rehearsal dinner for up to 40 guests. The reception pavilion is fully powered for your needs as well and includes an ice freezer, coffee maker and various other amenities. The venue also provides setup and cleanup for the ceremony and reception. Couples also enjoy the benefits of the following additional amenities:
- Parking attendant
- Ceremony attendant to bring the bridal party drinks in the gazebo before the ceremony
- Fire pit attendant and firewood
- Reception attendant to transport elderly guests or anyone else that needs assistance to the ceremony and reception sites, restrooms and accommodations
- Additional attendant or server available for Friday
- Torches and lights provided
- Trash and recycling containers and removal

What a magical place. My husband(!) and I just got married here and it was amazing in every way. Throughout the weekend our guests stopped us to remark on how awesome Brahma Ridge was. We loved it from the moment we first visited, and it was such a joy to see our friends and family there enjoying all its magic with us on our big day. Holly and Rob are such genuinely nice and accommodating hosts. The property is gorgeous and offers so many wonderful things. The Lawn and the Pavilion were fantastic for our ceremony and reception. The vacation homes were lovely and comfortable, and between those and the glamping tents we were able to have 30+ friends and family staying with us on the property all weekend. The Earthberm House was a brilliant location for our Rehearsal Dinner. So comfortable there, with a beautiful view from the front of the house! Being able to stage all of our events on the property was just priceless. I could go on forever about how wonderful Brahma Ridge is and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat for any kind of gathering.
