I used the wedding dress services of the Brookfield DB shop. First, this place is a MESS. The lighting is horrible, the chairs are literally falling apart, and the accessories area is disorganized and trashed. About every 3rd accessory I touche...d was broken or missing beads/ stones. The only shoes they had in my size and color, the box was falling apart so badly that the cashier put a rubberband around it to hold it together and told me, "there, now that doesn't look so ghetto." Word-for-word. Not exactly how I want to feel about my wedding attire shopping experience. I ordered a dress in a size 2 in ivory. I wasn't totally in love with the design, because ALL of their designs are SO out of date in comparison to today's designers' work. It came in, and I'm not kidding you, it was practically ECRU (or beige). It was NOT ivory. I had already bought my veil and shoes and accessories, so I felt stuck. I sat on it for a few weeks, trying to make myself "like" it. I couldn't do it, so I brought it all back in. Thankfully, they offered my the option to exchange it, because I had not had the dress altered. OMG, I would have been screwed if I had had the dress altered: no one told me about ANY kind of exchange policy. I chose a different design and ordered it in WHITE to avoid the whole ivory problem again (I also had to re-do my table linens, flowers, and menswear to match white. What a pain in the butt.) The size 2 I tried on was way too big...they ordered it in a 2 anyway instead of a 0! The alterations helped, but my dress was still too big, especially in the top. You can tell in my pictures. They forgot to order the sash so it wasn't in for my final fitting, where I was hoping to match it to my jewelry. They had to rush order it & I had to come back. I had to make a decision on my jewelry 2 days before my wedding, only to find that some of the pieces I had bought from them were damaged/ missing stones. The poor salesgirls are so overbooked every time I have gone in. The two different ones I had were both very nice, but stretched way too thin. And it's not their fault the placing is disgusting and the accessories are trashed. I'd also add that I could not come up with one single matching accessory set (necklace, earrings, headpiece). They are all mismatched. Do yourself a favor and shop around if you can. David's dresses are not that much cheaper, especially after you add in alterations, and especially when you add your time & frustration. If you want to feel special and "like a bride," this is not the place to go. If you want current designs, this is not the place to go.
