We chose the buffet which offered great options like salmon and london broil. The cake and dj are included and they use exceptional vendors. Exceptional! The staff reads your mind and go above and beyond to make sure you have your cake and eat it too (if you can muster an appetite with all the excitement). We worked with Helen Patterson when planning the process and she is the sweetest and funniest. What a pleasure. After our wedding, we received a free Sunday brunch at the same location, which is to no surprise, just as amazing as their wedding catering. The overall price tag for a buffet all inclusive wedding (open bar) was not bad AT ALL considering the quality of food and drink offered. Couldn't recommend this place enough. My wedding dreams came true at Karl Strauss.

f! You get the amazing gardens and koi pond, along with a modern industrial-feeling brewery restaurant. The restaurant is closed to regular business during your wedding, so there are no gawkers or strangers walking in on accident. Since it is in a complex of mainly corporate buildings, it is quiet on the weekends, so there is ample parking and you feel kind of secluded. It was perfect for the intimate & casual vibe we wanted for our wedding. It is also ideally located across the street from the Courtyard Marriott, so there is no need to worry about transportation, as your guests can stay there for a reasonable price and just walk right across the street to the brewery. Since a lot of guests were out-of-towners, most people just stayed at that hotel, and we had a huge brunch at Karl Strauss the day after (their Sunday Brunch is ridiculously awesome if you've never been). They were happy to help coordinate our brunch of over 40 people as well. The price is so reasonable for the area, and includes almost everything. The food, cake, linens, DJ, and day-of coordinator are all part of your package. Being able to have an open bar for our guests was important to us, and the prices here allowed us to do that. The cake for our wedding was provided through Eidelweiss Bakery of Mira Mesa and the DJ was Sunset Mobile Music, both of which we were incredibly pleased with! The food and beer at Karl Strauss are also awesome - just have dinner there before and you can see for yourself how good it is. Last, but definitely not least, you get the amazing service that Karl Strauss provides for planning your big day. Helen, the events coordinator, and Monica, the day-of coordinator are beyond helpful. Helen helped us every step of the way, answered all questions we had, and never got annoyed when we wanted to change our mind on something. Monica kept everything moving smoothly on the day of the wedding, keeping us on time and making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. It is truly an incredible team over there. Thank you Karl Strauss for making our day truly incredible!

was fantastic, and the ceremony and reception were both in an ideal setting. The patio and pond looked absolutely amazing in the evening!! The staff was extremely helpful and quick in answering our questions before the big day, and worked with us to make it as memorable as possible for us.

will receive a packet with suggestions for other vendors, we didn't use any of these because we had a friend do the photography and chose our own florist. I have to mention Lori from Blossoms...she did a fantastic job with the flowers and no one could tell they were made on a budget...really beautiful! Helen, the main event coordinator was wonderful and was always quick to reply to phone calls or emails. Monica, the coordinator the day of the rehearsal and wedding was beyond amazing! She helped make the whole day run smoothly. We were able to just enjoy the day without worrying about all the little details. The staff at Karl Strauss is so professional and everyone was friendly. This venue is absolutely gorgeous! I know the pictures will be beautiful. It's such a pretty, intimate, cozy place for a wedding.The food was sooo good, the cake was yummy and the DJ kept the night going and everyone danced all night long. I can't say enough about this place...it exceeded my expectations and my daughter was glowing all night long from happiness. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a wedding venue....you won't be disappointed. Everyone raved about the venue and the food. If I could give more stars I would!

Monica was great the day of the rehearsal and the day of creating a stress free atmosphere. We did not have a wedding planner and because of the staff at KS did not need one. The vendors hired through KS: the cake vendor we used was Edelweiss Bakery and was easy to deal with and the cake tasted great. The DJ, Dominic of Sunset Mobile Music did a great job during and after the ceremony. We are very happy with how are wedding turned out at KS.

es KS so affordable, is that the cake, the DJ, the champagne toast, the linens, it's ALL INCLUDED in your per person dinner price. Nowhere else I looked offered all the same options in one price. The open bar options are also the most affordable that I've seen. They offer all their beers on tap, as well as several wines. Besides being affordable, they make planning the wedding super smooth. Helen is great and works with you to get everything set up. Day of staff make sure everything runs smoothly and fits into your time window. I never had to worry about a single thing, and someone was always there telling me where I had to be or what I had to do. So simple! The gardens are beautiful and make for lovely photos. I had my ceremony and reception here, and it was so convenient, no one had to drive between at all, just moved from the patio inside the restaurant. The whole place is closed down on Saturdays, so you get the entire restaurant to yourself! Amazing! Where else can you rent an entire restaurant and get some much for your money. I loved it. It was my dream wedding, thank you Karl Strauss!

She made sure everyone was where they should be, everyone was taken care of and that my husband and I were happy and most importantly made sure we got to eat the food at our wedding, lol. Helen and Monica made sure we got food and cake to-go to take back to our hotel, how cool is that?? We were never left wanting for anything and we could not be happier with our experience. The team at Karl Strauss definitely made our wedding a night we will never forget and we will always go back to the Sorrento Mesa location, they are wonderful!

fantastic, food was WAY better than regular wedding food, beer of course was fantastic (but if you're not a beer person don't let the brewery thing scare you, go see the place for yourself!), and we were treated really really well by the coordinators and staff, for the entire experience from start to finish. PLUS - we were able to do the whole thing and stay well under budget! i have no bad things to say about karl strauss, they were so great and the wedding turned out FANTASTIC!

Even working with them up to the event date they helped me stay organized as I wasn't working with any other coordinator. So friendly and helpful. And the food was amazing! I would highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for a venue in San Diego.

We had our ceremony and our reception here which made it SO easy and nice for our guests, especially those that were out of town or elderly. The location is a little tricky to get to. We made some signs for the parking lot and the street nearby. The restrooms could look a little better.

The venue also provided a delicious and wide selection of beer for a great price per head unlimited.;The few topics couples would have to be flexible on at Karl Strauss are: The venue does not serve liquor it has a beer and wine license only. The venue includes a DJ and cake in the price, which worked out great for us being out of town and watching cost, but others may not like the selections provided and will not get a reduced rate if they do not want to use who is provided. THe last thing is there is no place to get ready on location. We used the marriott hotel across the street. I loved everything though and was extremely impressed with all details of the celebration!!

They had drinks lined up on the bar when everyone walked in they remembered what you were drinking and made sure your glass was never empty!!!;Watch out for Helen the group sales manager. She does not know what she is talking about with the table arrangements. Make sure you talk to the banquet coordinator!!
