THE BEST.
Where do I start? My family is very into food (Italian) and the meal was the most important vendor to them. When we went to the tasting, already full from a different tasting, Royal Fig blew us away. Everything from presentation, pay...ing attention to who we were as a client, to every single piece of food was amazing. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and the pretty ridiculous amount of food we wanted for our guests. We decided on passed appetizers before the ceremony with infused waters, because I didn't want my guests hangry during vows. ;) Then we had different passed appetizers for the cocktail hour and opened up the bar. We used Royal Fig not only for catering but also: bar services, signature cocktails, ice cream station, glassware / dinnerware rentals, and their pastry chef for our cake. Once guests were seated we had a prosecco toast, then dinner was served family style starting with a fennel roast pear and prosciutto salad, then on to the main and side dishes. (MAIN: Shiner braised beef short ribs with truffle mash, Texas roast chicken with ricotta sage polenta, and specialty chef's choice vegetarian dish. SIDE: roasted asparagus with lemon vinaigrette, roasted heirloom carrots with carrot top pesto, and caramelized sweet potato with orange zest.)
Have I made you hungry yet?
Our guests raved about the food, especially the beef and vegetarian main dishes, but everything was talked about. After dinner came the Margarita cake (tequila buttercream icing is life) which had some guests stalking the waiters bringing out slices. My fiance doesn't like cake (more for me) so he had an ice cream sundae bar. That included homemade Mexican vanilla, homemade chocolate ganache, with lemon curd or bourbon caramel sauces, seasonal fruit, crushed candies and cookies, and in honor of my late grandfather: amaretto shots to pour on top. Yeah, our 150 guests ate everything in sight. I also had a surprise Father of the Bride cake for my dad just as something special for him. Royal Fig made that Amaretto Chocolate Cheesecake happen even though they hadn't made it before and my dad was SO happy.
You think I'm done now? Haha, nope. I had to tell all my guests to not eat before the wedding or they would have to be rolled out. After dessert and halfway through the rave our DJ was causing, the late night bites came out. Grilled cheese with peppernota jam and french fry cones with aioli sauce. We also had a coffee and tea station the entire night for guests as well.
As far as my new husband and I's experience, Royal Fig always had someone getting us whatever we needed and had a plate of appetizers brought in for our bridal parties while getting ready. Brie our point person from RF was the best! She made sure we were happy with everything and made sure we got refills and seconds if we wished asap.
Our wedding day was a whirlwind, it goes by fast just like everyone tells you. The vendors we chose made it slow down for us, so my new husband and I could actually be in the moment and enjoy every second. Shawn and I were moved by how loved our guests made us feel, by how all our vendors made our wedding vision come to life, and I can easily say everything turned out perfectly.
Over a month later and I still have guests complimenting the food. Just go in for a tasting, and you will see that Royal Fig is the best in the business.
Thank you so much Brie! Our wedding would not have been so wonderful without you!
Love,
Em and Shawn
