I visited 7 dress shops in my quest to find my wedding gown and came to Saks on the high recommendation of a friend. I truly think your experience here depends on the attendant you get because while mine was super sweet, there were more than a ...few miscommunications that led to unnecessarily stressful situations that my friend did not encounter.
For instance, when I made my appointment to purchase my dress, my attendant asked if there were any other items I wanted her to pull. I told her about a pair of shoes exclusive to Saks that I wanted to purchase and she assured me she would have them in my size on the day of my fitting. When I showed up, she not only had forgotten to do this, but acted as if we never had this conversation. She then sent me to the shoe salon upstairs to purchase them, but they had sold out of the shoes nationwide and I had to go on a wild goose chase to hunt down a similar pair.
My wedding dress designer creates a personalized sketch of the dress you purchased, and Saks sends them on the label's behalf. They accidentally swapped my sketch with another bride's, so when I opened the sketch I had a panic attack since it was not of the dress I ordered and I was concerned they had gotten my order wrong. Thankfully, they didn't, but as a frazzled bride, you're going to be less likely to trust someone who can't write the proper address on an envelope.
When it came to schedule my fittings at the designer's showroom offsite, there was tons of confusion as to whose responsibility that was, when my accessories were supposed to be present at which fittings and who would be delivering or picking them up.
It also doesn't help that my attendant never told me about certain perks that come along with purchasing a dress at Saks (you get a $500 gift card if you spend a certain amount on predetermined days that can be applied to your accessories), and when I spoke to the manager about this, she was incredibly rude.
All of that being said, I absolutely loved my dress, belt and gown and got tons of compliments. I just wish the process had been more seamless and enjoyable, since it is a once in a lifetime purchase and you would expect better customer service for the amount you're spending in this salon.
