to April 2022 due to the covid pandemic. Throughout our postponements the staff were great at trying to accommodate the pandemic as well as our wedding. The day was a beautiful, blue sky, sunny day and all of our guests commented on our lovely the wedding and venue was. so happy we were finally able to have our dream day! Just to note, this venue books out so make sure to save your date ahead of time! Parking can also be problematic so you should buy parking passes for your guests (although you do not need a parking attendant to hand it out, one of the groomsmen/ushers can do so). You also can only choose your vendors from their list. Lastly you can't throw our rose/flower petals, use sparklers, etc.

so I highly recommend to rent out a few heaters and put them around the bar area outside. If you choose this venue be prepared to hire all the vendors separately because the venue does not come with anything. It was definitely challenging to put it all together but it was well worth it at the end.

efore. We had SO many people come up and compliment us on our venue and how gorgeous it was. It was a little more work to book vendors because you have to book EVERYTHING on your own but it was worth the extra work.

the beach but with a rain plan! Romie was awesome to work with the whole time, was really communicative and helpful. Our guests had the best time and so did we! Couldn't recommend it enough!!

g outside - we did three heaters and that was perfect for what turned into a little bit of a chilly evening. The pros - location, I thought the communication was really excellent contrary to other reviews - I never waited more than 24-48 hours for any responses and I generally received most replies the same day. We did a parking attendant for one hour leading up to the ceremony to hand out parking permits which made parking MUCH easier for our guests. The venue was also able to let us lock up decorations, booze, etc the night before which made the day of SO much easier. Another advantage is you can bring your own alcohol (more on this though also in the cons) - we saved SO much money by being able to customize our bar (We did beer, wine, and a signature cocktail only) and being able to purchase from Costco, etc. I would actually say this may have paid for a good portion of the venue fee and also enabled us to have a ceremony that really was more of what we wanted and "us". The Cons - you HAVE to use the Giuseppe's bartender as they have the liquor license. They are not as responsive to communication- to process our down payment took almost a month and a half after we gave them the credit card information. That being said, two weeks before, our event manager called and everything turned out perfectly. The bartender's are very expensive since you have to use them if you want to serve alcohol. If we had known how expensive that was going to be, I think that negated a lot of the savings from BYOB. Also - HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend UCSD Catering - we got SO many compliments on their food, they are located like two blocks away and their facilities are insane (the main facility is like the size of a department store and they have a fleet of vehicles)- they do multiple events at the venue weekly, have a huge amount of wedding's that they work, and they do a lot of really high end events - medical research / university donor events, etc. They were AMAZING to work with - so responsive, really created the custom feel we wanted, their food was amazing, service was five star, and they were much much more reasonable than most of the other caterer's we priced out. Additional info - They only take Visa/Mastercard, you have to book WAY far in advance to secure a date, you have to bring all of your own "stuff" - tables, chairs, linens, etc - it's a blank canvas. This creates some additional work, but really for us created a much more custom feel that we wanted.

I liked being able to design and pick vendors but it does make it more expensive. Also wish we weren't stuck with their bartending service. Absolutely loved our wedding there though and glad we had it there.

All of our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and the beautiful beach sunset was just the cherry on top! Wouldn't have traded the venue for anything!!

ore breathtaking venue. My husband and I got married here, and people are still raving about the location. It's such a great mix of modern, but beachy - making it such a classy and timeless venue! It photographs well, and it's nice to have an indoor/outdoor option. I don't regret booking this venue ONE BIT! Make sure you book early though - I had to wait a long (but well worth it) year and a half!

ho kindly asked bystanders who where not invited to the wedding to be respectful. Every person that we dealt with was very friendly and accommodating, which made the experience amazing. It is a pretty bare canvas and you have to bring in all of the vendors but the facility is exceptionally clean, new and highlights the best of southern California beauty. I will recommend this venue to everyone I know! Amazing :)

ould have been more convenient would be if you could use your caterer for the bar service instead of Guisseppe's. although Guisseppe's was great it was one additional thing to coordinate. I HIGHLY recommend this venue if you want a beautiful beach wedding with amazing photos and parking! It is first class all the way!

up as much as you'd like. The only downside is you have to clear out by 11pm (including clean up time) so you can only have your party til 10pm. The staff is very nice and easy to work with. Guests or you have to pay for parking at this venue.

awn, just a few feet above the sand, was the perfect compromise. Even though we had rented the lawn area only (which I don’t think you can even do anymore), Donna was very accommodating with rain plans and providing a room where I could get dressed. One hurdle of planning an event at any UCSD venue is the additional insurance required, but Donna was also quite helpful in figuring out how to do this. Furthermore, I appreciated the responsiveness of Donna and her team at the Forum – phone calls and e-mails were returned promptly. I also liked their consistency – Donna was the one to show us the venue on our first visit, I worked with her throughout the planning, and she was there during our rehearsal, set-up, and ceremony. The Forum was a great place to have our ceremony and the staff made sure that everything was set up to happen the way I envisioned and that everything ran smoothly on our big day.
