Donate your wedding flowers to seniors!

Stems for Seniors will give your wedding flowers a second life and bring happiness to local seniors in Columbus and Central Ohio! We work with couples to repurpose their wedding flowers into individual bouquets then deliver them to seniors in our community via Meals on Wheels, hospice and other facilities. As a nonprofit, our services are free of charge to both couples and recipients. Since our founding in 2017, we have created and delivered more than 11,000 bouquets, with 7,300 of those being delivered in 2023 alone. Donating your flowers are easy! We will come to your venue at the end of the event and pick up the flowers. There is no additional work on your part or the part of your family, florist, and wedding planner. Stems for Seniors was recommended to us by our wedding planner. After hearing my mom talk about donating my parents wedding flowers and how much happiness it brought the residents at a nursing home, I knew it was something I wanted to do. At the end of the night, volunteers come in to collect whichever florals you want to donate (I kept my bridal bouquet) and separates the arrangements into mini bedside bouquets for hospice patients, meals on wheels, nursing homes, etc. We received photos of the mini bouquets the day after our wedding and were so touched that my husband and I now volunteer with Stems for Seniors! It's an incredible opportunity to take a piece of the joy from your special day to bring joy to many others.

A great win win concept from creative and compassionate people! The wedding hosts have the satisfaction of knowing that the flowers that made their day special will also make seniors in their homes or in care communities feel special! The Stems for Seniors organization is flexible in accommodating the type of arrangements they deliver and the delivery time with door to door service! Bride's families do not have any work or expense to donate the flowers. Stems for Seniors picks them up at the venue, repurposes them and delivers them to the recipient's door! Our residents look forward to receiving a beautiful arrangement to decorate their room. Not only is it a beautiful arrangement, but it lets the senior know that someone is thinking about them. It all started with a passing discussion that Todd had with a colleague who talked about a charitable project she had created to repurpose wedding flowers into bedside bouquets in Milwaukee. This wonderful concept aligned closely with Todd's lifelong belief that "everyone deserves flowers" as well as his interaction with homebound seniors while delivering Meals on Wheels. And before we knew it, Stems for Seniors was born! In 2023, we delivered over 7,300 bouquets / smiles to local seniors. We would love for you to help us reach 10,000 deliveries this year by donating your wedding flowers.
