The Real Love Story of the Olympics is Henrik Christiansen and His Chocolate Muffins
If you, like the rest of the world, are deep on #OlympicsTok, you're probably well-acquainted with Henrik Christiansen—or, as fans know him, "Mr. Muffin Man." The 27-year-old Norwegian swimmer has shot to fame for his love of the chocolate muffins in the Olympic Village, racking up millions of views for his TikToks documenting the sweet treat. He's become one of the biggest viral memes of the 2024 Games in Paris, and rightfully so. (Seriously, have you seen the production quality of his content?)
Alas, the infamous Muffin Man isnot single. While you might think Henrik Christiansen and his chocolate muffins are the best love story of the Olympics, we're here to report that he's dating someone…and she now goes by "Ms. Choccy Muffin."
Who is Henrik Christiansen's Girlfriend? All About Sanne Anderson
Henrik Christiansen is dating Sanne Anderson. (Turns out those muffins have some competition for Christiansen's undying love.) According to their social media pages, Christiansen and Anderson have been together since at least 2021. The couple hard-launched their romance on New Year's Eve of that year—and a few months later, he called her "my favorite woman" in honor of International Women's Day.
While she's not an Olympian, Sanne Anderson is, unsurprisingly, very supportive of her boyfriend's athletic career. According to her LinkedIn profile, she lives in Oslo, Norway, and works as a project coordinator and customer advisor. She graduated from BI Norwegian Business School in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in international management.
With Christiansen's viral fame at the Olympics, it didn't take fans long to uncover his girlfriend's identity. In one TikTok video, which has since racked up over six million views, Anderson vented about the price of tickets for swim meets at the Games—and fans were delighted to learn who her significant other was. "WE HAVE FOUND THE GIRLFRIEND OF THE MUFFIN MAN! RESPECT TO THE QUEEN OF THE MUFFIN NATION," wrote one commented. Another added, "[You're] winning girl. I mean THE MUFFIN MAN?!?!?!"
Another likened her boyfriend's viral fame to that of Pommel Horse Steve, who stole hearts after helping the US men's gymnastics team win their first Olympic medal in 16 years. "Mr and Mrs pommel horse and Mr and Mrs muffin man we love to see it," they wrote.
Anderson leaned into the fun, going so far as to update her TikTok bio to read "I'm ms choccy muffin now I guess?"
While Christiansen has yet to win an Olympic medal, the 2024 Games are far from over. For now, time will tell if he's able to secure a piece of hardware for Norway—or if he manages to smuggle a muffin back home for his girlfriend.
