Taylor Swift Chose a Dior Wedding Dress, As Travis Kelce Went With the Same Designer
Throughout history, a select cohort of brides have donned gowns that went on to become some of the most iconic wedding dresses of all time. Think: Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle. And now, Taylor Swift can be added to the list.
The singer wore a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture gown by Jonathan Anderson on Friday, July 3, for her wedding to Travis Kelce. The look marks a historic milestone: it is the first celebrity couture wedding dress created by Anderson since he took over as the sole creative director of Dior's women's, men's, and haute couture collections. Swift paired the spectacular dress with custom Christian Louboutin heels and Cartier jewelry, while Kelce also donned a custom design by Christian Dior Haute Couture.
Despite knowing the designer, official photos of the couple on their wedding day have yet to be released. So, what did Taylor Swift's wedding dress look like? Ahead of the nuptials, we asked nine experts to predict what the pop star might wear.
Over the course of her career, the Grammy winner has worn wedding dresses in music videos and looks from bridal designers on The Eras Tour. It was previously speculated she could opt for a gown by Ralph Lauren, who designed her proposal dress, or Oscar de la Renta, a staple in her wardrobe (as confirmed by her outfit for Selena Gomez's wedding). It has yet to be determined if her final bridal look will be vintage-inspired, like her Old Mine engagement ring; sparkly, like her on-stage wardrobe; or preppy, like her personal style. One thing we can say for certain is that Taylor Swift's wedding dress will inspire bridal fashion trends for generations to come. Below, see what experts envisioned for the historic day.
Taylor Swift's Wedding Dress Predictions
According to predictions from vendors and various news reports, Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce is believed to be set for June 13, 2026, in Rhode Island. So, could the coastal setting influence the attire? Nine designers and bridal fashion experts share their prediction for what Taylor Swift's wedding dress will look like.
Hayley Paige: Dresses Inspired by Songwriting
Everyone has an opinion on Taylor Swift's wedding dress, which is why designer Hayley Paige thinks the final look will be something completely unpredictable. "I don't think she'll go in the direction people expect—and that's kind of her magic," she explains. "Offstage, her style feels much more intimate, less performative. If I had to guess, I'd say she'll choose something deeply personal, not because it's 'timeless' or on-trend, but because it feels like her and something she's dreamed about for a long time."
Paige compares this concept to one of her own designs: Sonnet 104. "It has this quiet intricacy to it. It's not loud at first glance, but the more you look, the more it reveals," she says. "That's the energy I associate with Taylor's personal style. There's depth, layers and poetry tucked into the details. As a designer, those are the pieces I love most: the ones that reward a closer look instead of announcing themselves immediately."
While Paige does foresee Swift wearing multiple looks throughout her wedding weekend, she suggests that each outfit could be connected to the others, much like her musical catalog. "I think she'll approach it like songwriting, with each look serving a different meaning or moment of the day. She's someone who understands how to shape a narrative," she says. "From a design perspective, that usually means a mix of silhouettes and textures; something more ethereal or restrained for the ceremony, and then pieces that feel freer, maybe even a little playful, as the night unfolds. It's not about outfit changes, it's about creating a soundtrack through dresswear."
Justin Warshaw, Justin Alexander: Vintage Lace
How many wedding outfits will Taylor Swift wear? Justin Warshaw, CEO and creative director of Justin Alexander, anticipates at least four: "A slip dress with a robe while she's getting ready. A real moment of a ceremony gown," he says. "A dinner look that lets her actually be present with the people she loves. And something short for the party, because Taylor Swift is going to dance at her own wedding."
As for what sort of silhouette will lend itself to a "moment" for the ceremony, Warshaw predicts she'll select something drastically different from her performance wardrobe. "I think she'll surprise everyone," he says. "Her personal style is so much quieter than her stage presence." He would style her in a gown that's "romantic without being loud," like the Eris dress from Justin Alexander Signature. "Lace just feels right for her," he continues. "It connects to who she's always been underneath all the spectacle."
Pnina Tornai: Whimsical Ball Gown
Pnina Tornai, a bridal designer who rose to fame in the early 2000s thanks to her appearances at Kleinfeld Bridal on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress, suggests that Taylor Swift's wedding dress may pull inspiration from her onstage persona. "As someone who sings about love stories and enchantment, I think Taylor will wear a romantic and whimsical ball gown or A-line dress for her ceremony," Tornai says. "I think she'll channel her stage style, opting for something embellished with beading or dimensional elements like ruffles or florals. I wouldn't be surprised if color is incorporated as well."
Tornai sees Swift wearing multiple looks on her wedding day—five or more, to be exact. "For the reception, I imagine her in a gorgeous fitted high-neck dress, with a fun beaded mini dress for the after-party. I wouldn't be surprised if she wore a pair of pants as well."
Considering Swift is known for weaving Easter eggs in song lyrics and music videos, Tornai expects that she'll incorporate a few hidden messages in her wedding attire too. "I think Taylor knows that her fans are watching and waiting to dissect every bit of her wedding to find the symbolism and meaning that she intertwines into her music," she explains. "I think she'll have motifs or words hidden in beading or embroidered within the gown or on a veil or accessories. I also wouldn't be surprised if that extends to her wedding decor and stationery as well."
Shawne Jacobs, Anne Barge: Modern Americana Aesthetic
Anne Barge's creative director and owner Shawne Jacobs envisions Taylor Swift's wedding dress as an extension of her rumored coastal and preppy wedding location. "Taylor has always balanced storytelling with a strong sense of personal style, so I see her wedding look channeling a modern Americana spirit," she says. "I imagine it being clean, tailored and elevated through couture craftsmanship. It will still feel undeniably feminine, but in a way that's timeless and romantic, with a sense of quiet sophistication rather than excess."
She predicts Swift will wear at least three looks, and that her signature storytelling will appear through thoughtful wedding details, not necessarily design choices. "I think the Easter eggs will live in the experience, not the dress, through details like fireworks, opalite stones and gold accents while her gown remains timeless and romantic," Jacobs adds.
Sydney Watters, Watters: Romantic Ceremony Ball Gown and Sexy Reception Dress
Instead of curating an extensive wedding day wardrobe, Sydney Watters, style director of Watters, sees Taylor Swift opting for just two looks. "Taylor's personal style always leans romantic, but she also understands when it's time for a true fashion moment," she says. "We could see her choosing a ball gown, which always creates a strong presence—something full of texture, movement and a little bit of magic. The silhouette would also create more distance from her typically sleek red carpet gowns." She likens the prediction to Watters' Corneilia gown.
For the reception, Watters anticipates that the bride won't want to sacrifice time with guests by changing into multiple looks. "Taylor strikes me as someone who wants the fashion moment, but more importantly, the actual moments and time with her loved ones," she continues. "I imagine one major ceremony gown, then a second look that feels lighter, sexier, and easier to move in, along the lines of our Melody gown, which still exudes romance thanks to the lace but allows for more movement with its slight stretch."
Nicala La Reau, Pronovias: Long-Sleeve Lace Dress
Nicala La Reau, marketing director for Pronovias, predicts Taylor Swift's wedding dress could look like the brand's Maplis design: a long-sleeve lace ball gown with an elegant high neckline. "If Taylor opts for a private, traditional ceremony, Maplis's ethereal modesty and timeless lace detailing would feel deeply authentic. It echoes the elegant lace and modesty Taylor wore throughout the Evermore era. Classic, poetic and introspective."
She also likens Swift's potential fashion impact to other famous brides like Princess Diana, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Meghan Markle. "When a global figure like Taylor Swift gets married, the effect on bridal fashion is profound and will be globally reaching," she says. "It has the power to influence designers, drive consumer trends, and even reshape what brides see as 'timeless' or 'modern.'"
Martine Harris, Martina Liana: Off-the-Shoulder Ball Gown
Martine Harris, chief creative officer and head designer of Martina Liana, expects Taylor Swift's wedding dress to be a reflection of her private side that fans don't always see. "What's so interesting about Taylor Swift is the duality in her style," Liana says. "On stage and on the red carpet she leans into performance: drama, sparkle and statements. But in her personal life, there's a softness and romantic ease that feels much more intimate."
On her wedding day, she says Swift may wear something classic and timeless with a "poetic" vibe. "I can imagine her in [something like] Martina Liana style ML1989, a grand off-the-shoulder ballgown with a dramatic hip pleating and timeless lace appliqués," Liana says. "The allover silk zibeline fabric brings a soft, ethereal finish to a voluminous silhouette that is absolutely timeless."
Mikaella Bernstein, Paloma Blanca/Mikaella Bridal: Sleek & Simple Dress
Mikaella Bernstein, Creative Director of Paloma Blanca/Mikaella Bridal, offered her predictions for Taylor Swift's ceremony and reception look as well. "Taylor has always been drawn to the detail you don't see coming," Bernstein said. "For the ceremony I'd expect restraint, a clean crepe sheath or a structured ballgown, with one element that turns it: an oversized bow, a sleeve that arrives out of nowhere. The reception is where the personality comes out, something shorter and far less serious. Familiar at a glance, unmistakably hers up close.
Kate Spinella, Ivory: A Bridal Co.: Ball Gown & Slip Dress
The Knot team caught up with Kate Spinella, co-owner of Ivory: A Bridal Boutique at the Newport Wedding Show in March 2026. As a local Rhode Island wedding vendor, Spinella believes the A-list wedding will indeed take place in the Ocean State later this summer—and she thinks Swift won't be confined to just one look. "It's so hard to predict [Taylor Swift's wedding dress] because if you've ever been to her shows, she wears big ball gowns with trains streaming behind her—but she also wears beautiful slip dress looks too," she says. "I'm expecting we'll see a little bit of everything with her."
