Lana Condor is married! On November 1, 2024, the To All The Boys I Loved Before star wed actor Anthony De La Torre at the Serra Franciscan Retreat Center in Malibu, California. Condor wore an elegant Vera Wang ball gown for the "soft and delicate" fall fête, which was planned by Alex Moreau of XO Moreau (one of The Knot's 2023 Ones to Watch honorees).
The three-day affair required a full wedding capsule wardrobe, along with vastly different glam looks for each event. Condor teamed up with celebrity hairstylist Kat Thompson to curate the perfect hairstyles for the welcome dinner, the wedding day, and the farewell brunch—and we have an inside look at their creative process. "For the wedding, we wanted to create soft, voluminous waves to give her hair a beautiful and timeless flow," Thompson tells The Knot. "The look combined romantic elegance with a modern feel, allowing her natural beauty to shine while adding the right amount of fullness and movement."

The Welcome Dinner

Thompson exclusively used Living Proof products for Lana Condor's wedding hairstyles, starting with the welcome dinner look. The couple hosted the prewedding party at their California home, inviting guests to kick off the festivities at intimate tables arranged in their backyard. Condor wore a modern pearl dress with a cinched waist by Woná Concept for the event, which had exposed boning and a structural bustier bodice.
Opting to let the gown take center stage, Thompson styled the bride's hair in natural waves that cascaded around the strapless neckline. "To achieve this look, start by applying Living Proof's Full Volume and Root Lifting Spray to damp hair before blow-drying," she explains. "Then, using a large barrel curling iron, route the barrel back and forth to give the waves separate and natural curls. After, comb through the curls with your fingertips."

For added hold, Thompson used the brand's Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo "to create a bit of lift at her roots without weighing her hair down." Another spritz of the Full Dry Volume & Texture Spray enhanced the body of Condor's curls.
The Wedding Day

The perfect wedding hairstyle begins with proper prep the night (or morning) before. "Lana started by adding the Perfect Hair Day High Shine Gloss into her morning routine after shampooing and conditioning to add a beautiful shine to her hair," Thompson explains. "It gave a gorgeous base for the whole day."
Opting for a similar look as the night before, Condor wore her hair in loose waves to accentuate her romantic Vera Wang ball gown. "I used Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray to prep before blow-drying," the pro adds. To recreate this look, she recommends applying a product like the Frizz Smooth Styling Spray on damp hair before using a round brush with your hair dryer for a sleek, blown-out effect.

Thompson used a 1.25-barrel curling iron to create the waves, curling each section in the same direction to maintain a uniform look. She gently combed through Condor's hair with a boar bristle brush to soften the waves. Then, Thompson says, "The final touch was a gentle application of Style Lab Flex Hairspray to lock in the shape without sacrificing the softness. For added shine and definition, I smoothed a tiny amount of the Frizz Smooth Styling Spray over the top for a polished look."
The Farewell Brunch

Although the couple's wedding lasted late into the evening, the fun was far from over. Before Condor and De La Torre's guests departed, they treated them to a farewell brunch, which also took place in their backyard. Condor wore a high-neck mini dress lined with pearls to echo her welcome dinner look. Rather than keep her hair down, she and Thompson chose to style it in a sleek high ponytail.
Thompson used Living Proof's Frizz Smooth Styling Spray on the bride's damp tresses to tame flyaways and create a "silky, sleek base." To achieve the perfect party pony, she pulled part of Condor's hair into a high ponytail on the crown. "Leave the front section out with a side part," she suggests, "then smooth it [to the side] and secure the ponytail."

Before Condor was off to celebrate her newlywed status, Thompson finished her pony with another spritz of hairspray to ensure it would stay put under the California sun.
