Marysol Patton Gives an Exclusive Look Inside Her Third Wedding to Steve McNamara

The third wedding's the charm for Marysol Patton and her husband, Steve McNamara. After hosting two non-binding vow ceremonies (one in Tulum and one in Scotland), the Real Housewives of Miami star finally decided to make things official—and luckily for Bravo fans, cameras were on hand to capture the entire celebration. While viewers can watch Patton's Bravo wedding play out on the June 25 episode of RHOM, we caught up with the Coconut Grove socialite ahead of the premiere to chat about everything that went down behind the scenes, including her plans for a fourth (yes, fourth!) destination wedding in the future.

Marysol Patton and Steve McNamara took a rather non-traditional path to the proverbial altar. After meeting through a mutual friend in 2019, the two never formally got engaged. But during an April 2021 vacation to Hotel Esencia in Tulum, Mexico, their itinerary included a spiritual relationship cleansing with a shaman. For Patton, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to strengthen their connection. (It also didn't hurt that she just happened to have a white dress on hand.)

"Steve and I were off of really bad breakups, and I said, 'We need someone to cleanse our love and our relationship moving forward so that we have a chance,'" she tells us. "I felt like we should wear white, and I happened to pack a lace cover up that looked like a wedding dress. So I said, 'Why don't we just get married?'" Ever a good sport, McNamara agreed: "He goes along with all my crazy ideas," Patton jokes.

Two years later, the couple jetted off to the historic Ardgowan Castle in Glasgow, Scotland, to renew their vows. Patton designed a custom tartan dress for the occasion, which she loved for the "big a** bow" on the neckline. "That was a whole thing," she recalls with a laugh. "That dress went viral."

Despite their meaningful commitment ceremonies, Patton felt the urge to make their union official—not only just for legal purposes, but for practical reasons too. "We're a little older, and I don't have any kids," Patton explains. "When my parents were ill, they had everything prepared. I didn't really have anything like that. So I said to Steve, 'If anything happens to me, I need you to be able to access my assets, be my health surrogate, and vice versa.' We decided to do that so that we could take care of each other."

Finally, in September 2024, the couple hopped on their Harley and drove off to the Coral Gables Courthouse for their Florida wedding. Given her appreciation for a theme, Patton donned a Versace mini dress for the occasion. "I wanted to do a 1960s vibe à la The Graduate," she says. As an investor of the hair extension company Locks & Mane, Patton wore one of the brand's clip-in half wigs attached to a headband with a shoulder-length veil. She completed her bridal look with a bouquet of white flowers and retro mod sunglasses.

Rather than swap new jewels for the occasion, the couple re-exchanged the bands they already had. Patton's wedding ring, in particular, is a sight to behold. She wears a 37-carat yellow sapphire gemstone on a dainty pavé band, which she fatefully found at the Miami Beach Antique Show a few years ago. "I always said to Steve that I really wanted a yellow sapphire," she says of her engagement ring. "My birthday is in January, so every year I go [to the antique show] and pick a little something out for myself. But I was going to every booth looking for yellow sapphires, and nobody had them."

Just as they were about to leave, McNamara spotted a booth at the end of the convention center, which happened to have a yellow sapphire ring in the exact shape and style Patton coveted. "I wanted it in a very thin setting so that the stone would flop around on my hand," she says. "So we bought it!"

Although none of Patton's RHOM castmates joined the couple for their courthouse wedding, Bravo cameras were indeed on-site to capture the intimate ceremony for the series' seventh season. It was a first for Patton, who has always opted for private exchanges over lavish affairs. "No one's ever really been with us [at our weddings] except for about three people who joined us in Scotland," Patton says. "Even Alexia [Nepola] was like, 'Am I ever going to go to one of your weddings?'"

As it turns out, the answer may be yes. Now, almost a year after their courthouse elopement, Patton is already thinking about their fourth event. (And as a former event planner, she says she can plan weddings "in her sleep" at this point.) "I got one up my sleeve," she teases. "I already know where we're going and what the whole vibe is gonna be."

While fans may have to wait until 2026 or 2027 to get a glimpse of the destination fête, Patton promises it will be worth the wait. And for other to-be-weds in the same position, there's one piece of wedding planning advice she swears by: "Make it memorable. Don't do the same thing everybody else does," she says. "You don't always have to wear a white dress. You don't always have to have a million people there. You don't have to spend a gazillion dollars to have a nice wedding. Mix it up and do it differently."
