DJ sdot (Sean) was absolutely wonderful I just had to make sure I wrote this review the morning after my wedding! He was timely and worked around us not having a set playlist. His judgement was impeccable and when there was a mishap with M & S dance (our fault not his) we smoothed it over and had my ENTIRE guest list on the dance floor at the end of the night. He was absolutely wonderful and even danced with us! I will go to Sean first for any DJ needs… VERY AFFORDABLE! WE LOVE YOU DJSDOT
Jon Geronimo was our DJ for our vow renewal at Delaware Seashore State Park. When he couldn't run electric to the beach, he backed his car up to the beachand blasted the ceremony music through his speakers. During the reception, he was very open to requests. Get the photo booth. Totally worth it.
After talking to four other DJs. We hired DJSDOT (Sean) for my 40th Birthday Party and I must say it’s one of the best decisions I have ever made. This guy DJ service is everything, he set the tone for my party, he can read the room, I highly recommend him, look NO further. Additionally, Sean played songs from my playlist and a mixer of other music that kept us dancing all night, including special requests. We partied so hard my sister left leg caught a muscle spasm. She was so upset as she was done for the night, but we continue to party the night away. My grandparents said we hired a classy, polished, professional guy who knows his craft. We had over 100 guests and at least 18 people asked me for his number/business card. Sean speaks intelligently over the microphone, pays attention to details, professional, crowd-pleaser with an exceptional work quality. Plus, He response to your phone calls and text quickly, you don’t have to wait hours or days to hear back from him. My party was perfect, I am pleased, my guest is still talking about it, the dance floor was packed, my parents/grandparents got up and dance, I looked across the room and notice three generation on the dance floor it was memorable, impressive, like something I’ve seen in a movie. Sean is now my forever DJ; he will be my go-to for all my future events especially my wedding in 2025. DJSDOT is the BEST DJ is Delaware.
Lastly, at the end of the night, my dad asked Sean if he was available for his wedding anniversary, but he was booked that date, so my mom told my dad to change the date to the date Sean is available.
PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING YOUR WEDDING! I am writing this review regarding our experience with DJ SDot to not only express my deep regret in selecting this vendor, but also to save others from future regret. Music has the ability to move us and as cliché as it may be, music is the soundtrack of our lives. We chose Mr. Perry not only because we believed that he aligned with this philosophy, but also for his budget conscious services, but unfortunately, the cost was indeed emotional for my husband and me. Mr. Perry encourages his clients to utilize the Vibe app to assist him with the song selection. While we utilized his Vibe app to input our song selection, there were several lapses in duties that occurred. While we understand that everything is not going to go perfectly to plan, as human error can play into the mix, it was our expectation that there would be a certain level of attention to detail around key events. Firstly, I feel slighted over my walk down the aisle. For my walk, I had a prerecorded voice note that I wanted to play for my husband right before I walked down the aisle. Since my voice note had not been played, this resulted in a delay of timing of my walk down song. I sent that file to Mr. Perry as discussed and it was not played. It was awful to have found this out after the fact. During the last meeting, we finalized a more appropriate first dance song as well as cake cutting song. We were absolutely caught off guard to have heard him announce a different song. Not having our song is a moment we cannot get back. When the wrong song came on, we essentially felt obligated to “go with it.” The changes were even listed for us on the Vibe app before it was locked. I looked forward to these songs as I could picture my husband and I hearing these songs driving somewhere together and looking at each other and smiling as we reminisced on our moment.I love giving positive feedback to vendors, but I really struggled whether to bring this to the attention of his future clientele or just let it become a laughable moment, and save his DJ reputation, but after continuing to be inundated with his requests for a review via email and text messaging, aside from the remorse I feel listening to the song being played on the radio station that was actually supposed to be our first dance song, it’s truly salt in the wound to constantly be reminded of this unfortunate mishaps. My husband and I had an amazing time on our honeymoon, and it was unfortunate that during that car ride there we were listening to the radio and the song started to play and the disappointment was there again.
Songs were not on the playlist or reflected in the music genres we requested. Towards the end of the night, he proceeded to play mainstream trap music for a generation underrepresented at our wedding. Our guests began to trickle out once Mr. Perry decided to deviate from the agreed upon genre. My husband and I were caught off guard, but similarly as we had done with our first dance, we simply “went with it.” As we began to do a deeper dive into his schedule of events as documented on his social media, we found similarities with our playlist that had been circulated by other weddings and events. I truly regret having hired him.
DJ Sdot helped make our wedding night really special. He did a great job of mixing the songs my wife and I like with the right music to keep a crowd that ran the gamut in terms of age and taste dancing. He really managed to keep the party going all night, while hitting the right tone, and he managed the audio for our ceremony beautifully too.
I was not impressed with DJ SDot. I had a very good experience in the beginning and booked 2 years in advance. I was given an app which listed the activities at the ceremony and reception and was given free reign of songs to choose. I spent a lot of time picking carefully my song choices. A week before the wedding we discussed the song chooses and timeline of the wedding and when the father/daughter dance, cake cutting, etc will occur during the night. At the reception, our married name was pronounced wrong although we corrected him right before the announcement, he forgot the father daughter dance all together and told me I didn’t want it, yet knew exactly which song I chose. I requested no song requests by guests and he played requests. He was drinking during the night as well. Very unprofessional in my opinion.
It’s been a pleasure working with Sean! He answered all of my questions in great detail! He was available whenever I needed him and he made sure I had everything we needed for our day...from the music playlist, the up lighting, song recommendations for the bridal party and he even asked if we needed a fog machine for our first dance! He thought of everything. I really appreciate his professionalism and down to earth personality. His energy was positive and fun, I’m so glad we chose him!
