AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS - BUYER BEWARE: My wife purchased a bridal dress here for our son’s wedding, paying 20% more to get the dress from a bridal shop than from the company’s online retailers. The entire experience was awful. They somehow ‘lost’ the dress! (I do not believe they ever had it.) When we talked to the manager, she said, “Well I know we have some problems.” When the dress finally arrived, we certainly did have some problems...it was ordered three sizes too big! We refused to let them alter the dress, as who knows what we would’ve gotten back (or when). This place is a joke! We spent nearly $300 for the dress and then another $150 for alterations to fix their mistake. Believe the negative reviews written here because these perfectly sum up our experience with this store.

I absolutely fell in love with my wedding dress❤

I visited Frews a few weeks ago after meeting them at a bridal show and if I could give a zero stars I really would. They said if I made an appointment at the show I would get 10% off so I went ahead and planned it. When we arrived a lady approached us very rudely and asked why we were there (not how can I help you? or hi how are you?). When I walked in they made me complete a form I had already completed and informed me I would be helped by a man, Gordon, who had no assistant. I wish I would have been consulted before being paired with a male because I needed help getting in and out of dresses. Luckily my MOH was there and helped me in and out. But we are no pros....we couldnt clip dresses, we had issues zipping dresses...we arent the pros....on top of that, this wasnt my first shop visiting. I had an idea of the dress I wanted from trying on dresses before. He wanted me to have an open mind...okay I will. But when I say I dont like long sleeve dresses because Im getting married in May, please dont grab long sleeve dresses. There were several other things I didnt like about dresses and he didnt listen to me at all. The first 8 dresses HE chose, were all dresses I said I was not interested in for one reason or another. It even got to a point where I tried on one of "his" dresses and when I walked out I said I didnt like it he said remember to have an open mind....okay....its on. I dont like it???? When my MOH confronted him about not listening to my styles he got VERY upset. I had told him previous that I was fitting into size 12s but could slip into anything from a size 8-14, but best in 12s. When my MOH confronted him that I wasn't interested in any of the dresses he chose, my other bridesmaids went to look for dresses they thought I would like, he started yelling at them to only look at size 16 or 18 because 12s are too small for me. Only 16 or 18. Okay, so now youre calling me a liar and youre yelling my dress size across the floor?????? How unprofessional. And Im not sure about you but dress sizes are already a little intimidating I didnt need this person yelling my size across the floor? Maybe its just me but it made me very uncomfortable. Finally I was so unhappy I put my clothes back on and walked out of the dressing room. At this point, Gordon, told me that he wanted me to walk him around and show him what I liked but all of "those girls" are staying there. I picked out three dresses, 2 from the designer I told him originally I was interested in. (He didnt pick any off of that rack even though I said I was interested in it). I tried the three dresses on, at this point his manager must have seen how distressed he was and came over and stood over his shoulder. I tried the three dresses on. I liked one, when he gave me the card with the info on it, he told me I could call to get another appointment and someone else would help me....then FINALLY WE LEFT. We should have left hours before....it was a total waste of not only my time but my friends time. So disappointing. I wish I would have looked at reviews of this place before spending all the time to drive up there....all I have to say is after reading yelp I would have never went there.....hope this saves someone the trip.

These reviews are fake, and Frew's is terrible. I'm speaking for 3 different wedding parties, and 15 different brides and bridesmaids. Never has an order been on time. Never has a dress been properly altered or fitted upon arrival. And never, were any of the patrons even properly charged...a terrible experience, with dresses of overpriced Chinese quality. Show up here WITHOUT an appointment before you commit to the rushed 'champagne toast' and you'll see how bad the service is to begin with...save yourself, but more importantly, your honored guests and maids of honor embarrassment! "30 years" of savage scamming, hopefully it will soon come to an end. Oh, and check out Yelp!

I went here to purchase my dress because i had heard good things. When i went for my appointment I found a dress that I loved. I had a rather large budget to spend but, this dress happened to be on sale. I purchased the dress and upon picking up the dress after it had been pressed and steamed i discover the under part of the dress was dirty to the point that I can not use the wrist strap to bustle my dress even if I wanted to. This was as a result of women trying it on in their store?? How dirty is their floors. I called to discuss this and was told they do not clean the dresses and what did I expect I bought a dress that was on sale. They did offer to spot clean it for an additional charge but I feel that is ridiculous. I paid good money for the dress, alterations, and the veil. I think they should have taken care of it and cleaned the dress like i requested. DO NOT PURCHASE A DRESS OFF THE RACK FROM THEM!!! ONLY BUY NEW

Frew's has a great staff and was very helpful in helping me find the perfect dress! It was nice to also be able to get alterations done here as well as bridesmaids dresses.

Started with a nice glass of free champagne upstairs, only to go back downstairs to look for dresses. Our consultant inquired about my dress preferences and budget only to tell us to help ourselves browse the dozens of racks without her assistance. “Only five dresses in the room at a time!” she said. But what an outdated selection. I picked a few to try on out of pure obligation because of the free champagne. Sure, they have a lot to choose from but it looks like they need to go to a bridal show or two or three to get caught up in bridal trends. Several dresses were even stained with makeup. Time for them to get with the times. When you’re spending a fortune on one dress for one day, it’d be nice for a little more assistance.

I found my dream dress there and I had a lot of fun doing it too! Gordon helped me out and he actually hand-picked my dress for me. I didn't think that was the style I was going for but when I tried it on, it was magical!! Thank you Gordon for making me feel comfortable and helping me make up my mind! Jeannie K.

I booked my appointment while I was at the wedding show at the St. Louis convention center and was told I would have "A private and personal experience with my girls." his words not mine... I showed up at the store and was greeted by my consultant right away... and taken upstairs for a champagne toast with my two friends, when we got upstairs I was told the room was full and we will do it after I shop(that never happened) we went downstairs to shop and my consultant started pulling dresses we grabbed 4 gowns and he took me back to the room to change... there was a total of 5 brides back there trying on dresses... and all of their friends/family so when I came out in a dress I had to wait in line to stand in front of a mirror and then I had complete strangers commenting on the dress I was wearing(NOT private at all) ... I was very rushes so that the next bride could use a mirror that I couldn't talk about the dresses with my friends or actually have time to process the dresses... I did not feel comfortable with saying yes to a dress at all that day even though I found a dress I fell in love with... I am someone who wants the memorable experience with my friends that I will remember forever... that is not something that Frew's offered me at all

I had a really great experience when shopping for my dress at Frew's. We went on a weeknight so it was very quiet and we had a lot of space to ourselves. The women who helped me try on dresses was so sweet and very helpful. So that part of the experience was great. When I picked up my dress after the final alterations and it had been pressed, they gave it to me with a plastic bag over it (literally like one you'd get at Macy's). Look, I am not a snobby person. But we're talking about a really important garment and after taxes/alterations, one that we spent $1600 dollars on. And you're going to had it to me in a branded plastic bag? No. That's really not acceptable. It should absolutely have been in an actual garment bag. When it came time for me to put on my dress - about ten minutes prior to walking down the aisle, my sister hooked it and started zipping, and the hook COMPLETELY broke. Which meant that the zipper wouldn't stay up and in a strapless dress, that is particularly problematic. Thankfully, we were able to rig it up and fix it, but that is just not okay. Thankfully, we found a local seamstress who put on a new hook and I had no issues after that. But what a hassle! Sadly, because of this, I wouldn't recommend Frew's.

a great place to buy your dress, but don't use their alterations or their tux rental. How do you lose a deposit on a tux when there's 6 witnesses there to support that it was paid...? Also why did I waste my gas and time driving out there well before the groomsmen went in to get their tux fitting to pick out what I wanted and then when the guys got there, magically everything I had picked out disappeared? Also, when someone calls and says "hey I'm coming in Saturday at 3pm to get my dress, is that a good time to pick it up and pay the remaining balance?" Don't let the customer stand there for over 45 minutes waiting to pay because the manager said her bill cost 800 dollars when it was only $100 and NOBODY had the "authority" to fix the bill. Well I called 3 days early to make sure everything was set up and ready to go when I got there, so why was nothing set up and ready to go when I got there? Like is your system busted? what's happening here? Update: And now that we went to get the tux, they gave two of my guys the wrong sizes tux and were extremely rude to my fiancé when he brought to their attention they were charging us wrong for the rental. Also they basically said "oh well" when all of these issues were brought to their attention. definition of a company that only cares about scamming customers out of money.

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Frew's, working with Taylor, and ended up with my dream dress. A beautiful store, too and a fun location.

I bought my wedding dress from Frews and it was exactly what I was looking for. Their consultant Sam, was a Godsend! She was so sweet and made sure to say hi to me every time I came into the store and greeted me with a hug. Such a sweet person. She is totally why I am giving this review a 4/5. If I could separately review alterations, it would be more like a 1/5. Alterations was a completely different story. My seamstress was Svetlana. The first time I put my dress on when I purchased it, everyone mentioned how it was such a perfect fit. The dress was on sale and I bought it as is (they didn't order me a new one as the dress had been discontinued, hence the clearance/on sale)....therefore it was 50% off. It was such a great fit, minus the length. Svetlana made me feel absolutely terrible about myself. The first time I came in for alterations, she told me I needed to lose 10 pounds. I was in pretty good shape as my wedding was approaching and being fairly short, 10 pounds is a big deal and I knew it wasn't going to happen. Not to mention, her comment was wildly inappropriate to say and extremely rude. Also, I did not see anything wrong with my dress. It fit me like I remembered and I was comfortable sitting and standing in it. I DID NOT lose 10 pounds, I lost maybe 2 and at my next appointment she couldn't stop saying how excited she was about how well it fit. Mind you, she did NOT take the dress out at all. Several things were wrong with the dress and my matron of honor found many of the issues and presented them to Svetlana who was less than thrilled. Many of my buttons and the loops were loose and nearly falling off, the tool underlay was longer than the lace part of the dress and it could be seen (and it shouldn't have been visible), her cuts on the underlayers of the dress were crooked and there were many loose threads that needed to be cut off of the dress. My bussle on my dress broke at the end of my reception even though she ensured me I only needed 1 bussle and it would support the weight of my dress. It did not, clearly. 2 of my 3 bridesmaids had terrible times with their alterations as well. 3 days before my wedding, one of my bridesmaids dresses was literally falling off of her in the chest area as it was way too big and her seamstress told her 'it's not that bad'. She demanded it be fixed and it finally was corrected after sitting in the bridal salon for 2 hours. With my junior bridesmaid, we stood at their counter for 45 minutes waiting for her to be sized (which took a grand total of 15 seconds to complete), after we were told 3 different people would come by to measure her. We were passed by each time. Sales department is great when you are in the process of purchasing your dress. What goes on after that is pretty disastrous.

We went through Frews during their annual sale and got a great deal on the perfect dress. Unfortunately the alteration costs didn't make it seem like we saved much money. The dress looked perfectly altered but was very difficult to bustle and it came undone a few times throughout the evening. I also got my necklace and earrings from the salon which I think gave me a reaction the next day. I would ask in future if they have sterling silver and such.

Everyone that helped me find my wedding dress was wonderful all the way from the front desk, the one who helped me find my perfect dress, and all the way to alterations. The environment itself is beautiful and so charming. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!

We chose Frew's because of its beautiful historic building and its big selection of dresses. My only complaint is their website makes it hard to see what is in stock. But they have a huge selection in stock and once I figured out how to navigate their web site through a chat with them I was really happy. Bought the first dress we tried on and picked out a flower girl dress. Great shopping in a beautiful comfortable shop.

Absolutely FURIOUS with Frew’s Bridal in Alton, IL. So I won a $500 gift card to Frew’s from a bridal show a few weeks ago. I was super excited, but since I had already bought my wedding dress, I decided to have my bridesmaids buy their dresses there and I would get some accessories. So we made the trip, my two bridesmaids, my mom, and myself. First off, the girl in charge of our appointment might of well not have bothered. She was barely around at all, she never helped pick out dresses or give advice, she didn’t help my bridesmaids try on anything, all she did was bring us a color swatch when we asked for it. However, without her help, we picked out a dress, and I picked out some shoes (just so happened to find a pair I liked from the inventory of about 6 choices), and did not find a garter since they only had 2 in stock and looked like they were from 1978. I had them write down all my choices in my file and said I would come back another time to order everything since I had left my gift card at home and they insisted I had to have it in the flesh for them to use. That was fine though, I wanted to look at garters on their website to have them order one along with the bridesmaid dresses. So I came in TWO days later to order and it was a disaster from the start. The first lady that helped me couldn’t even find the bridesmaid dress in the computer system. Luckily, we found the dress on the rack and she was still not able to find it in the system so she was done for at that point. The next lady that “helped” me, Connie, must have been my mortal enemy in a past life because she instantly was snotty, rude, and disregarded everything I had to say. She said they would have to put the dress style in the system first and that they couldn’t do it tonight. No idea the logic behind that, the dress is not new from what I can tell. So I ask for the shoes in my size and Connie snottily makes the other lady go get them for me while she looks at my gift card. She then informs me that the gift card is for wedding dresses only, and I tell her that I already called the manager before this trip and she said I could use it for bridesmaid dresses, shoes, etc. She reluctantly agrees to this, but then happily she notices that on the gift card it says “IN STOCK ONLY”. So not only can I not get my bridesmaid dresses ordered and use the gift card, I also cannot order a garter from their website. I can only choose from the sweat stained and ripped dresses that a million other girls have tried on. Even then, what are the odds we find a dress I like, in the right size and the right color from the floor? Connie recommended I choose a wedding dress from the floor. I told her that I already had a wedding dress, and after a couple minutes of explaining that difficult fact, she recommended I buy a prom dress. I am a 26 year old tomboy- I don’t need a prom dress. Well she didn’t like that I shot down that great idea so her attitude deteriorated even more. I tell her screw it I will buy the only thing I want in stock, the shoes, so can she ring me up. She does, and then tells me what I owe for tax. So I have to pay tax on my own and its not included in the gift card. What’s the point of the gift card? Clearly, it was never meant to be actually used and because of all this dishonestly and poorly handled situation by even lousier employees I will NEVER go to Frew’s again and always discourage others from wasting their time there.

Highly recommend going to Frew's Bridal. After going to many other bridal shops, Frew's was hands down the best choice! Best selection of wedding dresses and Taylor was amazing to work with. She is patient, kind and knows her inventory. We are very pleased with our experiences at Frew's and said YES to the dress here! Can't wait to get my dress in and have our wedding! Thank you Frew's :)

My bridesmaids and I came to Frew's to look at dresses. Their website is amazing and can help you pinpoint exactly what dresses are in stock to try on. However, they don't have much in the way of plus-sized samples, so my bigger girls had to watch my smaller girls try everything on. Since I was a plus-sized bride, I found another bridal shop with a much larger selection of plus-sized styles, and ordered my bridesmaid dresses there too. It's a shame, because everyone there is incredibly friendly and helpful.

Absolutely loved my dress. Everytime I went back to get a fitting I loved it even more. everyone was friendly and prepared to give me great service.

I really wish I could give a zero star rating. My mom, two sisters, my Mamaw, and step dad came with me to Frew's to try and find my wedding dress. We drove 4 hours. When I got there I was treated wonderfully, the lady helping me was super nice, and I even found my wedding dress! I got all "jacked" up with my dress and my mom said she wanted to order everything, the dress and all the accessories that I had on. We paid the deposit to get the dress ordered. When we got there three weeks ago to get my dress, at first they couldn't find my dress and then finally found it after sending three people to look for it. Then they couldn't find the accessories. Found out that even though the girl who had helped me showed us she ordered them, she never did. After an hour of waiting for them to find everything the manager came to help us and was absolutely rude and kept saying that we "didn't communicate fully with our sales associate the first time" like it was our fault she didn't understand "We want to buy it all". Went to try on my dress to make sure it fit correctly, the manager barely tied the dress and rushed us to get it all. If it's not your first time there they treat you terribly. Then, I had my first alterations fitting this week and found out they did my measurements wrong and my dress is 2 1/2 sizes too big. So now I'll be spending just as much in alterations as I did in buying the dress. Just make sure you check everything at least three times. The only positive experience I had was my mom bought me a beautiful dress. I can't wait to get my accessories finally and be done with this place.

I had great expectations of Frew's before we went. I had met the owners at the Stl Bridal Show and liked them a lot but unfortunately had a horrible experience for my first dress shopping trip. I got a bad vibe right from the beginning. There was one person at the front desk as we walked in. Felicia asked what we were there for and when we said we had an appointment for trying on dresses, she ran upstairs to find someone to help. When she came back downstairs she told me and my family we could start looking around because she couldn't leave the desk alone (right after she just did to go upstairs). She then came back and said she was going to pull some dresses and help me into them. After getting started and we all got a feel of what I was looking for, my family attempted to find more dresses while I was away in the dressing room, only to get their "hand slapped" by Felicia when they pulled something. She should have given us more guidance before the appointment if we weren't supposed to do certain things. Her attitude was all wrong the entire appointment. She was trying way to hard to pretend she was on a TV show. She never once asked about the style of my wedding or my fiance or the venue. Even if I had found THE dress that night, it seemed she had already decided we were not buying anything at that time. She kept saying that she would give us notes so we could look online at home or when we went somewhere else. Never did she say, when we came back there to look again.

Frew's was great from start to finish. They had a large dress selection to choose from and a good variety of prices. The staff was helpful and very knowledgeable. Along with purchasing my dress from Frew's, I also had alterations done in house and they did a wonderful job. I had a two point bustle put in and it was easy to use and lasted. I would defiantly recommend them to anyone in the area.

By far the best customer service I have encountered. I said yes to the dress and yes to the grooms tuxes. Most affordable and classy looking tuxes I could find

Everyone at Frew's was so nice and easy to work with!

I had a great experience at Frew's. I worked with Loren who was amazing, she was attentive, complimentary, and got a good idea of what I was looking for and was able to pull dresses that I actually liked. My customer service experience with Loren was better than any other store I visited, which is the biggest reason I purchased from Frew's. They also carry multiple lines, price ranges, and styles. So, I was able to find the dress that I had been looking for.

The dress I bought was perfect but on my wedding day the alterations that I had did not hold up. I had three bustles put in to hold up my dress and ALL THREE BROKE!

I had a fantastic experience with Frew’s. I planned my wedding in only 5 months. I started dress shopping with 4 months until my wedding. I made appointments at 5 or 6 different dress shops in the area. Most were fine, but didn’t have exactly what I was looking for. When I advised my consultant at Frew’s of my fast approaching wedding date, she went the extra mile to show me even more dresses than they usually show. I tried on at least 15 different dresses. I found a couple “maybes” and decided to do one last lap around the store and I ended up finding “the” dress. I ended up buying off the rack because my dress wouldn’t come in until October and my wedding was in September but there was absolutely nothing wrong with my dress and it looked brand new. I am not giving a full 5 stars only because the alterations department was rude on the phone, but the lady who did my fittings was very sweet and kind. I have had SO many people compliment my dress. At least twenty people have told me they loved my dress and said it is their favorite wedding dress. Thanks Frew’s!

What can I say. They sell some beautiful dresses but their construction, follow-up and professionalism leaves much to be desired. My dress and my bridesmaids all ordered dresses from here. We found out very quickly that once they sell you the dress and take your money they treat you like you are an inconvenience and a bother to them. One of my bridesmaids tried on a size 2 dress at their shop and it fit perfect. When it came in and she tried it on it was ordered in a size 0 and didn't fit at all. We asked why it wasn't sized correctly and the lady said thats why we have a seamstress here. They said that their girls that measure are not seamstress. Then why are they letting them measure me for a dress that i paid them $1500 for. They didn't want to fix their mistake, they just wanted me to pay more money for alterations. One of my other girls dress was order over 6 inches to long and her whole top of the dress separated shortly after the ceremony. Again we asked why it wasn't ordered the right length and we asked them to fix their mistake. They said they would fix it but it would be at my expense. My other bridesmaids who weighs 120lbs was measured and her dress came in as a size 14! We couldn't believe it. If you are looking for a great company that employs good honest people that stand behind their products and services DON'T GO HERE! I insure you will be greatly DISAPPOINTED like i was. They want your money but thats it. This is the first review i have ever made online because i usually don't have time to right reviews. But this time myself and my bridesmaids were so disappointed in their workmanship, craftsmanship, and professionalism that i made it a point to sit down and write a review. I want others not to waste their hard earned money at a place like this. BUYERS BEWARE!

I live in St Louis and went to some bridal salons searching for the best wedding dress! I found what I felt was the one and saw that Frew's was about the same plus they had bonuses for their brides and maids too. I went out one day on a trip to Alton, IL and it was so worth it! I had amazing service by my wedding stylist Loren and she was so awesome to work with. I tried on many gowns and didn't find any that I felt was as perfect as the Mori Lee dress I saw. They didn't carry my dress, but could order it and a bonus I could get credit for shoes or a veil-so I opted for a gorgeous cathedral length veil. They also gave my maids discounts on their dresses too and made the whole experience awesome! I have used them in the past for 2 other weddings and was not disappointed and trusted in the same for my wedding-that it will work out great. I received my dress in amazement within a month and was relieved as I had time to also lose more weight and find the right accessories. They did in shop hemming too and bustling which was worth every trip back. I also bought another gown for my reception here on a sale they had. Totally worth the drive to get great service and prices on designer gowns. We all loved our Mori Lee dresses!

The only reason I am not giving Frew's one star is because of the girl who initially sold me my dress, Jenny. We went in with a set budget, and while I picked 10 dresses way over that budget, she selected my perfect, incredible dress for half my max spend. She was awesome, and the only good thing about Frew's. I cannot stress enough how much you should avoid their alterations department. They told me they could handle it all in-house. I was hesitant, as I live well over an hour from Alton, but liked the idea of keeping it all in one place. I had to come back for a separate appointment for them to mark how I wanted it altered. No big deal, not ideal, but ok. Then, on my next appointment, when I was told my alterations would be finished, I drive out there, only to find they hadn't TOUCHED my dress since the last time. No changes made, pins still in the dress. So, we schedule yet another appointment. I drive out there again, and this time, only half of the alterations had been made. This time, I refused to leave until they made the rest of the changes, and one very sweet seamstress stayed late to finally alter my dress correctly. Then, I return from my wedding and honeymoon (out of the country), to four voicemails and a letter from Frew's, saying they ran my card wrong, and the cost of the alterations hadn't been charged. This was especially frustrating, as I still didn't feel I should be paying full price for them, given it took three times as many appointments as I was promised. With the exception of that one last seamstress (I wish I could remember her name), the attitude was exceptionally blase. There were zero apologies for my additional trips, no explanations for nothing being finished, and most important, a very rude, indifferent tone from almost everyone I worked with. Do. Not. Use. Frew's. If you'd like to pick your dress there, go for it, but take it elsewhere for alterations.

I will give Frew's Bridal 5 stars for the day that I went to try on and find my bridal gown. However for the alterations that followed I would give Frew's 1 star. I said "yes to the dress" at Frew's in July. I was very happy because I was not getting married until the following July and had one major wedding factor out of the way. When it was order I was told it would be at the store sometime in November. Another bonus was that the dress was delivered to the store in September and I went in for my first fitting soon after. This is when the issues began. I had had a couple fittings from November to February. When I went for my February fitting I was told the next fitting would be my final one and I would be able to take the dress home. I went for my next fitting and nothing had been finished on the dress. I was told that because the back of my dress was so intricate, they wanted to double check all pins were placed correctly (I appreciated that) I was then told my next fitting at the end of May would be my final fitting. It was not. I showed up and the entire back of the dress was pinned to the front. Major tears were happening at this fitting. Almost 2 months and my dress was basically taken apart and pinned together. The excuse I got was that it was prom season and the store was busy, even though I had bought my dress 9 months before and had given them plenty of time to work on my dress before prom season. I gave the store 2 more weeks to finish my dress. I showed up in June, my dress was finished, it fit perfectly but the amount of time and the excuses that I received when Frew's had a year was unacceptable. I would highly recommend buying a dress here, the staff is friendly and I did not feel pressured or rushed. The prices are reasonable as well. I did not have to spend an arm and a leg to look fabulous on my wedding day. But once the dress is purchased, find a different place for alterations.

I was hoping to use a family shop instead of a chain, and Frew's was at all the bridal shows. But I was very disappointed in Frew's. I'm a curvy woman, and I was on a budget. I made an appointment, but the shop was utterly swamped when I arrived. I waited a long time before the attendant spoke to me. As soon as she met me, she lost interest in really helping me. I told her what I was looking for - ball gown, not strapless - and she brought me three dresses nothing like what I'd requested and all in the wrong size. The undergarments necessary to wear the dresses also were in the wrong size, and she merely shrugged and said there was nothing she could do. My maid of honor was with me, and after we left she really encapsulated what bothered me about it. "It's like they already decided if you didn't fit their picture of what a bride should look like, they don't have anything for you," she said. I'd like to think that I merely caught them on a very bad day, and that the attendant wasn't truly rude and simply had too many other customers to juggle. But curvy women: I think you can do better.

My dress was absolutely GORGEOUS!! Everyone at Frew's was very helpful in picking dresses for me to try on and offering advice for what looked best. The experience at Frew's was much better than the shop I initially went to, and the dresses were significantly cheaper. We also got our bridesmaid dresses from Frew's, and they were great as well! I couldn't be happier with all the dresses.

The salon was wonderful! It's beautiful (if a little dark) and the salesladies were very professional and easy to work with. They suggested gowns in my price range and were happy to help with the whole process (despite my tiny budget). They did my alterations as well and did a very nice job with the hemming and bustling. I would recommend them to any future bride!

I found my dream dress at Frew's and was so happy! When I was measured for the dress they chose to order a size up. The dress was huge and they ended up having to redo everything, even the cups. I also added cap sleeves to the gown and they ended up better than the other 7 dress fittings, but it took a lot of driving and a lot of frustration to get it correct. The ladies there really do want to help, there is just a lack of communication since the lady helping you is never the lady doing the work. The shop is beautiful and so much fun. I just suggest getting all the needed alterations in writing. I have three friends that also had bad experiences with the alterations, yet amazing experiences with the shop!

Last January when I was newly engaged I met the Frew's people at a Bridal Show in downtown St. Louis. They were the only shop that caught my interest with their knowledge of my favorite designer and information about their shop. Last weekend I went dress shopping on my birthday and it was a great experience. This was the first shop I tried dress on dresses at and I found the one. I was a little disappointed that the designer I've been dreaming about for almost a year was not available in my size at the store (it could be ordered) but was surprised that I fell in love with a different dress by a designer not even on my radar. Their staff knows their stuff. They really made my birthday very special. Thank you so much!

I went to Frew's Bridal yesterday with 4 of my girlfriends and was very impressed with the staff. The consultant with whom I worked (can't remember her name but she was amazing) was very kind and sweet and helped me pull dresses. She was in the room with me helping me lace up my dresses, did not pressure me whatsoever, and was just extradorinaiy helpful. I ended up saying "yes to the dress" but then we had complications in trying to figure out what length I needed to order. Alterations was unavailable to help guide our decision, so I ended up leaving without the dress. It turned out well because today, I ended up purchasing a different dress from elsewhere, but I still have nothing but lovely things to say abut Frew's. I believe that I will probably go there for their accessories because they are far less expensive than the others.

I had visited several bridal shops prior to my appointment at Frew's Bridal. I have to say I was absolutely blown away by this shop! First of all they had, by far, the BEST selection of wedding gowns out of anywhere I had ventured prior in my search for "The Dress". Second the staff was so kind and helpful. I worked with Jennie who was beyond amazing. She really helped me focus on what I wanted and paid so much attention, not just to me and my feedback, but also to the rest of my party and what they had to say. She asked very thought provoking questions that really helped me start to visualize and narrow down what exactly I was looking for. Jennie ended up grabbing the dress that became MY DRESS for me, and snuck it in with all the others for me to try. On top of ALL that, they are extremely affordable, and I even wound up getting a veil for free with the purchase of my gown. I would recommend this bridal shop to ANYONE. Look no further, this place is great all around!!!! They also have a large selection for bridesmaid's and men's attire. My entire wedding party will be using Frew's now too!

My experience at Frew's was great! The consultants listened to what I wanted, allowed me to browse the gowns on my own as well as pulled gowns they thought fit what I was looking for. They never pulled a gown that was over my budget without asking first. They were patient and helpful!

I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of designers and cost of dresses after looking several places. The only downfall was that most styles only came in one size to physically try on. Although the staff was very helpful trying to find similar styles, I had maids from a size 0 to a 16, which made this difficult. We went off of measurements and most were pretty right on. Would go back again!

I went to Frew's to find my dress. If was the first and only place I went for my wedding dress. My consultant was very friendly and helpful. They have a huge selection of dresses. I never felt rushed, I got to take my time and try on a lot of dresses. I found my dress and didn't want to take it off. It was a great price too. The only complaint I have is when we went to look at bridesmaids dresses. Our consultant kept disappearing and they weren't even busy that day. I had questions and would have to track her down. We ended up going to another shop for bridesmaid dresses. They were great with my alterations and my dress fit perfect.

I would compare my experience at Frew's to that of purchasing a car. This was my first time shopping for dresses and I left the store mortified and in tears. I was told upon arrival that the sales consultant would pull a few dresses of her choice for me to try on, which is fine, but I also explained that I was having a wedding in Mexico and wanted something light weight. I was unable to browse the gowns comfortably because she was constantly over my shoulder and I felt overwhelmingly rushed so I grabbed a few gowns and headed towards the fitting room. During the process I had not one, not two, but three random people barge into the room will I was undressing. I was able to try on a total of 8 dresses before I had a melt down. It was taking the consultant forever to help me into gowns and then when it was time to try on another one she would spend an average of ten minutes hanging the other one up. The girl in the fitting room next to me tried on about twenty gowns in the time it took me to try on four. Then she would get me in a gown and not pull down the slip all the way and forget to hook the built in bras and everything looked like a sloppy mess. I found a dress that I loved and it was a little big so I thought she would clip it and she basically just told me to walk out and hold it close to my body to get an idea of what it looked like. Really, I'm supposed to spend $2,000 on a dress at your store and just get an idea of what it would look like? I left Frew's and walked in at another bridal shop and tried on 12 dresses in a half hour and the girl clipped me into dresses that were too big so I could see what the perfect fit would be. I was so looking forward to Frew's but left so disappointed and frustrated and will never recommend this place to anyone! And to make matters worse there was a screaming newborn baby in the fitting area. Not the fun relaxing experience I hoped for. If your consultant is Connie run for the hills. Oh, and she pulled about four gowns of her choice and was adamant that I try them on after I told her I did not like any of them. So basically I spent an hour trying on dresses Connie wanted me to try on.

Going to Frew's was an amazing experience. They had such a huge variety of dresses at a large variety of prices as well. I got a beautiful dress at an exceptional price. There staff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you for making me feel beautiful on my wedding day!

Frew's was the third bridal shop I visited on my hunt for a wedding dress. My parents and I came determined to find the gown. The lady I worked with (Mary) was very helpful. I appreciated that she was honest and also supportive. She listened to my likes and dislikes and she pulled the final dress before I was going to wrap up the appointment and it ended up being the one! I have gone to Frew's three times (purchase, alterations, final fitting) and each time the staff person I dealt with were so sweet! I am super excited to wear my Sophia Tolli gown on my wedding day!!

And the alterations were done really well too!

I bought my bridal gown from Frew's. It was the second store I went to and my lucky day. I didn't know they were having a sale and lucky for me the dress I ended up with fit perfectly and was 70% off! It was gorgeous! Two of my bridesmaids also ordered their dresses from Frews. One was measured wrong and came in too small. They said they couldn't order another in time. Luckily they were able to fix it. However they were going to make my bridesmaid pay for the alterations, even after they admitted they measured her wrong! She talked to a manager and eventually didn't have to pay.

Luckily, when I went in for my first appointment, I knew exactly what I wanted for a dress... My attendant was not friendly, not outgoing, had very little knowledge, and not helpful whatsoever. Unfortunately, she was like that for both appointments I had - not exactly a personality well-suited for sales. She also told me that I would need to come in immediately for alterations (the wedding was 9 months away) - and I was told that was wrong by the alterations dept after double-checking. Furthermore, she told me that with the purchase of the dress I would receive a veil and shoes at no cost... to which I was later informed that there was a maximum amount; if the items exceeded that, I'd be responsible for the balance. Also, when I bought my dress, I had a 20% off coupon from theknot... There was no "fine print" on the coupon, or restrictions. However, the manager refused to take the coupon because my dress was already discounted since it was a discontinued dress. Alterations started out better...... however, each time I had a fitting (3), they had "forgotten" to do something that had been discussed the last fitting, requiring me to come back additional times. Once, when I mentioned that something hadn't been done, the alterations attendant (I had a different one each time) finally saw a post-it note on the tag and exclaimed, "Oh, I didn't see the note." So, the 2nd-to-last time I went in, I was told that they would do the bustle, press the dress, and I would be able to take it home during the next fitting. I showed up and the bustle hadn't been done and the straps weren't done as discussed. Given that this was just over a week before the wedding, I asked them to ship it to me. I received it a few days later - and the bustle was done incorrectly and straps were too loose. I immediately called to discuss how to fix the problem - this was now a week before the wedding. I calmly explained the problem to the alterations manager, and told her my frustrations with how every time I came in something wasn't done, and the lack of communication between staff, and she got upset and hung up on me. No joke. So I called back and requested to talk to someone else... I was refunded the cost of the bustle, but nothing else. And I walked around the reception with half a train still (people continuously asking me if they wanted to fasten my bustle... which was fastened) and people stepping on the "train" because the bustle was done so poorly. So, in short - horrible service here. I'm not needy, or dramatic. I just expect that my wedding dress be done correctly, especially for the price.

I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from Frews. Being across the nation, they had to get measured at a local place then call in the measurements. Every one of them were told something different when they called in. Some wanted to pay up front, and were told they can only pay the deposit. Some said they needed their dress mailed and it was marked as a pick up. Because I constantly called it all worked out fine, but just annoying.

I bought my dress from Frew's off the rack for a reasonable price and had my alterations done there as well. I scheduled an appointment to try on gowns and was surprised and extremely pleased by the undivided attention of the employee during my time in the shop! She dedicated herself to making me happy and really made me feel like a special bride! I was also extremely satisfied with their alterations department. They were professional and talented.

As a plus size bride it is extremely difficult to find stores that offer plus size samples in store. I was referred to Frew's Bridal and couldn't be happier with my experience there. They have SO MANY DRESSES it is unbelievable. I was able to try on every style dress imaginable and able to find the right shape for my body type. I wasn't rushed through my appointment, or told that I had to be done in an hour (unlike other stores I had been too). I found the prefect dress! This should be the first and only stop for not only plus size brides both every bride looking for their dress. The options are endless, it is a one stop shop!

I bought my wedding dress at Frew's. It was on sale and I bought it off the rack. I got a great price! I also ordered my bridesmaid dresses from them. We did have one mix up with the bridesmaids dresses, one came in a size much to small. They were able to get another dress in time and apologized for the mistake. Good customer service.

I purchased two dresses from Frew's, a long wedding gown, and then a reception gown. Both were gorgeous. I had a great experience when I tried dresses on!

I lucked out and found a discontinued gown during a sample sale - I ended up paying a little over $300 for a gorgeous designer gown. My wedding dress has been the number one thing people have complimented about the wedding, and no one can tell that it was so affordable!!!! The only downside about the shop is that some of the employees are clueless - especially in alterations. I was scheduled to have an alterations appointment in which my gown was to be hemmed (I'm short!) - and when I drove the hour to the store, they informed me that the gown needed to be pressed before it could be decided how much to hem it. I wish they had told me that before I drove 2 hours roundtrip!

I got my dress here during one a their sales. It was recommended to me by my cousin and I am very pleased with my decision to go here. The women were very helpful and the selection was great.

This was the first store I tried on any dresses at, and a I had a girl named Tara helping me who was very polite and helpful in noticing what styles of dress I liked and didn't like, but I didn't quite find "the dress" and it was the first store I tried so I kept looking around. A couple months later I ended up going to some other dress shops and finding the one. They had specials going on at Frew's for $170 off accessories, and I had booked my appointment with them at a bridal show so I was supposed to get 10% off so I decided I would order the dress I found elsewhere through Frew's. I made an appointment to go in for measurements and determine what size and finalize everything. My appointment was 2 hours before closing on a Wednesday afternoon - not exactly a high traffic time, but the two associates at the counter didn't have much time for me and then asked me if I was sure I had an appointment (why would I make that up?) because I wasn't in the computer, but she said they would measure me anyway. The lady who measured me (whose name I did not get) was in a huge hurry (although I saw nobody else waiting in the store to cause her to rush with me) and after she measured me she asked me what size I wanted to order. I'm sorry, I thought that was her job to determine, I don't know how different designer's sizes run!? I told her if she couldn't figure it out I would just go somewhere else so finally she said no let's try on a few of that designer and see what we come up with. So she found me a few hideous dresses to try on and the entire time was commenting that it was mostly my hips and waist she was worried about and pointing out all my flaws. I was getting upset, not because of what she was telling me, but because of her attitude. Buying a wedding dress is a pretty important purchase for most women, and she was rushing me along and not making me feel pretty in any of them as she pointed on my flaws. Finally she guessed on a size and we were getting ready to order when she couldn't find any of my personal information from the last time I was in the store. That was about the final straw for me. If this store can't keep track of my appointment or my information card, how can I trust them to keep track of my dress? I ended up leaving in tears because she was so rude, and she never even asked how she could make it better or to let me speak with a manager or anyone else who might have time for me. Clearly she was in a hurry and had her own issues and didn't care about selling the dress. I drove to the other bridal store and purchased my gown there where the ladies were absolutely lovely and even though I was there at closing they offered to stay late if I wanted more time to decide, and the owner even gave me a hug. If you prefer a huge store where you will see someone different every time you go in, then maybe this is the place for you, but it certainly wasn't for me. I would happily pay a few hundred dollars more to be treated with respect. Side note - the 10% off from a bridal show and the $170 toward accessories cannot be combined, and the $170 is only toward certain brands so what seemed good on the outside wasn't as good of a deal when the details came out.

I went to Frew’s with another dress on my mind, the consultant declared she was going to beat that dress and that she did. I fell in love with a Casablanca she pulled, and the only reason I didn’t walk out of the store with it then and there is best my best friend wasn’t there to give his much needed approval. She told me she would write it on my card and I could come back and try it on for him. I currently live in KY and he lives in TN, so it was no little task finding a weekend when we could both come to IL to see the dress one last time before I bought it. Finally, a weekend came and I called to make my appointment. I told them I only wanted to try on the one dress on my card and then I would be most likely purchasing it. My appointment came and low and behold they sold the sample dress between the time I made my appointment and the actual appointment. When I pushed them on why they didn’t call me to notify me considering I was only coming for that specific dress, they claimed they could not find my card and didn't know which dress I was coming in for. Needless to say I was infuriated, especially taking into consideration the amount of time we both wasted traveling to IL. Without a doubt, I will be purchasing my dress from another store. I understand that Frew’s is a large store and deals with many brides, however, with such an important purchase consideration goes a long way.

I visited Frew's because they were having a sample sale, little did I know that I would end up buying my dress that day! My mom and I went just because of the sale, so we didnt have an appointment. Even though they were busy, someone found time to take care of us and give us a wonderful experience. They let me stand in the dress in front of the mirror for 45 minutes trying to decide if it was my dress or not. My favorite part was my seamstress. She was great! So friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted. I can't say enough good things about her. I recommend Frew's to everyone I know!!!!

I found the perfect dress at another store. I had been shopping at Frew's previously and liked the service I got so I wanted to get my dress from them. When I called to get a price on my dress I told them that the store I found it in was offering $100 off and asked if they could match that. They matched it with no problem and would also give me a free pair of shoes. When I went in to order the dress I asked if it would be possible to get a hoop instead of shoes since I already had shoes. Again, no problem. My dress came in and I went to try it on. Almost a perfect fit. I asked for a hoop and I took it home that day. My husband and I got married in Vegas and I was discussing this with the consultant and one of the managers. I had no idea how to get my big tulle dress to Vegas. They offered to ship it for me for free without my even asking! They normally give free shipping for orders placed on their website, but since I am local I did not need shipping. They did not have to do this and I greatly appreciated having one less thing to worry about. I called to set up shipping to our hotel and the lady I talked to had me email the address. It arrived in Vegas in 6 days and was waiting for me when I got there! Thank you Mary for your help!!!

Went to this shop on a Friday afternoon, Memorial Day weekend, and they had a great sale going on for the holiday!! They had a fantastic selection of reasonably-priced dresses and the consultants were very helpful.

I had been to other bridal shops before Frew's but the others couldn't beat their customer service. They understood my budget and didn't show me anything that they knew I couldn't afford. They really helped bring together my vision of my wedding with the beautiful dress that I bought.

I got my wedding dress and all my bridesmaids dresses from here. They carry so many different lines and found one I fell in love with. They beat all the competitors prices and the alterations were extremely reasonable. Which is why I continued to drive an hour each way to keep coming back. Everyone was friendly and professional, the seamstress wouldn't let me leave until it was perfect. There was a problem with the bridesmaids dresses not coming back when they were supposed to, but they were extremely proactive and contacted the dressmaker line and made sure we had them on time!

I had been to several places to look for a dress, and had loved lots of dresses, but it wasn't until I went to Frew's until I found "THE ONE" I loved the atmosphere of the shop and the girl that helped me was so friendly. I explained kind of what I wanted and she found my dream dress! Then with their on site alterations they helped make sure it was perfect (after I lost almost 50 lbs!) for the big day. Huge selection with great customer service!

I got both my gown and my bridesmaids dresses at Frew's. I highly recommend Annie, not really anyone else. Some of the ladies weren't very friendly. I am a very skinny girl, and Mary called me a dinosaur when I bent over because my spine stuck out. I did score a discount and a $400.00 credit for shoes/accessories for signing up at a bridal show!!

I have very mixed feeling about Frew's. The manager (Cheryl, I think her name is) is AWESOME. So nice, professional, responsible and seems truly happy for her brides. Some of their other employees are very bad. The first woman I worked with gave me so much incorrect information. I was going to buy a dress "off the rack" and she told me it was full price. It was not; they offer a 15% discount for buying a dress they have in store. She told me the wrong time-frame for alterations and didn't listen to anything I said about what I was looking for. A customer who was trying on dresses at the same time had a different saleswoman who told her about their sale dresses upstairs. My person never mentioned this. When I overheard and asked my lady, she said she could go upstairs and pull dresses for me since customers aren't allowed up there. I described in great detail what I was and wasn't looking for. She brought back dresses that weren't even close to what I had described. I asked her to go back 2 more times and didn't bring back anything close. The other customer found a beautiful $800 dress that her saleswoman found for her. I was disappointed that mine couldn't find anything I even wanted to try on. When I decided to take the dress I had initially found, I had to speak with the manager to get the full details since I knew my salesperson didn't have correct information. I made another appointment to come back a few days later to try on the dress one last time and buy it and intentionally didn't want to use this same lady. Unfortunately, the next woman I had was similarly incompetent. Again, I knew I had to save up my questions and find Cheryl to make sure I had the true information. Both of these women were very nice, but everytime I go back, for fittings or to buy my accessories, I know I have to ask Cheryl to really get any important question answered. I would recommend this place to other brides, however, I would run any important questions by Cheryl.

Frew's bridal has a large variety of dresses in all price ranges! It's a great place to buy your dress. They also have off the rack dresses, which is awesome. Their alterations are also very reasonably priced.

I found Frew's via their online store and even though I was hesitant (several disappointing trips), I made the drive from O'Fallon, MO to Alton with my mom, man of honor and maid of honor. I had an appt. and our bridal consultant was so warm and comforting. She was very encouraging as well. As a plus-sized woman, I had already faced the sizing issue then had to face the "don't you want to look like a chunky princess" thing. None of that happened at Frew's. I tried on 10 dresses (most places don't even have that many styles for big girls!!) and the last one was THE ONE. I was very surprised that I fell in love with my dress since that wasn't what I pictured myself wearing. Even if you're not a plus-size, the selection is amazing. Plus they offer comps if you spend a certain amount. I got my fascinator, my necklace and earrings, a ring and my mom's earrings for FREE. Beat that competitors!!!

I definitely got the dress of my dreams! I found a dress at Frew's that I had never even seem something similar to it before. I wanted something different, but still elegant. The customer service was great and Angie was so helpful! I received endless compliments on the dress. The only problems I had were that I made appts for fittings and I had to wait both times while they were helping walk-ins (prom season of course) and that my bustle fell out half way through the night. Linda the alterations lady did a great job with a difficult dress to bustle, I'm not sure if anything was going to hold that train in place.

This was possibly my worst dress appointment/experience ever. I live over an hour away and was running late and called the store to make sure it was ok or if I needed to reschedule. I wish I had been told it was a problem so I could have rescheduled. Upon arrival it took about 15 minutes before anyone ever asked if I needed help. After I mentioned I had an appointment it took another 15/20 minutes for the lady to come out to help me and start pull dresses. I overheard her complaining about me being late so I guess no one told her I called. The store was completely empty except for one other lady trying on dresses, so I don’t know why it was an issue. There is a very poor selection of dresses for plus size brides in the store. My gown that I purchased at David's Bridal is a 22. The lady at this location kept bringing enormous dresses that were sizes 24 and up that swallowed me up, and she refused to use clips. She made me feel as if I was the largest bride she ever worked with. She also kept mentioning the price for every dress as if I couldn't afford them. I had to tell her my price was $1500 and under. None of the hideous dresses she showed me even cost that much. The one dress I found on my own that I liked she acted as if my time was up and I couldn't try it on. The service I received was very poor. My bridesmaids found a couple of cute dress but I refused to give this store any business. The workers at this store need to learn some real customer service. If you are a plus size bride this isn’t the store for you. Go to David’s Bridal and save yourself some time.

FREW'S Bridal did an amazing job with helping me find the perfect wedding dress! I am 6 foot 3 and feared that I would not find a dress long enough that I liked, and that adding fabric on to it would look terrible. They did amazing with adding my bussel and the alterations I needed for the top part of my dress. My dress was gorgeous!

I visited many local bridal shops and conducted extensive research online before I ended up purchasing my dress from BestBridalPrices.com, or Frew's Bridal. I knew which dress I wanted and which size, and I didn't like how local shops kept telling me I needed a size 12, when the size 8 fit perfectly. Extensive alterations is where the shops make their money, and I didn't want to pay for something I didn't need. I ended up ordering an Allure Couture size 8 dress for the lowest price I'd seen anywhere. There was a promotion at the time, so I also got a veil, shoes, and hair combs - for free! The dress I wanted was in stock, so I received it, to my doorstep, in two weeks. It fit perfectly and required NO alterations! I could not have been happier with my decision to order from BestBridalPrices. I also had my bridesmaids order all their dresses from them, and they received a great discount as well. Fantastic shop!

Great staff to work with! Thank you Cheryl, who was extremely helpful! My dress was beautiful and so me!! I got so many compliments and yet, it was so reasonable. Not to mention the in-store credit I received, so I could by my veil, flower for my hair and alterations!

My dress is so unique that my husband is building me a shadow box to hang my dress in the stairway of our new home.
