At long last, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged. While they may feel like they could marry each other with paper rings, the NFL star popped the question with a dazzling diamond that, simply put, you're about to see everywhere. Considering the A-listers faced proposal speculation ever since they started dating back in July 2023, fans spent two years debating what Taylor Swift's engagement ring would look like.

Now, we finally know. Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on August 26 with a joint Instagram post that racked up over 30 million likes within the first day of being shared. In the slideshow (which was set to her song "So High School," of course), Kelce could be seen on one knee amid a lush display of florals and greenery. Swift showed off her brand new engagement ring in the photo dump, and we predict it's going to inspire a new wave of jewelry trends. Here's everything we know about Taylor Swift's engagement ring, including a selection of similar styles you can buy right now.

Taylor Swift's Engagement Ring Details

Taylor Swift's engagement ring is an Old Mine brilliant-cut diamond on a gold band, as confirmed by her publicist Tree Paine. Reports from The New York Times and The Associated Press indicate that Kelce worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine to design the sparkler. Daniela Tarantino, VP of Merchandising of James Allen and Blue Nile, predicts it's a one-of-a-kind bespoke design. "Taylor Swift's gorgeous ring is likely a unique cut just for her," she says, adding that the price tag is nothing short of staggering. "We estimate it's somewhere between 10 to 15 carats total, set on a yellow gold band, likely costing between $750,000 to $1,000,000."

Beyond the eye-popping specs of the diamond, the ring's vintage flair is a subtle nod to her upcoming album and corresponding era, The Life of a Showgirl (which will drop on October 3). "Her engagement ring is definitely maximalist and less traditional and feels like more of an intentional statement piece," says Kat Kim, founder of KATKIM. "The elongated cut diamond is boldly set in yellow gold and is far from the dainty trends we've been seeing. It hints at Old Hollywood glamour with a modern scale."

Hannah Florman, a Boston-based fine jeweler, says the romantic shape is an on-brand selection for the songstress. "Taylor has always embodied a timeless romanticism, weaving art, literature and history into her persona and storytelling," she says. "A cushion-shaped diamond, with its soft, rounded edges and vintage charm, mirrors that sensibility perfectly. Its antique roots connect to eras she often references, while its enduring elegance keeps it from feeling bound to a single moment in time."

As is common for most celebrity engagement rings, it's likely that Swift's Old Mine engagement ring will inspire a new wave of trends in the coming year. "What's interesting is how the ring redefines the current conversation around engagement rings," Kim adds. "It's not just about tradition or timelessness but about identity and individuality. It's undeniably Taylor Swift." Florman shares a similar sentiment, adding, "In an era where many couples are looking for rings that feel personal and enduring, her ring—and her persona—underscore the value of uniqueness over uniformity. I anticipate we'll see not just a rise in cushion-shaped diamonds, but a growing desire for pieces with historical references and rings that connect wearers to a sense of heritage, artistry and meaning beyond the stone itself."
