Mandarin Oriental, Boston offers Wedding Couples an opulently designed "Jewel Box" Oriental Ballroom, flooded with natural light from floor to ceiling windows and displaying stunning chandeliers, elegant fixtures and sweeping views of the city skyline. The Gallery provides an intimate Ceremony or Cocktail Reception space while the Oriental Ballroom is perfect for dinner reception and dancing.
For an outdoor setting, our private Garden Terrace offers an ethereal, lush landscape for a ceremony or tented reception under the stars and city lights. Our Garden Terrace and Ballroom are often used in conjunction for multi-space ceremony and receptions.
Our four additional Event Spaces are distinctively designed with modern New England features and elegant Chinoiserie detail, all featuring floor to ceiling windows overlooking Back Bay. before deciding on the Mandarin, a decision largely driven by the Mandarin’s ballroom and garden. The ballroom is nothing short of stunning, the room and the styling are very well done, certainly a top tier ballroom in the city. However, the Mandarin differentiates itself from others by offering an outdoor space -- where we held our cocktail hour (ceremonies can also be performed in the space, but our ceremony was offsite). Having a green space for our guests to enjoy was high on our list and the ability to have an outdoor cocktail hour in the heart of the city is unmatched by anyone. Our guests were wowed. The staff also executed the transition from the outdoor space to the ballroom impeccably. Another key advantage to the Mandarin (compared to other venues): the wedding space is exclusively yours that day – i.e. there is only one wedding per day. You and your guests do not need to share the special day with others; also ensuring that the Mandarin staff is focused on your event.
Matching the quality of the space is the Mandarin’s exceptional service – from the dining staff to the wedding coordinator, the service and professionalism was top notch. Many of our guests complimented on the level and quality of service. The service was outstanding on the day of, as well as the leading up to wedding day. During planning, the Mandarin’s wedding coordinator was responsive, accommodating, and knowledgeable --- she also provided unique insight regarding logistics and design decisions. The wedding coordinator was outstanding on the day of the wedding--- every component of the cocktail hour/reception was handled flawlessly, thanks to her attention to detail and consideration. From small details (such as making sure bride/groom’s drinks are always full) to larger changes (last minute adjustments to the reception timeline) – the wedding coordinator was great. My husband and I truly did not have to worry about any logistics during the cocktail hour/reception.
Food, cake, drink.... all 5 stars. The food is probably some of the best wedding food you will ever have. It's truly restaurant quality, and delivered with the exceptional service described above.
And did I mention the hotel?! Top 3 hotel accommodations in Boston, easily – it speaks for itself. An added bonus: the Mandarin is attached to the Prudential Center so guests have plenty to do and can also stay at the other nearby hotels (attached via the Prudential Center). ) thru the entire planning process and event. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were ever present and no detail was too small and no request too insignificant for her full attention. And the way she said "of course" to any of my probably sometimes ridiculous utterances, well, it was music to a mother of the bride's ears.
I worked with experienced talented vendors. Each and everyone of them commented to me about Emily's professionalism and calmness. I could not have agreed more.
I would be terribly remiss not to include Bree Warren, assistant banquet manager, who graciously worked with Emily to assure a flawless event.
My only regret- my work with Emily is over. I guess it's time to start planning the next party!
As you may remember, shortly after we signed our contract with the mandarin , your event planner left. My daughter was so worried and I anxious . You assured me that whomever you hired would be able to step in and make the transition a seamless one. Well, not only were you right- you are to be applauded for a brilliant hire.

We got married at the Mandarin in Boston in the fall of 2015 and everything was perfect from the minute we first set foot in the venue to take a tour to day we departed to go home ...
after we were married. We looked at every large hotel and venue in Boston to host our wedding and no one could match the Mandarin in terms of service, location and value. To be able to have an outdoor ceremony space in the middle of the city felt almost too good to be true. I also liked that there was only one ball room, so we would be the only event for the day.
The coordinator was flawless, no detail was overlooked and everything was taken care of before I even thought to ask about it. Every single staff person from the valet attendant, front desk, and the banquet chef, was fantastic and so helpful. I also appreciated how responsive everyone was during the planning. Every silly question I asked had an answer and was taken seriously and everyone was very accommodating. I should also note that so many of our vendors (DJ, florist, musicians) all noted how easy it is to work with the Mandarin and how professional everything is run.
I cannot recommend this venue enough. We had such an amazing and memorable event and our friends and family were so well cared for.

The wedding night itself was perfect. I did not have to worry about a thing as I knew Jessica, the true professional, would handle every detail large or small.
