The Morris House

This is a really beautiful venue attached to the M Restaurant which provides a delicious menu for your event! We worked with their on-site coordinator, Carly, who was extremely helpful and wonderful throughout the process and made sure we had what we needed the day of our wedding. We completely enjoyed the event without having to worry about anything! Our one issue was the sound system--the venue does not allow DJs which was completely fine with us as we wanted a quieter event, but they're still working out their method of hooking up an Iphone or other device to play a few songs for the first dances and ensure there's a microphone for the ceremony and speeches. We ended up having to purchase our own speaker system since we couldn't quite figure out another option and it would have been more expensive to rent one. We also did an after party at the M Restaurant where we were told we could play music through the sound system in the space, but after hooking up our Iphone we realized you couldn't actually hear the music playing and last minute we had to move the speaker system inside which was a bit of a pain. Overall we were so happy with the event and the space and had a wonderful experience!

We wanted to have a wedding that felt close and intimate and the Morris House Hotel did just that. With the ability for all wedding party members to stay at the hotel before and after our big day it was easy to make sure evveryone was there when they needed to be. The courtyard served as a beautiful setting to share our most precious moment with our closest friends and family in a picture perfect setting.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the M Restaurant at the Morris House Hotel. It was absolutely perfect. The setting is stunning - a garden party right out of a pinterest board! And the food was delicious. It was an amazing way to kick off our wedding weekend with an intimate dinner party with our closest family and friends. I highly recommend!

If you want an intimate venue that is easy to work with, organized, has amazing food, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful, I would highly recommend the Morris House Hotel! I had a small, intimate wedding at the Morris House Hotel on 5/13/17 and had a tremendous experience. Finding a small venue in the Philadelphia area was very difficult, but the Morris House Hotel was very accommodating and never made us seem strange for wanting a small wedding (67 guests). This really is the perfect place if you want a small, intimate gathering. The site itself has 15 rooms which we rented all of them out so our families had the full place to ourselves for the weekend, which was really nice. The hotel was VERY accommodating to children and infants and had large suites to provide comfortable arrangements for families. The ceremony and reception were held in their courtyard garden under their clear tent, which was absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. If you want a venue that has an excellent rain plan, this is the place for you. We experienced heavy rain storms and low temperatures in May and yet the ceremony and reception in the courtyard was dry, warm, and so beautiful- not many places can offer that. The staff worked so hard the day of the wedding taking care of large puddles, bringing in heaters, moving cocktail hour inside, and even coming to find me in the bridal suite to update me as to the rain plan as the day went on. For what could have been a really upsetting day wound up being just as beautiful, and you really can’t ask for more than that. We were also looking for a venue that would provide a "family like dinner" experience with GOOD food, and the M restaurant that is associated with the Morris House Hotel did just that. Our tasting earlier this year was really fun and everything we ate and drank was better than the next. It honestly was hard to for us to pick our menu with all of the amazing options they provided. At the reception, the food was just as good as when we did our tasting and our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. Finally, I can't say enough about the staff who worked with us throughout the wedding planning process. Our coordinator Jeanette was outstanding, very organized, detail oriented, responsive, and took the time to answer all of my questions, no matter how many I had that day. The hotel manager Lenka was wonderful to work with and made it easy for our guests to call in to book their rooms. The front desk employees at the hotel were so accommodating to myself and our guests, helped arrange taxis, always offered to help with luggage, provided ideas on things to do in the city, and were always there to lend a hand. We also had a few “captains” Linna and Carly that made our tasting experience a blast, worked tirelessly throughout our wedding weekend to decorate, set up, tear down, organize guests, keep us on schedule, and went above and beyond what we could have asked for. Every time I thought of something I needed or was thinking throughout the whole wedding weekend they were already one step ahead of me. The bartenders, chef, and additional waitstaff were outstanding as well. Our guests had delicious, high quality, seasonal food and drinks all weekend. I am sure I have forgotten a few a long the way, but the take away point here is everyone I worked with was extremely hard working, willing to go the extra mile for us, and helped us tremendously, even in the downpours!

I had a small wedding just parents and siblings. The Library in the Morris House Hotel was the perfect setting for a sit down dinner for 17. The staff was terrific and food amazing. They even created a special menu for the kids!!
