Inside Ali Fedotowsky and Kevin Manno's Wedding Day
Ali Fedotowsky and Kevin Manno got married on March 3, 2017, at an oceanfront ceremony in California. It was the couple's third attempt at making their union official. The pair originally planned to marry in Mexico, but they were forced to postpone due to complications from the Zika virus.
They pushed back the date once again the following year because of an expected (but welcome!) surprise. "We also planned a wedding in California for January 2016, and we ended up pushing that back too because we found out I was pregnant," Fedotowsky told The Knot at the time. "Could we have kept the date? Sure. But I like to celebrate, and celebrate with champagne!"
Kevin Manno and Ali Fedotowsky's wedding finally took place in front of 100 guests at the Terranea Resort, a luxury 5-star resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Rancho Palos Verdes. For the ceremony, the bride wore a strapless lace Alvina Valenta gown, and was escorted down the aisle by her father. She later changed into a custom Val Stefani ball gown. Manno donned a classic tuxedo and bow tie.
The couple's beloved dog, Owen, played a special part in the seaside wedding, and their seven-month-old daughter, Molly, served as flower girl. TheGolden Coast All Stars band performed a rendition of "Ho Hey" by the Lumineers, which is the duo's favorite song.
Noteworthy guests included Kaley Cuoco, Haylie Duff, and season 10 Bachelorette Andi Dorfman.
Ali Fedotowsky revealed in an Extra interview that she dealt with a slight mishap on her wedding day—but it was for the best reason. "I forgot to wear my veil!" she recalled. "Someone took it out of the garment bag… I never thought to go back and take the veil, I was obviously having too much fun."
Fedotowsky previously told The Knot that she wanted her day to be eventful—a desire that did come to fruition. "I want to be able to let loose and completely enjoy myself at my wedding," she said in an exclusive interview ahead of the big day in 2016. "I didn't know how pregnancy would affect me so I didn't want to risk feeling crappy on my wedding day. It's a good thing we didn't get married then because I was so sick at the beginning of my pregnancy. It would have been a rough night for me." Indeed, it worked out. "The whole wedding day was so perfect and lovely," she later told Extra.
Ali Fedotowsky's Wedding Dress Details
After Ali Fedotowsky's wedding, her dress designers Valerie and Stephanie Chin of Val Stefani gave The Knot an exclusive look inside the design process for the bride's ball gown.
"Ali was specific that she wanted [her dress] to reflect her own personal style, and [she wanted to] have fun in it," the sister duo told us. "She wanted something classic and elegant that really reflected her sense of style."
The influencer was drawn to the Simply Val Stefani collection, which consisted of mix-and-match separates. "She wanted to have a classic glamour element, which is something we love to incorporate in our designs," the designers explained to The Knot. "She also wanted to have fun and be able to dance. We made note of [her wishes] when helping to design the perfect wedding gown for her."
Fedotowsky opted to combine a soft silhouette with a more fitted bodice. "We created a simple, satin bodice with spaghetti straps and a low, dipped back with a peekaboo cutout to pair with the skirt she loved so much," they shared. "The mixing of fabrics added a chic depth to this gown, while the hint of skin kept it fun and flirty. When she saw the bodice and skirt paired together, she was like, 'Yes, this is it!'"
Throughout the design process, Valerie and Stephanie were careful to consider the location and time of year. "Spring brides sometimes have to be more conscious of the weather," they told us. "It can quickly turn from warm during the day to cold at night. The combination of fabrics on her gown are the perfect fit, because they transition nicely from warmer to cooler temperatures. We used lightweight tulle for the skirt and created a flowy silhouette, so she could have movement."
From start to finish, Ali Fedotowsky's wedding dress design process took about a month. "Similar to any bride [who] is searching for her bridal gown, when you know you know!" the designers concluded to The Knot. "It didn't take long for us to complete her gown, and she looked beautiful."
