Emmy Rossum and Sam Esmail Quietly Welcomed a Baby

Emmy Rossum and her husband, Sam Esmail, are first-time parents. The Phantom of the Opera actress unveiled her new parental status on May 25, alongside photos of herself from a maternity shoot and images of her newborn's footprint.

"5.24.21," Rossum revealed. "On a sunny Monday morning, at 8:13 am, we welcomed our daughter into the world." The Shameless star also shared a follow-up photo of her growing baby bump from her final few weeks of pregnancy. "Two weeks before our daughter was born," she wrote. The couple concealed Rossum's pregnancy throughout the expectancy, delighting many fans with the news.

Emmy Rossum's Wedding Details

It was exactly four years ago during Memorial Day Weekend 2017 when Rossum and her husband married in a classic New York City wedding. The couple exchanged vows at Central Synagogue in Midtown Manhattan in a ceremony witnessed by celebrity guests like Hilary Swank, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek and Christian Slater.

The reception was held at an iconic New York City institution: the storied Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum right by Central Park. There, the couple posed for wedding snapshots in the museum's rather photogenic atrium. Rossum's New York wedding was topped by a fitting dress designer: Carolina Herrera. The star wore a custom, delicate, off-the-shoulder number topped by a dramatic lace veil.

During the wedding planning process, however, it was Rossum's unique choice of bachelorette party destination that garnered the admiration of to-be-weds everywhere at the time. The bride ended up choosing a low-key getaway to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which is a special destination for the Shameless star. While there, the group ended up on snow-capped peaks and visiting the famed bar in town.
