The Knot Editors have seen a plethora of weddings throughout the years, none more emphasized across America than the highly-anticipated nuptials of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The American Royal wedding is expected to take place on July 3, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Based on what we've heard, seen, and predict (some of which is rooted in data and other aspects are pure speculation), here's what we'll see from the wedding of the decade. With certainty, however, we can confidently say that Taylor Swift's wedding will spark trends and inspiration for years to come.

Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift's Wedding Planning Details

One conviction we share is that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will have a deconstructed wedding, a term we solidified and first reported on back in 2024. In this famous couple's case, we feel there will be multiple marital moments and celebrations to mark their newlywed status. Deconstructed weddings have increasingly caught on with celebrity couples (think Dua Lipa and Callum Turner). With hyper-personalization in the mix, couples are thinking about how to create moments that wow their guests, with wedding events and timelines to reflect their deeply thoughtful and personal tastes. We can see Taylor and Travis privately exchanging vows, sharing a courthouse moment, and then hosting a formal ceremony with loved ones. We also see this couple throwing a big celebration, if not several, to mark their new beginnings.

  • A mastermind, a poet herself, and a lyricist. Fans of her music are aware: Taylor Swift loves a tale; hence why she refers to herself as "your English teacher" and a poet. Naturally, her entire wedding will be centered on a story with a developing narrative and lore to match.
  • Exactly what that precise story will be? The editors predict the hopeless romantic concept will be embedded throughout her wedding day. (Perhaps "Love Story" could show up with aspects of an Old Money-meets-Elizabeth Taylor spin.) While she won't overtly point to her music, Swift's deeply romantic sensibilities will be showcased throughout the wedding day.
  • Swift will certainly leave it to the pros, and have the very best wedding planning team. She will turn to a reputable list of experts, many of whom have planned large-scale events for quite some time. However, there is a possibility that she and Kelce won't exactly hire the typical "celebrity wedding planner." After all, the couple went with a lesser-known engagement ring designer and jeweler, Kindred Lubeck, last summer. The two have likely selected pros with solid reputations for execution and discretion. This is their style, after all.

The Wedding Design

Swift has been through a series of eras, yet we feel her wedding aesthetic will take a more whimsical direction with touches of gold. The theme? We predict a whimsical and regal aesthetic–a development and departure from 1989, but still evoking a dreamlike state. Swift has long been fascinated by the Gilded Age, which is where gold arrives, but to her, love is powdery and pretty, and we can see that influencing the wedding color palette with cooler and softer tones. Her wedding will skew more timeless than trendy. There will be a floral moment, similar to the engagement. This is one bride who won't skimp on blooms and stems, to inspire couples to create a dreamscape for their weddings too.

  • For the wedding color palette, The Knot Editors envision a soft lilac, powdery blues with flashes of metallic and iridescence.
  • The couple's wedding florals will carry its own statement. In fact, we predict their use of florals and decor will be an amplified version of Travis Kelce's backyard proposal arch (one that The Knot recreated with its own Enchanted Garden in Madison Square Park immediately after Swift revealed the proposal moment on social media). We envision her team will create installations of purple hydrangea, rare and iridescent lilac anthurium, peony and garden roses in pinks and ivories, cascading wisteria, and more.
  • The creative direction for this wedding will be tight, given Swift's access to top wedding designers who can bridge the gap between her wildest dreams to the realistic experience of a full-service wedding.

Taylor & Travis' Wedding Day Attire, Beauty & More

We saw the power of the Swift Effect, first-hand, once her engagement photos were revealed. The songstress was photographed in this milestone moment in a simple dress by Ralph Lauren, which immediately sold out everywhere. Demand for antique diamonds and Old-Mine cuts increased across jewelers.

  • Naturally, one of the biggest questions surrounding the big day is what Taylor Swift will wear down the aisle. We predict the superstar is planning to switch up her look multiple times throughout the festivities (see our designer predictions here). Our top designer choice for Swift: Ralph Lauren—the brand behind her proposal dress and, most recently, the velvet number she stepped out in New York for date night with Kelce to "Oh Mary!" Broadway Musical.
  • Recent reports speculate she is expected to wear custom designs by Monse founders Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, who serve as the co-creative directors of Oscar de la Renta. Swift has a long, celebrated history with the iconic fashion house. She has turned to Oscar de la Renta for some of her most monumental career moments, including custom Midnights bodysuits for The Eras Tour and the memorable, blue gown she wore to the premiere of The Eras Tour concert film.
  • Outside of Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren, other contenders include Sarah Burton for Givenchy, whose recent red carpet designs have subtly teased a shift toward a more bridal aesthetic and a signature corseted, silk crepe gown from Vivienne Westwood. Another major contender is Nicole + Felicia. The prominent bridal designers have already proven they can deliver on Swift's grand, romantic aesthetic, having previously created three show-stopping, custom tulle ballgowns for The Eras Tour. Given their history, they are a natural choice to dress Taylor for her walk down the aisle.
  • The ceremony dress will certainly be extra special (see our designer predictions here). While folks believe it will be a princess ballgown, The Knot Editors envision simplicity and sophistication will shine through. Why? We've seen her step out in luxe and elevated looks recently. More bridal-esque silk skirts, a departure from her prior decade of style. The big bridal reveal will also come with a sentimental string quartet pairing as she makes her way down the aisle.
  • Swift has been known to tell a story through her glam, so everything she chooses for the wedding day will be supremely intentional and likely classic. For her hairstyle and color, Swift will choose a more toned-down and glossy hair color, in line with her most recent appearances. She will likely avoid the platinum blonde hues we've seen in the past, opting for something more natural and herself. For the ceremony, Swift is favored to walk down the aisle in a low bun with bangs and no red lip but more of a pouty and pretty pink to highlight her natural features. There will, however, be a beauty and glam swap for the reception, and even the afterparty. That's when the red lip will come out.
  • What will Travis Kelce wear? The NFL player is no stranger to colorful looks and having his own sense of style. The editors predict Kelce will also arrive to his wedding events prepared with multiple outfit changes–some looks more modern to accompany the bride, others more whimsical and playful to speak to his personality. Top designer options include Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Louis Vuitton with a bejeweled brooch. For the rehearsal dinner, we see the groom in a burgundy or merlot suit.

The Ceremony & Reception Details

Swift is big on energy and how people feel. We know she'll want the same effect for her guests (most couples, 90% in fact, prioritize the guest experience). For Taylor, she has likely worked with her wedding planning team in great specificity for how her guests will receive her entire wedding experience. It will be a major treat at every turn.

  • Personalization will be embedded throughout the big and tiny details of the ceremony and the reception. The bride's beloved cats, Benjamin, Meredith and Olivia will be included as Easter eggs throughout the wedding, whether that be custom illustrations, on programs and menus, with light nods to her furry family. Additionally, the couple's custom cocktails could include a nod to "English Teacher; Gym Teacher," as cited in her Instagram post for the proposal. The editors envision a Taylor & Travis custom wedding crest (T&T, or a simple T) too.
  • Handwritten letters will be a thing. Swift and Kelce love their community. We feel every guest will receive something special that nods to Swift's beloved hobby of baking sourdough. Additionally, every guest will receive a full love letter for what they mean to the couple, sealed with wax.
  • Music and entertainment will be top-notch, and the entire room will be buzzing; it will be endlessly fun and incredibly thoughtful. The couple will hire across multiple categories of music: a solo guitarist or violinist, a jazz band, a string quartet or orchestra, along with a live band, and a DJ. This is one area where they won't skimp as the highest-paid female artist in the world has something to say about it. It's her wedding, after all.
  • The couple has planned plenty of activities for guests; some Swifties, who know the significance of bracelets in Swift's career, even speculate that permanent bracelets (or a bracelet/bauble bar) of 18K gold options and diamonds could be an experiential gift for guests. At the afterparty, it wouldn't surprise us if Swift, herself, took to the piano or if the Kelce brothers had a surprise performance at the ready. We know, though, that Taylor and Travis can party and that is one reception and afterparty that will be full of fun. This party will be energizing.
  • Swift and Kelce will opt for a charity registry or a large donation on behalf of each guest. For this generous duo, they will give rather than receive.

The Monetary Lift AKA the Swift Effect

In September 2025, weeks after the revelation of Swift's engagement to Kelce, The Knot predicted through forecasting methodology that the couple's wedding would spark financial increases to the wedding business. The exact amount? To the tune, at minimum, of what could be a $2 billion lift to the wedding business. For context, though: the opportunities are abundant. Last year alone, 2 million couples got married across the US, generating $100 billion in weddings.
