Jennifer Lawrence Is Expecting Her First Child
Jennifer Lawrence is going to be a mom. The Oscar winner and star of the smash Hunger Games franchise is expecting her first child with husband Cooke Maroney.
Lawrence's rep confirmed the pregnancy news to People on September 8, just shy of the couple's two-year wedding anniversary.
The star of Silver Linings Playbook and Maroney have been relatively low-key since their October 2019 wedding in Rhode Island. The couple memorably exchanged vows at the Belcourt of Newport, a historic, oceanfront estate that is currently owned by the CEO of Alex & Ani. Guests included Kris Jenner and Lawrence's close pals Amy Schumer, Emma Stone and Adele.
Though the lavish affair was held in New England, Lawrence's Kentucky roots were on full display for the festivities. The wedding menu was Southern-style with dishes like salt cod, beignets and Kentucky-style barbecue. One of the signature cocktails was an Old Fashioned, which is a Kentucky state staple.
Lawrence and Maroney got engaged in February 2019 after less than a year of dating. While wedding planning, the star created a wedding registry that included everything from kitchen tools to cashmere. One of her favorite picks was the Joy of Cooking, one of the most highly recommended cookbooks worldwide. "I love trying new recipes, so it's important to have the right tools in the kitchen," she said at the time. "Here are a few items I love, and a few that I can't wait to start using. Cooking for two is always more fun!"
Other items on her registry included a dutch oven from Le Creuset (another staple), Marcato's Atlas pasta machine and items for a night in. (They included a swanky Marshall speaker, as well as a Roomba.) "With my schedule, sometimes there is nothing better than a quiet night at home," she added.
