Although she has a private account, screenshots from Ellie Connell's Instagram circulated the internet in April 2024, seemingly confirming her engagement to Matthew Tkachuk. In the photos, Tkachuk can be seen proposing on one knee while on a boat in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

After a tense Stanley Cup Finals playoff series, in which Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers came from behind and forced a seventh game, Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers emerged victorious. July 2025: Matthew Tkachuk Marries Ellie Connell
Weeks after winning the 2025 Stanley Cup final, Matthew Tkachuk secured another ring—his wedding ring, that is. Photos and videos from guests confirmed that Tkachuk and Connell got married on July 19, 2025. One video in particular took the internet by storm: a clip of his dad, former NHL star Keith Tkachuk, being lifted into the air while Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club" played in the background.
Tkachuk also took to his Instagram Story to give his band a special shoutout: "Wow, Georgia Bridgwater, what an amazing night," he said alongside his wife. "Thank you so much for giving Ellie and I the best night of our lives. We loved it, what an amazing performance, it made it the best night ever."
The day after their wedding, Tkachuk and Connell had their turn with the Stanley Cup (a tradition in the NHL). The newlyweds paraded it through his hometown of St. Louis, making stops at the local police and fire departments, as well as the St. Louis Children's Hospital.
