Give her breakfast, lunch and dinner at Tiffany’s. Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra didn’t exactly have an engagement ring style in mind before Nick Jonas selected one this summer, but she was certain that the piece had to come from one specific brand: Tiffany & Co.

“Well, I may have dropped that hint,” Chopra told People this week. “I think we had a conversation about it when we were dating and I’ve always known it had to be Tiffany.”

In fact, Chopra’s love affair with the brand has been decades old. “I just knew it since I was a kid,” she expressed. “First, it was Breakfast at Tiffany’s that did it for every girl in the world and then, of course, Sweet Home Alabama came and put a stamp on it that it has to be Tiffany!”

Jonas proposed in July with a custom, cushion-cut engagement ring featuring baguette diamonds on each side. After slyly slipping the ring into her pocket in public and other such instances of avoiding the topic, the pair finally debuted the piece during their traditional Roka ceremony in Mumbai, India, in August.

His proposal, however, was unlike Patrick Dempsey’s Sweet Home Alabama moment when he asked Reese Witherspoon’s character to “pick one” inside the flagship Fifth Avenue store.

“No, I wasn’t there,” Chopra confirmed this week. “He and his brothers went and did a whole thing to buy the ring for his future wife.”
