Ryan Murphy is married to Bridget Konttinen. Like her husband, the 29-year-old is also an accomplished athlete. A native of Tiburon, California, Konttinen rowed competitively in high school and won the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championship in 2013, per the Marin Independent Journal. She went on to row in college at the University of California, Berkeley. According to her athletic roster profile, she obtained a degree in business and interned at Nike's world headquarters in Oregon. After graduating in 2017, Konttinen went on to work with Nike full-time. In December of that year, she announced that she joined the corporation on their Global Brand Creative Innovation team.

It's quite fitting for an Olympian to get married in California's Olympic Valley. Bridget Konttinen and Ryan Murphy's wedding took place on September 30, 2023, at Everline Resort & Spa. The venue was a thoughtful choice for the bride, as it paid homage to her Finnish heritage. "Bridget grew up skiing in that area and her dad is from Finland, so skiing was a big part of their life at a young age. There's a lot of sentimental value for her," Murphy told People. "I think it's honestly the most beautiful place I've been in the world, so it was a dream to get married there."
Emily Srok of Red Carpet Events & Design helped plan the couple's "chic, rustic and vintage" event, which featured an espresso martini tower and custom Cal bear shot skis, a nod to their alma mater. "It's an old world meets California modern," Konttinen told the outlet of her vision. "It's very neutral colors. Not really a splash of color anywhere. We used whites and a ton of greenery, and gold and wooden accents. Then a couple just fun unique touches, like gold disco balls over the dance floor."
The bride wore an elegant long-sleeved lace wedding dress with a plunging V-neckline by Varca Bridal, while the groom opted for a custom white jacquard tuxedo from Baynes + Baker. The couple was joined by 180 loved ones, including Olympians Chase Kalisz, Nathan Adrian and Lenny Krayzelburg, who served as groomsmen. After the newlyweds shared their first dance to Justin Bieber's "Anyone," guests enjoyed crab cakes, filet, salmon, and mushroom ravioli for dinner. The couple sliced into a lemon meringue and red velvet cake at the end of the night, which was decorated with pressed flowers by their florist.
