Mother's Day was extra meaningful for actress Samira Wiley and her wife, Lauren Morelli, and it's because they're first-time moms to a newborn baby girl.
"Happy 1st Mother's Day to my beautiful wife," wrote Wiley. "Four weeks ago today after laboring for almost 3 days [she] gave birth to our first child -- our gorgeous daughter, George." The Handmaid's Tale actress accompanied the thoughtful post with a photo of their little family of three holding hands. "Welcome to the world, babygirl," Wiley added. "We love you and we thank you for giving us the best 1st Mother's Day two ladies could ask for."
The baby was born on April 11, but the couple managed to keep Morelli's entire pregnancy a secret until they debuted the news. Morelli, a former writer for Orange Is the New Black, added on her end: "[Four] weeks ago today, our daughter came into the world and changed everything. We are so happy, so grateful, and so tired. George Elizabeth, 4.11.21."

Confetti was abundant at the couple's Palm Springs wedding in March 2017. "We had a Funfetti-theme wedding," Wiley previously told The Knot in an exclusive interview. "My favorite detail from that wedding turned into confetti everywhere. We had a confetti cannon. It's literally exactly what it sounds like. It shoots thousands of pieces of confetti right after the beat drops. It's amazing."
Personalized elements were sprinkled throughout the wedding. Both wore custom pieces by designer Christian Siriano. (A ballgown for Wiley against a crepe, caped creation for Morelli.) "We wrote our own vows," Wiley recalled. "But one of the most unique things about our wedding was that we didn't process down a traditional aisle. We processed in together holding hands."

The couple's venue of choice was Colony 29, which offers a circular ceremony structure, unlike traditional layouts. The location is nestled in the foothills of the Indian Canyons and the San Jacinto Mountains among numerous unique wedding venues. "Our ceremony was in the round— in a spiral—so when we walked the aisle, we were able to walk past every single guest," Wiley said. "And I don't even think we knew at the time that it was going to be that wonderful."
In retrospect, there was one additional and important essential from the day that Wiley was so happy to have enjoyed. "I had a BLT before I walked the aisle," Wiley recalled. "And that was great."
According to reports, the pair walked down their spiral aisle without bouquets. With their free hands, they high-fived and greeted guests to the tune of "I Choose You" by Sara Bareilles, casually performed by OITNB actress Danielle Brooks.

Samira and Lauren's Honeymoon Details
Following the nuptials, the couple set off for nearby Disneyland, where they enjoyed some time exploring the park. "I love Disney so much and they love me now. Hopefully!" she says. "The larger part of our honeymoon was going to Italy."
They later flew off to Italy, where they shared multiple photos of themselves indulging in the extended latermoon.
The couple has now been married for over four years.
