The Jean Dousset ring try-on experience is super easy and is like having your very own personal jeweler. Choose the ring you want to try, and click the "Try it On" button at the top left of the screen. You can upload a photo of your hand or see the ring on two different models' hands. If you choose to upload a photo and you're on your laptop, you'll need to use your phone to scan the QR code shown on the screen. The QR code then gives you the ability to take a photo of your hand, which must be lined up with the hand illustration. That image is then automatically sent to the try-on screen on your laptop or refreshed on your phone with the virtual ring on your hand. From there, you can move the ring to one of your three fingers and put it in one of the three different positions on each finger. Our favorite part was that we could click the "Single" or "Stack" toggle to try on wedding bands or compare engagement rings side-by-side.

Concerning the Blue Nile hand models: The company does use four different hand models for the virtual try-on, but there needs to be improvement in the diversity in skin tones so there's more representation for to-be-weds. They also offer men's engagement rings, but the rings are shown on the same four hand models, so you can't see how the jewelry looks on someone with larger hands.
