Owner Scott Roberts's great-grandmother, Bettie Howard, moved to Driftwood from Mississippi in 1867. She and her husband, James, took a boat from Biloxi to Indianola and then continued by wagon to Driftwood. Along the way, Bettie seared and then slow-cooked their meat over coals. It's the same method that Scott and his team use today. The Howard and Roberts families have served countless satisfied customers over the years.
