We continued on to the other booths at the show and were glad to hear the other vendors speak highly of them. A few days later Cindy contacted us and we discussed possible menu items and the budget. She stated she would send us a quote for the buffet and we set up a time to come in for a tasting. This unfortunately was when the bad started. We never received a quote from them. A week had passed and we were scheduled to head in for the tasting. We assumed it was just something they forgot. We headed to their restaurant which is actually an old Chinese restaurant. The location was in a sketchy shopping strip. But we weren't having our wedding there so we were willing to dismiss it as just a cheaper rent situation to reduce cost. We arrived about ten minutes ahead of the scheduled time and knocked on the metal door. There was no response. So we waited until the exact time. Still no answer. We noticed a side door and decided to give that a try. Finally the cook heard us knocking and opened the door. He asked us if we heard from Cindy as she was running late. We did not get a call before the meeting. We were willing to dismiss this as we assumed they were busy with stuff. The cook asked us to go back to the front door as the kitchen was still a little messy from the morning. We get into to the restaurant and it looked pretty messy. Again, we assumed this was due to them being in the process of remodeling and dismissed this as a small issue. About five minutes after sitting down at a table they set up for us Cindy arrives and apologized for being late. It wasn't too long so we thought it was not a big deal. The tasting began and the food was very good. After the tasting we discussed adding and removing items on the menu. Cindy wrote it all down and it seemed we were good to go and she would get us a new quote with the new items. We mentioned that we never received the first quote and she seemed surprised. We again brushed it off as not a big deal as we were still excited to work with them as the food was really good. We happily paid the $55 tasting fee and even tipped a little extra as the cook and Cindy were great at this meeting. Unfortunately this is when it all went downhill. We waited a few days and recurved the new quote. The price was nearly double our budget that we told them. Not a big deal we thought. There were a few items that we decided to change to try to get the amount down. We wrote an email explaining it was well above our budget and had a list of items to remove and change. Cindy called us the same day and discussed the changes. One and half week later we don't hear anything back and I send a follow-up email asking for an update. It has been a month and half later and we still have not heard from them. Luckily we were able to find another caterer that was willing to work with us through the process and create a great menu to fit our budget. Maybe this was just one bad experience. But there were signs during the process that were indicating it wasn't going work. Looking back now, we should not have dismissed then as just small issues.

r from Cindy, so I sent her an email requesting an update and checking to see if she was still going to send me a proposal/estimate. that was two weeks ago and she never responded. Very poor customer service.

know the bride and groom don’t typically get to eat, but once we had our tasting and I tried Scooter’s BBQ and mac & cheese, I knew I wasn’t going to miss that on my wedding day and we didn’t. Scooter’s not only brought an incredibly friendly team to manage the buffet but they were all so sweet and made up plates for us so that we got to eat during the reception, and even packed up boxes to-go at the end of the night. Cindy and her team were a dream throughout the planning process, always taking my calls no matter how frequent, was willing to work with us to incorporate fresh green chile into the menu for my New Mexico-raised husband, and even randomly checked in just to see how I was doing. We were also able to hire our bartenders through Scooter’s and it made the entire food/drink portion of the wedding something I didn’t even need to stress about. The food was almost outshined by the incredible team…almost. Nothing beats that pulled pork and mac & cheese! If you want your guests to remember your wedding food for how fantastic and tasty it was, Scooter’s Custom Catering is your team!

The tasting was wonderful and they made an amazing meal that fit our budget and needs. We get compliments on our food every time our wedding is brought up. Their staff were amazing at the reception and so helpful, they even stayed late and helped us get our gifts/rentals in the car. I couldn't reccomend this company enough. They are truely incredible.

r (Exec. Chef - son) makes the best food around. He has a very diverse culinary background so you def. wont have the same boring wedding food. I will be using them in the future for other family functions

I did hear some complaints about one of the bartenders, but I don't attribute that to Scooter's team overall service - food was beyond excellent!!! I still want more! ces to my menu with allergies to take care of and family traditions to accommodate, not to mention the physical moving from the appetizer area to the dinner tent. Cindy was there every step of the way for us, changing schedules adding details, taking things away. By the end we must have gone through 20 different proposals, she never seemed annoyed or complained, she just always made an effort to make everything perfect. This attitude continued right on through the wedding day, even when disaster seemed to strike they kept everything together and pulled it off with me barely realizing there was a problem! Scooter has a magical touch with food. Ever since I tried it at the tasting the food was the one thing I was most looking forward to at the wedding - and I sure wasn't disappointing. Knowing brides have to deal with the dress, they even appointed someone to go through the buffet with me and make my plate for me. Truly awesome experience working with them! I'd recommend them to anyone for any kind of event.

offered to fix plates for my husband and me, which was very much appreciated. We used their staff for a lot of the set up and clean up. They thought of a lot of details that I did not think of, and that helped make the event run smoother. We loved the decorative and delicious drink containers and mock-tails. They were familiar with and knew how to deconstruct and serve our wedding cake, something that our baker said is sometimes an issue. We continue to receive compliments on how good the food was!

He also refused to open a bottle of sparkling cider for my maid of honor making the comment "arent you a little young to be drinking" The staff who was preparing the food tried to stop my maid of honor of going into the bridal sweet, when she explained who she was and that she was putting her shoes in there they told her that "you can just keep your shoes on" I dont feel I hired them to be security so that really made me mad. More than 2 people also had to request that they make me and my husband a bride and groom box to take with us as we were getting on a flight in a couple hours. We also found out that they took a ton of food after the wedding with no mention of what would be done with it or the option to sign it over to my family as we had already paid for it.

ly enough of Scooter and staff. The food is flavorful and you get more than you would imagine for the price.
