mely death we had to significantly decrease the number of guests attending our wedding. The hotel was unwilling to work with us and refused to change the number of guests on the room block, even though we gave them 8 months notice. We tried to cover those lost costs in other ways but the hotel refused to negotiate to a price that my fiancé and I could afford. So, we were forced to cancel our reservations a week before the wedding. To make matters worse, when our guests called to cancel their reservations the hotel staff told them that they would be charged a steep cancellation fee and had to stay for at least 2 nights. All of our guests spoke of how rude the staff was at the front desk and how the service at the hotel was below average. The Sheraton Maui ruined my wedding, something I had been dreaming about my whole life. Please spare yourself this pain/headache and choose a hotel that actually cares about its customers and will be willing to work with them.

ould customize my wedding the way I wanted to and even though we had to use the venue for food, it came with tables, chairs, plates, etc, which can be an extra cost to most weddings. I brought in my own DJ, but the florist, photographers, and videographers were recommended through the hotel and were wonderful! I want to do it all over again! :)

). Our ceremony was on Black Rock Lawn, overlooking the famous black rock and was very close to the beach (where we were able to take photos with our wedding party). It was a gorgeous ceremony and reception. We had an indoor reception at the Coral Reef room which looked absolutely stunning with our sparkly gold sequin table cloths and vintage/glam theme. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was because of the staff. I had a few issues contacting staff as this was an overseas wedding for me (from Australia) and I had to wait several days to get responses. There was also a bit of disorganisation on the day where my name was spelled incorrectly on our commemorative wedding certificate. Once we got home from our honeymoon unfortunately had to request an adjusted certificate to be sent around to our witnesses then to us. We also had a bit of an issue with the bartender making extremely strong drinks at the reception, so that we would have to pay more for the alcohol portion of the evening. In saying that, many of our guests (including some in the industry) said it was the best wedding they've ever been too and absolutely everyone of our guests had a great night. I highly recommend the Sheraton, especially if you are local in Hawaii.

breathtaking views and delicious food made for a wonderful experience. Don't miss the nightly cliff diving ceremony right on the beach out front. We can't wait to go back!

to take two beds. Of course this is the choice we made! The staff is friendly, the concierge is super helpful, and we had a nap solutely blast! Everything you need is right here, including shuttle service to and from the airport and shuttle to and from Lahaina.

otel had mostly couples, very few families (none that we saw with little kids), and most of the couples there were in their 40s-60s, and we were much younger than the rest of the crowd. Pool was usually pretty empty, it was a bit chilly at times. Only complaint would be the cost of the rooms in comparison to other resorts, but we knew that advance so we knew the costs, etc. We also would recommend to eat meals off the property, they were way over priced in our opinion.

eived was very professional - from that prior to our arrival from our wedding coordinator Taryn (and Helen) to everyone that helped make our big day come to fruition when we arrived. Sheraton Maui Black Rock was a beautiful location. We had a large wedding party (54) and the majority stayed at the Sheraton. We all had a great time! The Coral Reef room looked amazing that night, the food was beyond expectations!! My guests couldn't believe the quality of food considering it was buffet style - we were so pleased!

The only issue that we had was that the ceremony location was very secluded (which we loved) however the hotel front desk staff and conceriege did not even know where the area was located on the hotel grounds so they were not able to give directions to a few of our guests. Other then that, it was a picture perfect day!

can say is that there was only one jacuzzi and it was small for only having one, drinks on site are $10/each, latest bar open until 10pm, and lastly, we were close to the elevator so could hear all the dings in the morning - had to turn the TV or fan on the drown out the noise - so just don't stay close to the elevator and you'll be fine. Everything else was excellent - Staff was really genuinely nice and helpful. (Oh, and you can't smoke cigarettes on your balcony!) All the "cons" were minor and really did not have a negetive affect on us as I would imagine these are the same around Maui. Deserves 5 Starts anyway. I would love to go back. If you stay here you will not be disappointed.

autiful, with a great pool and beach and the rooms were very nice. The negatives were that they screwed up our billing and some of our guests billing. They quickly fixed it, but it was still a pain to deal with during our wedding. Also, don't buy in that building six isn't that far away, it really is! Building two or three are perfect. The rooms only have king or two full size beds. The full size beds are small if you are used to sleeping in a queen or king. The fridge in room is a nice touch. Everyone was very nice, but definitely slow. We elected to have our Wedding at the Five Palms in Kihei rather than the Sheraton as the Sheraton's food and beverage minimum was crazy (we only had 35 people and 7 were kids). If we go back with our kids, we would definitely stay there again (but in the junior suite).

cation so that was a little bit of a cosmetic flaw, but it was off to the side so you didn't notice it too much. The staff at the resort were very warm and inviting which made things that much better. As much as loved the wedding sales manager/planner as a person, she wasn't vry helpful. I ended up doing the majority of the little details myself. She didn't tell the photographer where to meet us for before pictures until 20 mins before the ceremony and she literally handed us our flowers right before we walked down the aisle, so needless to say there weren't any pictures with me and my bridesmaids with our flowers before the wedding. She didn't help with getting a room to get ready in and my sister in law had to contact the hotel manager directly to get us a room and the planner called several times while we were getting ready trying to get us out of the room when we had already made an agreement with the resort manager. Right before I walk down the aisle the planner felt that it was her cue to let me know that the room was comped, like I really want to think about that before I walked down the aisle?! There were other things, but I've gone on enough. Bottom line is if you are using this resort, you may want to hire your own wedding planner.
