As your maid of honor, your sister is your right hand and biggest fan—who's working her tail off. Between dress shopping, bachelorette party planning, bridesmaid corralling and train bustling, your maid of honor deserves a big pat on the back (or a thoughtful gift and sentimental note). And until you've been a maid of honor yourself, you won't truly know what it's like to walk in her shoes. Here's what it's actually like to be your sister's maid of honor, as told by 27 Dresses.

She gets to help your partner plan a romantic proposal and find you the perfect ring.

She has to listen to relatives remind her how unmarried she is.

She has the honor of staying sober and responsible at the engagement party and bridal shower—someone has to keep track of the gifts.

But when it comes to your bachelorette, she's back to being the life of the party.

Her calendar looks like this:

She gains an awesome sister- or brother-in-law (time for some serious bonding).

She gets to try on tons of bridesmaid dresses and help you choose your favorite.

And then listen to her boyfriend's opinion on the dress of choice.

She has to overcome her fear of public speaking before giving her toast.

And ends up nailing her speech (it's both touching and hilarious, obviously).

At the end of the day, this is the woman who's there for your best moments...

...your worst moments...

...and your, um, other moments.

Because she loves you—and because one day, she knows you'll return the favor (*wink*).
