NFL Player Randall Cobb Marries Aiyda Ghahramani in Lavish, Green Bay Packers-Studded New York City Wedding
The kickoff… to marriage! NFL player Randall Cobb is officially married to longtime love Aiyda Ghahramani, the couple confirms exclusively to The Knot. The Green Bay Packers wide receiver and his bride exchanged vows on Saturday, April 15 in New York City, celebrating their love before 250 guests in a lavish, black-tie wedding.
"I'm excited to have the people we love most, together, in the same room to celebrate our union,” Cobb tells The Knot. “I’m very lucky to marry my best friend and spend the rest of my life with her."
Ghahramani adds, “I can’t wait to share my life with Randall. He is truly the kindest, most supportive gentleman I have ever met.”
To kick off their wedding weekend, the couple hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner at Shay & Ivy on Friday evening followed by a welcome reception. During the Flatiron dinner, the bride and groom toasted to their immediate family members and the wedding party comprised of nine groomsmen and eight bridesmaids. Falling under the category of groomsmen were two of Cobb’s teammates, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and receiver Jordy Nelson.
The pair chose New York City for sentimental reasons. The future spouses first met in 2011 at an EA Sports event at Manhattan hotspot Lavo. “It was such a special night for us,” the bride recalls. “We had an instant connection and became fast friends.”
The timing, however, couldn’t have been more complicated. Ghahramani had just entered law school in New Hampshire, and Cobb was one week away from one of the biggest moments in his athletic career. Though he didn’t know it at the time, a week later, the prolific football player was drafted by the Packers.
“Our foundation of love has always been our friendship,” says Ghahramani, who now practices law in Washington, D.C. “We are truly best friends, partners and equals.”
