Sheryl Sandberg Is Engaged to Tom Bernthal

Sheryl Sandberg has found love again! The Facebook COO and acclaimed author of Lean In is engaged to boyfriend Tom Bernthal, the couple revealed to People on Monday, February 3. In fact, Sandberg and Bernthal were set up by Rob Goldberg, the brother of Sandberg's late husband Dave Goldberg.

"They just clicked right away and have been completely committed to each other since they met," a source told the mag. "The Sandberg/Goldberg and Bernthal families have become very close and are thrilled that both of them have found happiness. Both Tom and Sheryl share a strong commitment to all the same things, especially family and philanthropy."

Bernthal is the CEO of a consulting agency known as Kelton Global. He was close friends with both Goldberg brothers, and started dating Sandberg last spring. The couple's first date reportedly involved a long hike, a moment that Bernthal recreated for his proposal. The strategic consulting executive popped the question after the two hiked and enjoyed a picnic at Vermejo Park Ranch.

Of course, Bernthal's engagement ring design was just as thoughtful. People reports that he specifically designed a ring including five concealed diamonds under the setting as a nod to their five respective children. Of course, the pair has received the support of Rob Goldberg throughout their relationship, after his late brother and Sandberg's first husband, Dave, tragically passed away in 2015.

"Both of them have gone through loss, and just because you have gone through loss doesn't mean you aren't entitled to happiness and joy again," Rob told People in a statement. "They both came out of hard times of their lives still happy and motivated to make their lives better and their kids' lives better."
