Communication was very difficult with some staff during the course of our planning. It wasn’t until we brought up catering (that we planned through the venue) wasn’t able to be don...
e and that they contracted with outside caterers now and they knew about our menu. After contacting the outside caterer, they had no idea what we were talking about.
Lack of communication and multiple cancelled meetings (even a no show) led to a lot of unneeded stress for what should be a happy time.
As we approached our wedding, we started working directly with the owner of the venue and they were great to work with! He ensured that our wedding would go off without a hitch… and I must say… he was right. Outside of one staff member (who we ended up never seeing again during our planning process) our wedding at The Upstairs was fantastic. So many people came up to us saying how much they enjoyed the venue. Those who helped with decorating were great to work with the day of and prior to our wedding. Jess stepped up and did an amazing job coordinating our wedding and at the end, we were still very pleased with the venue and how our wedding went.

indoor wedding of about 120 ish guests, including a lot of kids.
One of the standout moments for us was how accommodating the staff was (Ann), especially in helping make a comfortable space for our autistic son. That extra level of care meant the world to us.
The food was amazing - our quests are still talking about it! We went with the Italian option and definitely getting the cannoli's. The staff on the day of the wedding was fantastic, handling everything from the ceremony to the reception flip with such professionalism and ease. Everything ran smoothly, and we felt so well taken care of.
We would recommend Upstairs by Oakley Kitchen to other couples looking for a unique and beautiful space!
