A Brief History of Wedding Dress Designer Allison Webb

Born and raised in Georgia, Webb attended the University of Georgia before moving to New York City, where she received a degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design. She began her career interning at Chado Ralph Rucci, where she witnessed the art of couture dressmaking firsthand. Her devotion to luxury craftsmanship led her to the studio of Oscar de la Renta, where she spent a year working alongside the iconic designer and his team. Soon after, Allison worked for J.Crew, helping with their ready-to-wear and bridal collections and later becoming their embellishment designer. Allison's career progressed with roles at Tory Burch and ANN INC., where she designed luxury embellishments and bridal gowns.

Allison Webb Collection History

The Allison Webb Spring 2019 collection features tailored gowns mixed with rhinestone florals, 3-D textures and dramatic silhouettes to offer classic brides a wow factor on their day. The perfect example of the collection's aesthetic is their "Covington" gown, which is a column piece with a statement overskirt, and a bodice decked out in crystals and pearls.

The label's fall 2019 collection includes 14 unique styles — everything from an off-the-shoulder ball gown with a ruched bodice to a figure-hugging sheath with a cape. Most notably, there is one wedding dress with an on-trend mock neckline.

The Allison Webb Spring 2020 collection promises to offer many formal looks with clean, structured silhouettes for the traditional bride, as well as dresses with flowy skirts for the more whimsical bride.
