If you're looking for a timeless bridal look, there's something inherently chic about tea-length wedding dresses. Also referred to as midi length, a tea-length gown typically falls somewhere between knee-length and the ankle—however, it can also include longer ankle-length styles.

A tea-length wedding dress is a great option if you're planning a courthouse or beach wedding where you might not want a more formal floor-length gown. If your wedding dress is super formal, a tea-length style also makes a great reception outfit change on your wedding day.

Whether you're looking for retro and vintage styles straight out of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel or a dramatic backless taffeta gown worthy of the red carpet, there are tea-length wedding dresses for every taste and bridal style. See below for some of our favorite midi- and ankle-length wedding gowns.

The Best Tea Length Wedding Dresses For Every Style

Tea-length wedding dresses have been a beloved bridal style for decades and it's no mystery why. The Knot's Editorial Designer, Tiana Crispino, who wore a tea-length look to her own nuptials, says she first fell in love with the style through the Old Hollywood timeless fashion of Audrey Hepburn. "From Funny Face to Sabrina, to even her personal wedding dress, Audrey always rocked a tea-length dress and from there, I was sold." Before deciding on the style, Tiana knew she wanted a more laid-back look for her intimate elopement on the Oregon coast. "It was just us on the beach so we went more casual, but as we planned our bigger celebration with family and friends last year, I tried on lots of long dresses and never found something that felt like me and the tea-length dresses I found were few and far between."

For Tiana, this less-lengthy style ended up being the perfect fit. "I twirled the night away in my tea-length dress and wouldn't have had it any other way," she says. For brides hoping to do the same on their special day, the good news is that there are plenty of tea-length looks available to shop now, and many can be shipped straight to your door. Here, we've rounded up a few of our favorites for 2024.
