It was a very, very extraordinary elopement for The Parent Trap actor Dennis Quaid and his new wife, Laura Savoie. The couple exchanged vows in Santa Barbara, California, in early June, they revealed June 24.

"It was beautiful," Quaid told People, which unveiled the first photo. Quaid and Savoie's ceremony was a true elopement—only the couple and their pastor to serve as the witness. The ceremony included traditional wedding vows and the pair exchanged rings. "Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride," Quaid, 66, said of his new wife, 27.

The spouses originally had planned a destination wedding in Hawaii in April, but the coronavirus pandemic thwarted their initial plans. A second wedding reception for loved ones was also in the works originally, but that event also had to be postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 group gathering regulations and restrictions per region. Instead, they decided, for now, that a minimony best suited their current situation.

The Day After Tomorrow star proposed to Savoie in Hawaii in October 2019, after mere months of dating. According to the publication, the pair first met at a business event before the relationship turned romantic in May 2019. (Quaid is the co-founder of a company called Audio Up and Savoie has a master's degree in accountancy.)

"I wanted it to be private," he previously told Extra of the proposal. "She was actually taking a selfie of us, and I put the ring in front and said, 'Will you marry me?' And then she fell down… It happened on the very northernmost point of Oahu, at Turtle Bay. It was kind of spontaneous. It was very much a surprise."

On his Instagram Stories, Quaid shared the first photo from his nuptials and added a wink face with the caption: "Cat's out of the bag." This is the fourth marriage for Quaid, who was previously with actresses Meg Ryan, P.J. Soles and Kimberly Quaid.
