Exclusive: 'Say Yes to the Dress' Returns With a COVID Episode—Watch the Preview

What happens when social distancing meets TLC's Say Yes to the Dress? An entirely new dress shopping experience that's safe, and still a good time. In a new exclusive clip from the season premiere of the popular reality show, designer Hayley Paige surprises a bride whose dress shopping experience has seemingly been foiled by the coronavirus pandemic.

Little does she know: Paige is about to swing by her home with a slew of dress options for at-home try-ons. With the onset of COVID-19, many bridal salons, including Kleinfeld Bridal, had to pivot their businesses after physically closing their boutiques to guests. Instead, many local businesses across the country began alternative dress shopping experiences and fulfilled orders by providing digital appointments, at-home try-ons and more.

With the help of her partner Conrad Louis, the designer shows up to the bride's front stoop in a mask with a car haul full of potential dress options. From there, they share a non-traditional COVID-19 dress shopping experience all while maintaining a six-feet distance from one another.

The onset of the pandemic this spring created initial concern for brides in their dress shopping and wedding planning process. Salon owners quickly found inventive new ways to fulfill orders for their clients, along with unique virtual dress shopping experiences. "What's so important for brides, as they're hedging on postponement questions and planning, is they do not hit pause on the planning process," Beth Chapman, the founder of the White Dress Society, previously said. "From a shopping perspective, that means to keep gaining inspiration. Use this time to research the stores of where you want to shop when this is all over. It'll allow you to narrow down your selection and you'll be that much more focused and closer to making your decision when you go into the store."
