One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush and boyfriend Grant Hughes are engaged. The former CW star took to Instagram in August 2021, to share a photo from the destination proposal, where Hughes popped the question on a boat in Lake Como. "So it turns out that being your favorite person's favorite person is the actual best feeling on planet Earth," she shared on social media. "#YES."
The actress also thanked Como Classic Boats and photography studio Bottega 53 for helping plan and capture the sweeping gesture, one that she described as "the most incredible, moving surprise of my life." Bush commented, "My heart. It bursts."
Six weeks later, the future spouses walked their first red carpet together at the 2021 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. "It's funny. I think when you're an adult and you understand what mental health is and you know all of the things we have learned, as individuals, you always hear that marriage is work and it's the best job you'll ever have, but it requires effort," the podcast host told People. "And we got engaged and I looked around and said, 'Why didn't anyone tell me how sweet and pure this would be?' It's just so sweet and it's a time that I'm very intentionally cherishing. And you know, more adventures on the horizon."

Bush and Hughes were first linked together in May 2020. The future groom is the founder of a company known as FocusMotion Health. Bush is an activist and podcaster, who is perhaps best known for her role as Brooke Davis. She has been rather private about her relationships especially with the spotlight on her love life since the series aired in 2003.
"It would be, 'What are you wearing? And how's your boyfriend?' And it's like, 'What does that have to do with anything about my work, my life?'" she previously told Entertainment Tonight in an interview. "I really think the kind of gamification of people's private intimacy is just creepy to me. So I don't really hide what's going on in my life, but I don't flaunt it."

This will be the second marriage for Bush, who was previously married to her co-star, Chad Michael Murray, from 2005 to 2006.
