Love is certainly in the air this year, as we've witnessed quite a few celebrity engagements take over the internet. Some of our favorite famous couples took the next big step in their relationships, which means we have a new wave of celebrity weddings to get excited about. From intimate and low-key proposals at home to lavish gestures that reached instant viral status, these announcements sent fans (and The Knot editors) into a frenzy, with social media buzzing over dazzling engagement rings and heartfelt moments alike. Some couples had been together for years, while others surprised everyone with whirlwind romances that quickly led to their down-on-one-knee moment. Either way, we can't get enough of these swoon-worthy proposals. Look back on all of the celebrity engagements that defined 2025 so far.
Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison: January 2025
Starting the year off as fiancés? We're obsessed. Although there was plenty of speculation that Chloë Grace Moretz and her partner Kate Harrison got engaged in 2024, the couple confirmed their relationship update on January 1, 2025, when they posted a photo dump showing off coordinating diamond rings. "Happiest New Year ❤️. So thankful for what this year has brought," Moretz wrote. "The people, the places, our families, our health, our love. Wishing all of you a peaceful start to this new year." As the first confirmed celebrity engagement of 2025 (that we know of), they wasted no time tying the knot. The couple exchanged vows over Labor Day weekend, and Moretz wore a striking light blue Louis Vuitton wedding dress for the occasion.
Zendaya and Tom Holland: January 2025

While Zendaya and Tom Holland are also rumored to have gotten engaged in 2024, the actress hard-launched the news by debuting her engagement ring at the Golden Globes on January 5. Unsurprisingly, the dazzling gemstone caused quite a stir. Reportedly designed by renowned celebrity jeweler Jessica McCormack, Holland proposed with an elongated cushion or an oval diamond in a modern east-west setting.

Lo Bosworth and Domenic Natale: January 2025
The Hills alum Lo Bosworth announced her engagement to investor Domenic Natale on January 21, 2025, writing, "For you, my darling, it could only be a 'yes.' Thank you for being the best that one could be, for me. All my love, L." The couple fast-tracked their engagement and tied the knot just six months later at her family's home in Laguna Beach on July 20. They also used their wedding day to reveal that they're expecting their first child together.
Lainey Wilson and Duck Hodges: February 2025
She said yes…and yeehaw. On February 12, country music star Lainey Wilson announced her engagement to former NFL quarterback Devlin "Duck" Hodges. The athlete popped the question on the porch of a private home, which he decorated with candles, roses and framed photos. Even more meaningful, though, was the cowboy hat-shaped ring box he presented her unique cluster engagement ring in. Wilson shared the news on Instagram with a nod to one of her songs (which Hodges may have inspired), captioning it, "4x4xU forever ❤️."
Winnie Harlow and Kyle Kuzma: February 2025
Winnie Harlow and Kyle Kuzma caught flights *and* feelings this year. The model announced her engagement to the NBA player on February 18, and while we were dazzled by her 8-carat oval engagement ring, we couldn't help but swoon over the private jet setting. Kuzma pulled out all the stops for the lavish engagement by covering the aircraft with dozens of red roses.
DK Metcalf and Normani: March 2025

NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf took Normani by total surprise when he proposed on a trip to Houston in March 2025. "Oh my goodness, honestly, I knew absolutely nothing," the Fifth Harmony songstress told Vogue after the engagement. "As oblivious as oblivious can get, that was pretty much me." The athlete presented her with a beautiful oval-shaped diamond on a sparkly pavé band, which she flaunted during a press conference that announced his trade from the Seattle Seahawks to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gabby Thomas and Spencer McManes: March 2025

While sprinter Gabby Thomas took home three gold medals from the 2024 Olympics in Paris, she received a different kind of hardware this year: an engagement ring from her boyfriend, Spencer McManes. The athlete announced her engagement to the entrepreneur on March 25. Although she knew a proposal was imminent—he did take her to Tiffany's to go ring shopping on Valentine's Day, after all—she didn't expect him to pop the question on the rooftop of an Airbnb they booked for a staycation in Texas. "Normally he's very bad with surprises—and this was the one surprise I think I've ever witnessed him keep," Thomas told Vogue.

The Knot exclusively revealed the engagement of WNBA star Allisha Gray on April 4, 2025. The athlete got engaged on March 29, making it a March Madness to remember. Her fiancé, Tim Mangum Jr., convinced Gray that she and her sister were booked for a magazine photo shoot. (It was the only way he could get his S.O. in a dress without raising suspicions, he told us.) But when the Atlanta Dream guard arrived at the venue, she knew something else was brewing. "I saw rose petals on the ground and I thought, 'What kind of photo shoot is this?'" Eventually, she found Mangum waiting for her surrounded by photos and the words "Marry Me" spelled out in marquee letters.
Simu Liu and Allison Hsu: May 2025
She said oui! Marvel and Barbie star Simu Liu proposed to Allison Hsu, a music marketing director, amid a lush display of pastel flowers and candles on a rooftop in Paris. The couple shared the happy news with a joint post on Instagram on May 11, 2025, writing, "From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always 🤍." The post also gave a close-up look at Hsu's classic oval-shaped engagement ring, which is set on a thin gold band.
Jason Segel and Kayla Radomski: June 2025
How I Met Your Mother star Jason Segel proposed to So You Think You Can Dance alum Kayla Radomski in June 2025. The actor popped the question in an outdoor garden, which was decorated with clusters of pink and red flowers and sprawling greenery. The professional dancer shared photos from the romantic engagement with a simple caption: "FOREVER YES 💍♥️."
Becca Tilley and Hayley Kiyoko: July 2025
Becca Tilley and Hayley Kiyoko had one of the most anticipated celebrity engagements of 2025. Considering they've been together for seven years, fans were anxiously awaiting this relationship milestone for the singer and Bachelor alum. Kiyoko proposed with an elongated cushion-shaped diamond on a cliff overlooking crystalline blue water, which the fiancés quickly jumped into after Tilley said yes.

After a reporter asked about Preti during a post-match press conference, Williams opened up about how he helped her amid her comeback. "My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing," she said. "There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill. Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? You guys don't know how much work goes into this, like it's nine-to-five except you're running the whole time. Lifting weights and just like dying and then you repeat it the next day. On August 2, The Knot exclusively revealed that YouTuber Alex Wassabi and actress Alexxis Lemire are engaged. Although the proposal actually took place in June, the couple kept the news low-key for the majority of the summer. To truly shock his girlfriend, Wassabi orchestrated a fake music video shoot for an original song they wrote together. While filming, he dropped to one knee to present her with a custom Jean Dousset engagement ring, which he engraved with an X on the inside of the band as a nod to the shared letter in their names. "I didn't realize what was happening until after he said my name and tears started welling up in his eyes," Lemire said. "That's when I thought 'Oh…it's happening!' It was the celebrity engagement that rocked the world. On August 26, 2025—notably 13 days after she made her New Heights podcast debut—Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement. The highly-anticipated news sent the internet ablaze. Within the first week, the joint post racked up over 30 million likes, making it one of the top-10 most liked Instagram posts of all time. Considering their high-profile romance started with a friendship bracelet and a viral podcast clip, the couple's big day (which many are already calling the "American royal wedding") is poised to be the most buzzed about celebrity event in recent years.
