While celebrating her 20th birthday at a college party, Kendra Shaw met Julius Randle through a mutual friend. In an interview with Wedding Style Magazine, she recalled that he stood out for having great manners, which was "unusual for the average college guy," she said. "He wished me a happy birthday and thanked me for having him!"
Not long after, Julius invited her out to dinner—and the rest is history. "I had never dated a basketball player, but he was genuine and sweet and I knew it would be okay," she told the outlet. The following year, Julius was drafted to play in the NBA by the Los Angeles Lakers, and Kendra moved to California with him.

While on a vacation to Greece in 2016, Julius Randle proposed to Kendra Shaw. This NBA wife's engagement ring is one of the glitziest: she wears a large cushion-cut diamond set in a halo of smaller diamonds on a sparkly pavé band, designed by Jason of Beverly Hills.

December 23, 2016: Kendra and Julius Randle's First Child is Born
Later that year, Kendra and Julius Randle's first child was born. The fiancés announced that they were expecting a little one in August, and Kyden Jay Randle was born on December 23, 2016.

October 2021: Kendra and Julius Randle's Second Child is Born
In June 2021, Kendra Randle announced that she and her husband were expecting another child together. "This year has been full of blessings but this is by far our biggest🤎 #RandlePartyOf4 🤎," she captioned a collection of maternity photos on Instagram.
Jayce Carter Randle was born on October 16, 2021, and the new parents announced the happy news by sharing a photo of their baby laying on his dad's NBA jersey. A few months later, the youngest Randle made his debut at Madison Square Garden in April 2022 as the family cheered on Julius at a game. Since then, Kendra, Kyden and Jayce have been constant courtside fixtures at the arena.

Julis Randle and wife Kendra's wedding was nothing short of a fairytale. The couple swapped vows on August 3, 2017, at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, a gorgeous waterfront venue just outside of Los Angeles. It was a family affair, as the couple's son Kyden made his entrance down the aisle in a floral wagon pulled by the flower girl. "Seeing our son come down the aisle gave me a sense of completion and fullness, making me proud that our family was becoming one," the groom told Wedding Style Magazine.
Following the ceremony, which took place on a rotunda that offered sweeping views of the ocean, the newlyweds entered their reception by showing off their best freestyle dance moves. After their first dance together, the bride shared a dance with her grandmother while Julius danced with his mom.
Plenty of the groom's NBA friends were in attendance, including some Lakers teammates who gave a "hilarious cocktail-fueled, off-the-cuff presentation" set to the tune of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, per the outlet.
As a nod to their Texas and Kentucky roots, Julius and Kendra Randle's wedding menu included plenty of classic Southern comfort dishes like chicken and waffles, as well as pecan and apple pies.
With good eats and good music, the couple's reception lasted long into the evening. "Everybody from my grandparents to Julius' teammates [were] up and dancing all night," Kendra reflected. "You genuinely could feel the love in the room."

In their 10 years together, Kendra and Julius Randle have created a strong relationship foundation that withstands the pressure of life in the NBA spotlight. In a November 2019 interview with the New York Post, the NBA player opened up about their choice to get married in their early 20s. "You never really plan when you're going to get married," he told the outlet. "It was more about the individual. My wife was the perfect individual for me. I didn't see any point in waiting. She was the person I knew I wanted to be with—young or not. It didn't matter what part of my life I met her—I knew I wanted to marry her. But we were together four years before we got married anyway."
Their love for each other was on full display in May 2023 when the athlete kissed his wife on the court after winning a playoff game in the Eastern Conference semifinals. But when former NBA player Kenyon Martin criticized their public display of affection, Kendra was quick to jump to her husband's defense. "Slow news day I guess. Both of us grew up in single parent homes. We never saw our dads respect our mothers," she wrote on X. "I'm so grateful my kids get to grow up watching their dad be the best father and husband."
