Meet Kevin Love's wife-to-be Kate Bock. The NBA player revealed on Sunday, January 31, that he proposed to his model girlfriend on her birthday. "'Souls tend to go back to who feels like home,'" Love wrote on Instagram, quoting N.R. Hart. "My Fiancé," he added. "The Joy of My Life."

The proposal took place on Bock's 28th birthday in a cozy tented area. "Well, this was the best birthday surprise I could have ever imagined," the model wrote on her account. "I couldn't be happier to have been asked to be a Love by my love."

Love proposed with what appears to be a large cushion cut diamond ring. The romantic moment took place outdoors. Both were clad in outerwear, though the cold didn't appear to detract from the surprise gesture.

The Cleveland Cavaliers forward and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model first met in 2016. The relationship was long-distance in the beginning stages, which Bock touched in a 2017 interview with Ocean Drive. "Cleveland is only like an hour-long flight from New York," she noted. "So I go back and forth between here and there and jobs, and then sometimes meet him on the road if it makes sense, so I see him pretty often even though we live in different cities and both travel for work. We make it work, so that's kind of fun."

Love, 32, has an apartment in New York City, which was featured recently by Architectural Digest. "The biggest luxury New York has is New Yorkers," he said in the feature. "I like the idea of not only being a basketball player, but also exposing myself to all walks of life, to every type of person. New York stokes the fire of my intellectual curiosity—without fear or prejudice."
