"Our greatest hope was to give everyone a joyful, low-stress weekend full of warmth and a window into our relationship and the life that we are building," Platt told Vogue. "And we wanted the dancing to go off. We feel that all missions were accomplished!"
Platt, an actor who you probably know from Pitch Perfect and The Politician, got his big break in the Broadway world when he landed the titular character role in the original cast of Dear Evan Hansen. Following his two-year run, he was replaced by actor Noah Galvin, who had stints in shows like The Good Doctor and The Real O'Neals. Although they originally met in 2014, the two became close friends amid the transition of the role, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Noah Galvin and Ben Platt's wedding took place over Labor Day weekend in New York City. The couple's celebration began with a Shabbat welcome dinner on Manhattan's Lower East Side, a nod to Platt's Jewish religion. "Since some of Ben's family are observant Jews, we couldn't get married until Sunday when Shabbat was over, so to keep the party going we had a bar hang with some games and Lombardi's pizza on Saturday night at Cellar Dog in the West Village," Galvin told Vogue.

The "official" wedding took place at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Guests gathered around a marigold chuppah in a shape the couple wanted to feel like "a big hug." The mothers of the grooms surprised the crowd by performing a traditional Jewish song during the ceremony. "And then, we both stepped on glasses," Galvin recalled, "And they broke, thank god!"
Allowing their stylist, Jared Ellner, to oversee their wedding day attire, Galvin wore a cream set inspired by 1950s French workwear, and Platt donned a 1970s-inspired cream suit. They exchanged wedding bands designed by Grace Lee, and Platt accessorized with a vintage ring that belonged to his great-uncle Gary Platt, whom he considers his "first queer role model."
The wedding reception consisted of a "raging" 30-minute hora, dinner and speeches. Then, the newlyweds surprised their loved ones with a surprise concert by their favorite band, Muna. The fun continued at another NYC bar where the group enjoyed Shake Shack—and, of course, a Broadway music singalong until the early hours of the morning. "We couldn't have asked for anything more," Galvin told the outlet. "We are still floating. And mostly we're happy we get to keep hanging out forever."

How did Ben Platt and his husband Noah Galvin meet? While many fans believe they connected through the bright lights of Broadway, they actually met in 2014. At the time, Galvin was creating a web series and asked Platt to have a role. "Our first meeting was shooting with a tiny crew in his mom's old apartment doing improv together," Platt told Vogue in 2024. "I was playing his weird roommate who loved cacti and cried over his distant cousin Josh Groban. Noah was medium into it."

In 2016, Ben Platt originated the role of Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway. His work was highly acclaimed by critics and fans, and he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. Platt held the titular character role until November 2017, and upon his departure, he was replaced by Galvin. Amid the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Noah Galvin and Ben Platt moved in together in Platt's childhood home. The duo documented their time together, often posting "#QuaranTunes Dance Parties" on Instagram.
In an interview with Kelly Clarkson, Platt told the songstress that the pandemic went from "zero to 60" for them. "It ended up being a beautiful time," he said of the experience.
