Hannah Ann's Wedding Details

Early in our conversation, Sluss admitted that she and Funk didn't start dreaming up their wedding day immediately after the proposal. "We waited about six months," the bride-to-be tells us. "I was in the process of buying my first house, which was my priority. With weddings, once you start [planning], you really have to prioritize it and all the expenses that come with it."

Plus, given Funk's hectic schedule in the NFL, which led them to move around the country quite a few times, they weren't in a rush to begin. "It wasn't like we put a timeline on ourselves," Sluss adds. "We started when we felt the most settled."

Now, Jake and Hannah Ann's wedding is set to take place in the summer of 2024 at a destination soon-to-be revealed. Get an exclusive glimpse of what the nuptials will look like below.

The Aesthetic Will Be "Timeless and Fresh"

When asked to describe her wedding aesthetic in a few words, Sluss called it "timeless and fresh." "There are some pretty big aspects of our wedding that have been simplified," she explains, "but there are other aspects that I'm hoping look really well done."

Throughout the process, she explains that she was open to tossing tradition in favor of creating a celebration that felt authentic to her and her love story. "With weddings, you don't have to do the traditions, or what your family or friends have done," she explains. "A wedding is all about your commitment to one another, but also letting it fit into your life. Our lives are very different, and we wanted our wedding to be able to easily fit into that."

This leads into the top piece of wedding planning advice she's learned along the way, which she urges other to-be-weds to consider. "Listen to one another," she suggests. "Don't allow the wedding planning to distract you from the true point of what's going on: preparing your lives to be married. It's such a huge commitment and truly one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make in your life. Focus on that and make sure you're preparing your hearts and your lives for marriage, not so much the event."

The Weekend Will Be "Simplified"

Although Sluss admits to having high standards for her wedding weekend, she says that she and her fiancé have made a conscious effort to create a stress-free experience. "It was just about enjoying the process and not taking on too much responsibility," she adds. "Our lives are already pretty hectic enough!"

She's Leaning On Her Vendors

To ease the responsibilities of planning a wedding, the couple was intentional about hiring vendors they could trust to bring their vision to life. Though they opted to forgo a planner, they did enlist the help of a day-of coordinator to make sure "everything is packaged up" when the day arrives.

One of the pros the bride is most excited about is her photographer, Janna Brown. "Photography is something I really prioritized and that I feel like is the most fun," Sluss says. "She was my top priority, and honestly I kind of rearranged everything around her. She gets the vision I'm wanting."

She's also excitedly awaiting the debut of her wedding dress, which she sourced from The Wedding Studio in Indiana. "I found them because they were on HGTV," she smiles. "They made the process much more simplified for me. They truly went with what I wanted to do and what I felt comfortable in."

On the other hand, one of the couple's more non-traditional vendor decisions revolves around their catering. "My mom got her wedding cake from Publix, so that's probably what I'll end up doing because I love the Publix bakery," she laughs.

She's Using Her Wedding to Give Back

One of the key ways Sluss is revamping tradition is by using her wedding registry to give back. "For one of my bridal showers, my friend suggested doing a registry. Instead, I thought I'd rather add more meaning to this gathering," she explains, sharing that she's inviting her guests to donate to Susan G. Komen in honor of breast cancer research and awareness. "[It's] an amazing organization that supports other women, and giving back adds more purpose and meaning to getting together."

There May Be Bachelor Stars in Attendance

As is common with Bachelor weddings, there is a chance a few of Sluss' closest franchise friends will be in attendance. "I really appreciate all of the friendships I've made [from the show]," she tells us, calling out Tayshia Adams, Amanda Stanton and Victoria Fuller as some of her nearest and dearest. "It's been cool to know all the girls before they met their partners, and to be able to go to all of their big life events."

She explained that after a night out, she was scanning her messages on the app and noticed one from Funk. "I was looking through my DMs, and I get this DM from Jake that says, 'Shooter's shoot.' I ended up saying back 'Slam dunk.'"

She admitted that she wasn't exactly interested at first. She also wasn't sure if she wanted to meet up with a stranger, not knowing whether or not he'd just want to talk about her time on The Bachelor. But she gave him a chance and was pleasantly surprised by the whole interaction. "What really stood out to me about him was he was the only guy that I have ever gone on a date with that didn't ask me about the show. We were able to keep things private and really get to know each other."

Sluss also mentioned that Funk told her he loved her just two weeks after they started dating. "We love a guy that isn't afraid to share his emotions," she added. In an interview with People, Funk said, "I really just wanted to get to know her as a person. I'm not trying to date you because you're on TV. I want to date Hannah, the girl from Knoxville, Tennessee. This girl is everything I ever wanted. Our future is not our past."
