2017: Junelle Bromfield Slides into Noah Lyles' DMs
It all began in the DMs. On an episode of the Fast Lane Lifestyle podcast, Junelle Bromfield confirmed she slid into Noah Lyles' Instagram messages in 2017. After chatting for a few weeks, they exchanged numbers to play iPhone games. Alas, because of their rigorous training schedules (and the distance between Florida and Jamaica), it took about a year for Lyles and Bromfield to officially meet in person.
2018: Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield Go on Their First Date
The couple's first date occurred in 2018 when Bromfield flew from Jamaica to Miami to meet Lyles for the first time—but it wasn't exactly love at first sight. "We commit to this date and she comes by and it just didn't click," Lyles recalled on the podcast.
Although he introduced her to Red Lobster (and their infamous cheddar biscuits), the spark wasn't there. Citing nerves, Bromfield admitted that she didn't talk much during their time together. "We went on the date and we were like, 'No, let's just be friends,'" she added.
February 2022: Noah and Junelle Go on Their Second Date
Given their distance and inability to align their schedules, the couple went on to date other people over the years. Even though they ran into each other at the Tokyo Olympics (which took place in 2021 due to the pandemic), they didn't truly reconnect until early 2022. Both single at the time, Bromfield said she'd be in New York in February, to which Lyles said, "Dang, wouldn't it be crazy if I just showed up?"
Their second date took place that weekend at Ocean Prime, an elevated seafood restaurant. Over breakfast the next morning, Bromfield said she knew she wanted to make things official with Lyles.
August 2022: Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield Begin Dating
Finally, after years of missed connections, Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield began dating in August 2022. At first, they embarked on a "trial run" of sorts, where they prioritized meeting up once a month to check in and ensure their relationship was still going strong. Not long after, Bromfield relocated to Florida, just 30 minutes away from where Lyles lived at the time. In fact, Lyles' mother insisted that Bromfield move into her home so she could get on her feet following the big relocation.
Now, since they train in the same running group, the couple lives together in Miami. "She's part of the family," he said on the podcast.
July 2024: Junelle Bromfield Says Noah Lyles Helped Her Fall in Love With Track Again
After securing her spot in the 2024 Olympics, Junelle Bromfield opened up to The Inside Lane about how Lyles helped her fall in love with her sport again amid the death of her mother, Keisha Caine. Following a cervical cancer diagnosis in January 2021, Caine passed away within one month—and the pain almost led her to quit running entirely.
Alas, Lyles encouraged her to seek help off the track. "So, I started therapy about two years ago because my boyfriend is big on therapy and felt I needed it," she told the outlet in July 2024. "It's been really helpful because I've been dealing with survivor's guilt, which was weighing on me. Now, I feel like I can live my life fully and enjoy every moment because life is short."
August 2024: Noah Lyles' Girlfriend Celebrates His Olympic Gold Medal Win

On August 4, Noah Lyles won the gold medal in the men's 100-meter sprint, officially solidifying his status as the fastest man in the world. After a brief moment of deliberation to determine who actually won the race, which featured a neck-and-neck finish between Team USA and Team Jamaica, Lyles emerged victorious. He ran to the stands to celebrate with his family, including his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield. Overcome with emotion, she hugged Lyles as cameras captured their affectionate celebration.
