Robby Hoffman and Gabby Windey's Wedding Details

Gabby Windey's wedding to Robby Hoffman took place on January 11, 2025, not long after they evacuated their home to escape the Los Angeles wildfires. As the couple began calling hotels in Palm Springs and Las Vegas looking for openings, they found a Sin City destination that offered them the penthouse suite. "It looked like a wedding suite," Hoffman recalled to Cosmo. "Gabby turned to me and she went, 'Should we get married?' And look: I've been proposing since the day I met her. We got to this room and it's like out of a mafia movie, 12-foot ceilings, a separate bedroom from the living room, that type of hotel. And we were like, 'Whoa.' And then Gabby floated getting married."

With their wedding plans falling into place, Hoffman proposed by creating a fake crossword puzzle that spelled, "WILL YOU MARRY ME, GABBY." (It was, of course, inspired by the New York Times word games they play together every morning.) Considering they were only engaged for one day, the couple used the next 24 hours to find outfits, go ring shopping, and book their chapel.

When the ceremony began, Windey walked down the aisle to Chappell Roan's "HOT TO GO." Although the entire wedding was quick, clocking in at just 15 minutes, they did have to recite their vows twice. "There was no performance about it," Windey told the outlet. "I feel like there can be so much pressure on whoever's watching you at weddings. We were so nervous just having it be us, too. Even our vows, I've never heard you talk so fast." Added Hoffman: "We had to reread our vows because I was so excited and nervous."

Looking back, Windey said the setup reminded her of her days on ABC's hit dating show. "In a weird way, it was giving Bachelor because there were roses everywhere," she explained. "I never envisioned my wedding as a kid or anything, but that's part of what made this feel so right. Actually being there and feeling it, it was so us."

Who is Gabby Windey's Spouse, Robby Hoffman?

Gabby Windey is married to comedian Robby Hoffman. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Hoffman moved to Canada and was raised in Montreal alongside her nine siblings. Although she studied at McGill University and enrolled in the school's graduate CPA program, she dropped out after just one day to pursue a career in comedy. The decision turned out to be the right one, as she went on to become an Emmy-award winning comedian. She released her first stand-up special, I'm Nervous, in 2019, and has written for shows like The Chris Gethard Show, Baroness Von Sketch Show, and Workin' Moms. In 2019, she won the Children's & Family Emmy Award for outstanding writing in Odd Squad.

How Gabby Windey and Robby Hoffman Met

In a conversation with Interview Magazine, Gabby Windey revealed that she met Robby Hoffman through mutual friends outside of a gay bar in 2023. "I was still exploring my sexuality, and I had one bisexual friend who was like, 'Let's go to some events, spread your wings, meet people.' And her girlfriend was a fan of Robby's comedy, and we were on the way out and Robby was like, 'What's going on?' She had kind of noticed me from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette and all she kept saying was 'The Bachelor's gay!' I was so confused. But Robby has mad game, as you can imagine, so I was hooked, lined and sinkered." (For context, Windey's stint as The Bachelorette aired in 2022, and at this point, she had not publicly addressed her sexuality.)

Saying that she always had an "intuition" that she might not be straight, Windey noted that Hoffman helped her explore that side of her sexuality. "I was never afraid of being outed or anything. I'll try anything once—twice if I like it," she said. "And I feel like I'm so blessed with exploring my sexuality, because Robby and I met so early and it just solidified things."
