Mayfair Farms is a historic restaurant and catering facility that hosts weddings, based in West Orange, NJ. Situated on 13 acres of elegantly manicured lawns and carefully tended gardens, the splendor of this venue is sure to captivate couples and guests alike.
Founded in 1942, the business was established by Martin L. Horn Sr. He decided to purchase a property in the area and renovate it from a home residence to a private luncheon club. The idea was a success, and Martin was subsequently elected as the very first president of the New Jersey Restaurant Association. Four generations of the Horn family have continued this legacy of excellence, now guided by Martin’s four grandsons, Peter, Marty, Jimmy, and Don Jr.
With majestic fireplaces and mahogany bars, Mayfair Farms retains an air of historical splendor. Couples will have a choice of indoor and outdoor locations to host their ceremony. Should they dream of an outdoor ceremony, they can exchange vows in the enchanting gardens, with a reception in the resplendent Wellington Garden room. This terrace-level room can accommodate upto 250 guests, and has a private patio. For indoor receptions, couples will have access to the Windsor Ballroom. With high ceilings and large windows overlooking the picturesque surroundings, this is an opulent area that can accommodate upward of 500 guests. For more intimate indoor gatherings, the venue can offer La Petite and Mayfair rooms, which can accommodate between 40-100 guests. While smaller in size, the feeling of grandeur continues into these spaces with original architectural details.
This venue is as proud of their catering as they are of their history. In 2010, they decided to re-establish a Victory Garden within its grounds, where they produce organic herbs and vegetables. These ingredients are used in the cuisine, providing a taste of excellence. For weddings, a wide and varied menu is available including delights such as grilled swordfish and free-range chicken. The catering team can provide a customer-designed wedding cake, as well as a range of dessert stations. This venue can also offer a premium open bar with a selection of liquor, wine, and beer. Additional services include valet parking, attendants for coat rooms and bathrooms, and bar service. For the couple’s convenience, the site can provide items such as linens, fresh flowers for cocktail tables, and place cards. The team is happy to offer a list of preferred vendors, which includes services such as entertainment and music, florists, limousine hires and photographers. Couples will also have access to a wedding consultant to assist them in the planning of their event.

As parents of the bride this venue surpassed all of our expectations. Working with Joan was a pleasure. The food was exceptional and the setting was beautiful. The acoustics in the room were excellent for the music and guests were able hear one another at the tables. Many guests said it was the best wedding they ever attended.
We had to deal with a lot of external obstacles when planning our wedding (a Covid-19 induced postponement, our sales rep at Mayfair Farms leaving/retiring, etc) but Mayfair Farms really pulled off an amazing day for us. We were treated so well at our private food tasting. We were able to bring all of our decor and favors the day before our wedding and just check in one last time. They also always answered our calls and emails. They really paid attention to what we wanted and worked with us. They were also honest about things like how unnecessary and wasteful the To Go station at the end of the night can be and they took $5 per person when we decided to get rid of it. Although this is against their policy, they let us waive the minimum number of guests that we committed to, which we really appreciated because we ended up being 20 people under our minimum. They really work with you and get to you know as a couple and that's so important. The venue itself is so pretty. The grounds offer so many photo ops. They also have two outdoor ceremony options which is really nice. The cocktail hour was phenomenal as was the dinner. The main ballroom is huge and so is the dancefloor and our 150 guests had plenty of space. Another nice perk is having so many hotels in the area as well as a CVS right across the street in case you urgently need something like medicine or hair stuff. I also highly recommend ordering your flowers from Whole Foods in West Orange. You can literally walk from Whole Foods to Mayfair Farms. It's so convenient and they do an amazing job as well. Overall, we had a beautiful wedding and many people raved about the venue itself. We love Mayfair Farms! It's a great value for your money.
We could not be happier with how smoothly the wedding process went and how beautiful our wedding was -- thank goodness we chose Mayfair Farms as our venue! Bill was very responsive to all of our requests, including having a combination of American and Indian food at our reception. He did a great job laying out our options when we had to make a choice for the decor or menu.
The lower, smaller ballroom looked lovely on our wedding day, with small candles and greenery displayed in the cocktail reception area. The guests were raving about the food, especially the dessert selection! Also, our maitre d' and my bridal attendant were so kind and put us at ease.
I could more pleased with how my wedding come out. From our first meeting with Bill, I knew right after that Mayfair Farms was the place I was gonna have it. From the planning, any questions I had they were fabulous. The day of the wedding I couldn’t ask for a great day. Barbara was fantastic with making sure I was taken care of and everything ran so smoothly from start to finish. Food was fantastic as well. People can’t stop talking about how great it was. Thank you to everyone at Mayfair for making my day wonderful and fantastic.
Most amazing venue we ever could have dreamed to have for our wedding day.. they were so amazing and attentive they always made sure we were happy and that everything went perfectly... I am so grateful to Mayfair for making our wedding day so truly special and magical

We had an unbelievable experience at Mayfair Farms. From Bill our sales rep to Joanne the GM to Barbara and Richard who captained our wedding everyone was kind, sweet and accommodating. The food was unbelievable, the room was gorgeous and Mayfair provided personal touches that really made our wedding unique. My Mom (in 1975) and sister (in 2010) both got married at Mayfair as well and each wedding topped the next. It was so special to have three family weddings at the same venue and I can not speak highly enough about our guest experience.
Mayfair Farms is one of the most beautiful venues I’ve ever seen. On top of that, Steve, Barbara, Richard, and their entire staff made my husband and I feel like royalty! It was the most perfect day ever and went absolutely wonderfully! It was set up exactly how we wanted it and the food was spectacular. They are so friendly, flexible, and willing to work with you on anything. I highly recommend them!
Mayfair was exactly the quaint venue we were looking for! If you are looking for a venue that’s more than just a ballroom this a great choice. Richard was with us the entire way for a phone call or a visit. There were a few hiccups day of that were very much dealt with and overall we had a wonderful experience!
We had our wedding there four days ago. Richard and the entire staff were extremely professional, they went above and beyond what was necessary. The food was fantastic and received rave reviews from all of the guests!!! Overall, our experience was absolutely fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone who considering an event there.
I want someone I know to get married here just so I can go back and experience it all over again! Everyone says your wedding goes so fast and they aren't kidding. My husband and I tried our best to take it all in but it definitely flew by. We want to go back just for the cocktail hour so we can try everything we missed the day of our wedding. We had multiple guests tell us our wedding was one of the best they've ever been to! We initially worked with Steve who was great, but then Barbara took over and she handled everything the month before and the day of. She helped to make sure every little detail was perfectly executed. There isn't one thing we could complain about with this venue. From start to finish the service was excellent and everything was absolutely perfect the day of!
My husband and I got married at Mayfair Farms on July 29, 2017. We had our outdoor wedding (~100 guests) on their grounds and the reception in the Wellington ballroom right next to the outdoor wedding spot. We had not initially considered this venue because one of the wedding websites had $$$ next to it and we wanted to keep our wedding budget reasonable. However, we were driving to check out a 7th or 8th wedding venue and drove past Mayfair Farms, saw how beautiful and classy the place was, and called to make an appointment. We met with Steve and it was a beautiful experience from then on. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the place was rather affordable. Steve was absolutely wonderful to work with and he really went out of his way to accommodate our several requests, such as having more vegetarian options (I and almost a third of the guests were vegetarian) and non-alcoholic toasts for teetotalers. My husband is Armenian and I am Indian and we wanted to have elements of our respective cuisines, which wasn't easy. But Steve made that happen, even to the point of getting Armenian cheese and the Indian samosas for the cocktail hour. Barbara was our Maitre D and she sat with us the day before the wedding and answered any last minute questions. She is very good and had everything running as it should be, all while exuding calm, which helped our nerves that day. She also noticed that we didn't have all the name cards and we were able to fix that before the guests started arriving. The other staff at the venue were great too and the food was absolutely delicious. Several of our guests later commented on how much they liked the food and the venue: the grounds are very well kept, the ballroom was elegant, and the porch-like area for the cocktail hour was very beautiful. Overall, it was evident that the staff at Mayfair Farms had worked very hard with us in organizing our big day that went very smoothly. We and our guests had a great time and we would highly recommend Mayfair Farms.
Mayfair Farms was fantastic. I cannot say enough about the venue and the staff. They made us feel like we were having a million dollar wedding. The staff could not do enough for us. The food was great. They had indoor and outdoor accommodations for the ceremony which was necessary.
Steve Meier and the wonderful staff at Mayfair Farms made our wedding go so smoothly we could never thank them enough. From the time we signed our contract until the selections were made for our big day Steve was extremely helpful as this was his area of expertise. We found ourselves rather grateful for his skills when planning our 300+ guest affair. They were extremely accommodating in terms of menus as well the beverage options to bring some 'island' flavor. Steve even went so far as getting the island rum for the open bar at no extra charge. When we had questions or issues with vendors he was happy to jump in and speak with them directly to resolve the situation(s). He also tried to keep us from stressing about the whole thing because we could see how much under control everything was in his hands. Siobhan and Rich and their teams were the best the day of coordinating with our photographers to ensure that we didn't catch glimpses of each other during the prep and pre-ceremony photos. They made sure that the bridal and groom parties had everything they needed in the prep rooms and helped us stay on schedule. The beauty of the venue, with its lush lawns and farm on premises impressed everyone and I even had a few people ask me if I coordinated some of their grounds flowers to match my ceremony (which I didn't) but was a total plus.
We just had our wedding reception there on 11/4/17. It was the most perfect day. I worked with Bill. We booked just about 2 years in advance and Bill was there every step of the way to answer any questions I had. And I had plenty of them. Richard was our maitre d the night of. He was amazing. Everything was set up perfectly . Our guests had a great time and so did we. A big Thanks to everyone at Mayfair Farms!
Mayfair Farms was love at first sight!! While pulling into the beautiful, tree-lined driveway, it was in that moment that I knew this was it! Joanne was the first person at Mayfair Farms who I met with and she was absolutely amazing. Her calming presence made the whole process easy! She helped to bring to life all of my visions for my wedding including her helping to make fresh lemon sorbet for the big day, which is something I always wanted! Richard was my maitre d and he was AMAZING!!! Richard ensured I ate my lemon sorbet while I danced the night away on the dance floor. He was beyond professional and courteous. My bridal attendant, Bertha, was top notch also! She helped me to literally scrub my contacts since my eye makeup had run into my eyes from crying. The service at Mayfair Farms is top notch and you should look no further than here. They are always willing to go above and beyond. Matt and I couldn't have had a better day. Thank you for all that you did for us!!!
The location is fabulous. The grounds are well maintained, and the service is exceptional. Bill Graham was a great person to work with, he was honest and provided us with options to fit our budget. My bridal attendant Nancy......I can't say enough good things about her. If you get married there you'd be lucky to be in Nancy's care; she was the BEST!!! The food is excellent, and they even give you the opportunity to do a proper food tasting prior to your wedding. There are 2 bridal suites, both have ample lighting and seating options. If you're a DIY bride like myself, they are really great as they work with you to allow for set up and delivery of your items. All in all I had the PERFECT wedding!! Thanks Mayfair!
Mayfair Farms was AMAZING!! From the very first time that we entered the venue, we felt so welcomed! Bill Graham was our go-to guy the entire year and a half of planning and he is incredible. He is kind, friendly, and super helpful! Our Matre'd Susan was perfect for us! She did no waste any time and consistently made sure that we had everything that we needed. She was a "take no nonsense" kind of woman and I loved that about her!
The venue allowed us to start making drop-offs the week of our wedding. This was a huge weight off of my shoulders because my apt was overflowing with wedding supplies! They housed them safely for us and returned everything in perfect condition. Our reception space was setup just as I had asked and everything was just beautiful! I highly recommend getting married in their lower garden. It is so beautiful and the pictures of my ceremony are amazing! Every person down to the valet parking attendants were kind, helpful, and super accommodating. My day was nothing short of wonderful and I wish I could relive it all over again.
We had our wedding at Mayfair Farms and I can not say enough about what a positive experience it was! We decided on Mayfair Farms because of the beautiful grounds outside and because of our banquet manager, Richard Bladzinski. He is amazing! After we booked Mayfair Farms and set a date, we felt more pleased with our decision each time that we were in contact with Richard and Mayfair Farms throughout the planning process. Anytime I called Richard during the year prior to our wedding, no question was too silly and it felt as if he was a caring uncle who would do anything to make our wedding special rather than an employee at our wedding venue. My husband and I were a few minutes late to our rehearsal at Mayfair Farms and I worried that our friends and family would be waiting in the heat. Instead, I walked into the venue to find them comfortably hanging out enjoying some beer and champagne that was given to them. On our wedding day, Nancy was assigned to be our bridal assistant and she was dynamite! She worked so hard helping us get ready. Several times she asked our photographer to pause to fix little things she noticed, such as dirty cups in the background, hair caught in a necklace, the way my veil fell so that we would have beautiful wedding photos. She carried my heavy bouquet and train as we walked around the grounds for photos. At the reception her and Richard constantly checked on us and our party. Although we missed most of our cocktail hour, Richard and Nancy made us plates. When Richard offered me calamari, he fed it to me so that I wouldn't get my dress dirty. Dinner was amazing. I ate it the next day because Mayfair Farms made us a doggy bag. So many guests raved about the food. Here's what one of my mother-in-law's friends wrote to her:
Lovely affair!!! Some things you may not be aware of at your own affair, because you are on cloud nine with happiness,but everything ran smoothly to us, the guests. The servers were on top of replacing the food at cocktail hour, they were very attentive at the tables, and the bartenders and valets were great.The dj got everyone up dancing. And of course, just watching the bride and groom was such a pleasure!
My husband and I couldn't imagine being married anywhere else! We were enamored immediately upon entering the driveway and seeing the original barn from the 1700's, and that feeling only increased as we surveyed the beautiful mansion and grounds. Bill Graham was so cordial, accommodating, and helpful from the moment we met him- we walked out of our visit knowing this was the venue for us. We never wavered in that decision, Bill was willing to answer all and any questions we had, work with us to customize our cocktail hour (we had a sangria station and craft beer station in lieu of a martini station), and in conjunction with the staff, created an absolutely beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception! In addition to the beauty of the venue, the food was SO GOOD. We've heard from multiple guests that our cocktail hour was the best they've ever seen, and the rest of the food was incredible as well. Our Maitre D, Richard, and my bridal attendant, Anna, were a dream. Both ensured I had food before and during the ceremony, and Anna's fast bustling skills saved my bridal party a lot of stress!
We can't recommend Mayfair enough, and my husband and I are actively hoping we get invited to a wedding here as guests to really take advantage of all of the incredible food and space!
Our 3/25/17 afternoon wedding at Mayfair Farms was pure perfection! Working with Bill, Susan and team was seamless and stress-free! From booking the venue a year and half in advance, to last minute details, the staff was very attentive and helpful. We truly would not have had the same experience day of if we didn't choose Mayfair! Highly, highly recommend.

My day at the Mayfair farms was a wonderful one.
The Good:
- The rooms are large and the venue flows well. If you can, take up the whole venue. That way you can utilize the cocktail room, patio, each of the ballrooms and the multiple bridal suites. My husband and I didn't even come close to crossing paths before the first look. The cocktail room also has an old piano that still works, which a family friend played for us.
- The setting was just gorgeous. We got married mid-October and by luck the New Jersey foliage was in peak color. The sprawling grounds of the Mayfair were a bouquet of reds and golds. It made for an exquisite backdrop for our outdoor photos and the large windows in each ballroom provided ample views and light.
- My personal bridal attendant, Bertha, was incredible. Every time a hair moved out of place, she was there in a blink, fixing it. And even though I felt she was hovering (in a good way) all day, not ever a sliver of her showed up in any of our 1800+ pictures.
- The food was very good and the menu was extremely customizable. Though I didn't get to eat much, we heard great things from our guests. A cake from Palermos was part of the wedding package and we heard, over and over, it was one of the best cakes wedding cakes anyone had ever had.
- Everything was so taken care of. Starting at the rehearsal and onward, I didn't have to think about anything. It all just happened.
The Not so Good:
- There was some confusion about who our Matre d' was supposed to be and that caused some confusion.
- Our friend was doing the ceremony and she had never done anything like that before. She tried to ask the Matre d' questions during the rehearsal and he was rude to her about it.
- One table ended up with no favors, which was unfortunate.
- There was something that happened between the DJ, videographer and venue about the cake... Not sure what confusion was, but we ended up doing the cake cutting twice. The second time was captured on video and it's awkward and my husband and I looked confused, partly because the matre d' was yelling at us to just go along with it.
Overall, it was a wonderful day that exceeded our expectations. There were just a few awkward moments here and there which I think could have been alleviated if the Mayfair had communicated with us better.
The Mayfair is like an elegant wedding factory, but they are so good at there own jobs, we were unsure our spot on the assembly line!
We wish there were more stars that we could give to Mayfair Farms! The grounds, the food and the service were all so much more than we could have ever imagined. My husband and I were treated like royalty! Thanks to Mayfair, our wedding was a fairy tale! We would't change a thing! THANK YOU, MAYFAIR!!!!
Shalom and I just got back from our honeymoon and we could not let another day go by and not express our thanks and gratitude for making our wedding day such an amazing memory that we will forever remember.
Bill was amazing to deal with from the very first day we spoke until the day of the event. He was so willing to work with us and our budget to make our wedding day happen.
The staff at Mayfair was simply AMAZING! Every single staff member was so willing to help and make sure the bride and groom were happy with all the details. They constantly made sure we were both happy and well serviced. The Maitre D' was a pleasure to work with and followed the scheduled exactly the way it was written up and made sure my wife Shalom was happy.
The food and quality of the service was also amazing my friends and family would not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was. Everyone told us they loved the food, the people, and how comfortable they felt.
I would highly recommend Mayfair to all my friends for any event we wish to hold in the future.

I don't even know where to start: No one can stop talking about how fabulous our wedding was and I know that was in very large part to Bill, Rich, and the whole team at Mayfair Farms. Bill was always so helpful and open with the planning process which made what could've been a stressful thing so easy! They were able to customize the bar menu to have some of our favorite beers and spirits available to our guests and were very excited to help us make this a special day. Rich was a superstar the day of the wedding! We didn't have to worry about anything at all thanks to him and my bridal attendant. He made sure us, our bridal party, and our parents were well taken care of throughout the day and he was quick to respond to anything that could've been a problem.
Thank you Mayfair Farms for helping us put together and pull off the most memorable day of our lives that people will be talking about for years to come!
My husband and I got married on July 16th, 2016. Our reception was at Mayfair Farms. The venue could not be more perfect! We were over the moon with the way they treated us, bending over backwards for anything that we wanted. Additionally the price of the venue was so affordable for the amount of food and service that they give. My guest were constantly stating that our wedding was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. We had Richard as our maitre d, and he was the absolute BEST! Not only did he ensure that the room was perfect, exactly how we wanted it, he was also extra caring towards my husband and I. He has a wonderful personality, remembers everything and had things done before I even asked. There's no way my day would have been half as amazing without him. The food was also out of this world. Every item was delicious from the cocktail hour to the Viennese hour. The grounds are well kept and make for the perfect background for photos. The old world charm, farm to table food and excellent staff made choosing Mayfair Farms the easiest decision for us to make. I would definitely suggest Mayfair Farms to anyone who will listen, they made our special day so perfect we can't thank them enough!
There are not enough words to describe how happy we are that we chose Mayfair Farms for our wedding. When we began planning our wedding, we both had our priorities in what to search for. Both of us wanted an outdoor wedding, and the grounds at Mayfair are absolutely beautiful. We were supposed to have our ceremony out back at the gazeebo, but the night before our wedding, it rained. Instead, they put us out on the patio, which actually worked even better. So our preference for an outdoor ceremony was a smashing success! Going back to our priorities at the beginning of the planning process, my husband wanted a venue with good food. Of all the venues we visited, Mayfair was the only one that was confident enough to offer us a free tasting of the menu without having to first put down a deposit. And, boy, were they right!!! The chicken francese is amazing, as was the salmon (and I’m not a fish fan!!!). As for the appetizers, where to even begin (the pigs in a blanket are awesome!!!). So our preference for good food was, once again, another smashing success! Our guests were so happy with their dinners. Finally, there was the amazing service. Our maître d’ was Richard, and throughout the whole process, from start to finish, he was real cool, easy to work with, always available when we had a question. On the day of the wedding, he was nothing short of spectacular. In fact, during our cocktail hour, we were so busy taking photos with our bridal party, that he brought out hors d’oeuvres and literally hand fed us!!! And then there was our bridal attendant, Bertha, who was nothing short of spectacular as well. She was always there when we needed her, but never hovered. It was almost as she could read our minds. Both of them – Richard and Bertha – were so attuned to what we needed. We never had to say, “jump.” Instead, it was like they said, “we know you want us to jump, so you just tell us how high.” I really can’t overemphasize how important this amazing service was for us. Having a wedding can be really crazy, and they always made sure that we were able to enjoy our special day. If it wasn’t for the two of them, I don’t know what we would have done. They were simply indispensable. All in all, we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended!!!
My husband and I had our wedding at Mayfair Farms on March 19th, 2016. We started looking for venues in March 2015, and for the subsequent year Joanne was the most amazing wedding consultant. She responded to my emails in a timely manner, she gave me her honest opinions and advice in regards to my multitude of questions, and she made my husband and I feel cared for from the moment we booked them in March 2015. The price they quoted us was incredibly fair and they were a pleasure to work with.
Things could not have gone better the day of. We had Rich as our maitre'd, and he was legendary. We had so much fun with him and he made sure we were all taken care of as we got ready and had our pictures taken. He is such a gentleman and has a wonderful personality. We took pictures both inside and outside and the grounds and building were just beautiful. We had our ceremony in Mayfair Farms as well. I was a little nervous about how the mirrors would come out in pictures, but it provided a unique backdrop since I could see everyone no matter where I was standing during the ceremony. The cocktail hour was extraordinary. Family and friends thought the cocktail hour was the dinner; there was such a wide variety of delicious food to choose from. Rich and the waitstaff made sure my husband and I were taken care of by bringing us food and drinks throughout the cocktail hour.
The ballroom is beautiful and was plenty of space for our 175 guests. The dinner was spectacular. How many venues give you 4 options for dinner at an incredibly reasonable price?! People raved about dinner and ate everything even after stuffing themselves at the cocktail hour. From the moment we walked in in March 2015, until we got in the limo at the end of the night, Joanne, Rich, and the entire staff at Mayfair Farms took incredibly great care of us and I could not recommend them more for your wedding. Thank you Joanne and Rich!!

I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about Mayfair Farms. Our experience was truly amazing. We choose Mayfair after looking at over 50 venues. The atmosphere was so inviting with the fire place right upon entering, it felt like being welcomed into an old Victorian mansion. It had the perfect feel of what we were looking for on our New Year's Wedding.
My husband and I worked with Joanne S. who was absolutely fabulous. She worked with us (and my mother) to tailor everything from the menu to wine making sure that it was exactly what we wanted. She even had extra meetings with her staff to ensure that the night flowed perfectly. The staff at Mayfair is also exceptional. From the receptionist to our maître’ ds, Rich and Susan, to my bridal attendant Bertha, everyone was on top of their game and helped to make our wedding extra special. We wish we could do it all over again!

I cannot say enough good things about Mayfair Farms. They were wonderful to work with and made sure our night was beautiful. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I would recommend Mayfair Farms to anyone looking for a venue in the area!
When I look back on my wedding day (which was absolutely perfect), I know without a doubt it was the team at Mayfair Farms that ensured that perfection. Every step of the way, from first visit to the big night, they were incredibly attentive, patient, dedicated and pleasant to work with. We had the pleasure of working with Steve throughout the planning process and Richard was our maitre'd on the night. Both were ABSOLUTE PROS and made my life so much easier. Richard truly went above and beyond during the wedding to ensure our every need was tended to - often even before we thought of it! He anticipated when we wanted another drink, made sure we ate (he even made me a plate during the cocktail hour!) - and did the same for our parents. It also must be said that the value you get from Mayfair (the beautiful space, the size of it, the amazing food, etc) is impressive. My husband and I researched and / or visited 85 venues in NY / NJ before selecting Mayfair so we had a lot to compare against. I've been to a lot of weddings at some of these other (often more expensive) venues and been far less impressed than our special night at Mayfair. It also must be said the venue itself and the grounds are totally beautiful. I can't stop looking at our photos. We had the upstairs ballroom (and entire upstairs) and were lucky that there wasn't another even that night. I am sure if there had been, it wouldn't have been an issue - they are a well oiled machine! I know without a doubt the decision to have our wedding here was the most important and best that we made - I am grateful to the entire staff for doing all they did to make our wedding THE BEST day. I hope to attend another event at this beautiful venue soon.
We held our reception at Mayfair Farms on August 29th and I could not have picked a better venue and staff to work with. From the moment I walked in, I knew that this was the place to have the wedding of my dreams.They did such a wonderful job and were so accommodating to all of my requests. First of, the venue is breathtaking - it is not your typical NJ venue, full of marble, chandelier, which I LOVE - it is rustic, beautiful and elegant. They were a pleasure to work with from the beginning to the end, never wanting to force you into anything, and always made sure that the day was about what you wanted and not what they want to sell you. They ordered the special Brazilian liquor for my specialty drink, allowed me to have a traditional sweets table for Viennese that is part of every Brazilian wedding and even loved the idea! The venue itself very spacious, has BEAUTIFUL grounds and all the guests loved it, especially that cocktail hour was in a big room, and all guests had a place to sit down if they wanted to. They also raved about the food, martini bar, service and ambiance at cocktail hour and throughout the reception. Steve Meier was a pleasure to work with, as well as Richard, the Maitre D, and Jovan, my bridal attendant. They were so attentive to me and my husband during our day, making sure that we were all taken care of, that we always had a drink, or that we ate, had water, or if we needed anything at all. I dropped off some personal items for decorations the day before and they careful placed them were I requested, held them until I picked it up the next day, just lots of small things that went along way. I really wish I could go back and relieve the day, but until then I'll just hope to be lucky to attend an event at Mayfair Farms! Thank you Mayfair for hosting the wedding of my dreams. I could not have picked a better venue!!!
From the first moment I saw Mayfair Farms I knew I wanted to get married there! And after meeting with Stephen Meier and the rest of the staff we knew this was the place we wanted to have our wedding. Stephen was great to work with and always answered all of our questions in a timely manner. My husbands family is originally from Spain and Stephen was able to add in a specialty table during cocktail hour with some Spanish style cuisine. The grounds there are so beautiful and there are so many places/options to take some breath taking photographs. We were also able to to taste the food before booking, and the food was amazing! The Chef really knows what he is doing. They have plenty of chafing stations to choose from and we are still getting compliments about the venue and the food! They use Palermo's bakery for the wedding cake which was amazing and delicious. All the staff made us feel like family and worked together flawlessly. They were so attentive to our needs and made us feel like a King and Queen for a day. We can't thank everyone at Mayfair farms enough for making our dream wedding come true!
Mayfair Farms was EXCELLENT! My husband and I recently got married on Friday, June 26th and we had a wonderful experience with Mayfair Farms from the very beginning. We worked with Joanne and Steve during the booking and planning process and they are both truly lovely to work with. They are very accommodating, easy to work with, and very genuine. When working with Steve and Joanne, we never felt as if they were trying to "sell" us, we always felt as if they were very real with us and they explained all details thoroughly. We went to at least 10 venues before visiting Mayfair Farms, and as soon as we sat down with Joanne for our first appointment we immediately felt comfortable. Steve and Joanne show that they truly care about the success of your wedding day, not just on the day of, but during the entire planning process they go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your choices as you go. Another thing that we loved about Mayfair is that we felt as if we truly got the "full package" without ridiculous up-charges that many other venues try to sell you. We had a FULL cocktail hour (there was so much food!!), then a salad, appetizer, and four dinner options for our guests, and a FULL Venetian dessert display (there were so many yummy desserts!!) Our guests are still talking about how great the food was!
Secondly, our Matre D, Richard, was absolutely awesome. He was SO attentive to us, he was even feeding me (the bride) during the cocktail hour to make sure that I had the opportunity to try the different foods!! He also made sure that we sat down to eat our dinners. He even helped me take my heels off and put my wedding flip flops on! He was fabulous!! My husband and I cannot say enough great things about Mayfair Farms. We highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a classic, elegant wedding while still getting a ton of value.
We had our February 2015 wedding at Mayfair Farms and they did a wonderful job. Richard was incredibly patient and responsive, answering all our questions leading up to the big day. The grounds are lovely (even in the winter) and the food was delicious (people still talk about it). I highly recommend Mayfair. They'll go out of their way to make your day special.
We had our wedding reception at Mayfair Farms this April and everything went swimmingly! Our maitre d was always working to make us comfortable and keep things moving so we could get out on the dance floor! Our guests are still raving over the food and the service was spectacular!
We had a switch in coordinators a few months before the wedding which made me a little anxious but there was ZERO reason to worry! The crew at Mayfair Farms were all professional and went above and beyond for my husband and I and our families.
Wow! Mayfair farms was outstanding for our May 15 2015 wedding!!! A special thanks to Joanne and Susan!!!! Susan was outstanding she took care of my husband and I from start to finish she made sure we had food, drinks and that everything was going smoothly she truly made the wedding night flow so amazingly! Thank you Susan!!! The food is still being talked about by family and friends we wish we could relive this night just to enjoy the food this time!!!! My husband and I selected Mayfair as our wedding venue after a long search last summer. We were drawn to the history and charm of the building, and it was the perfect location for our reception! From the very beginning, Scott was amazing to work with. He answered every question we had and provided wonderful suggestions for dinner choices and even hotels for our guests. I had a great many photos and personal touches at the reception, and Mayfair made sure they were all in the right places and looked perfect! The food was wonderful, and our guests are still talking about it! We especially loved the Viennese room for dessert - highly recommend! During the reception, my bridal attendant and Scott made sure we had everything we needed and could just enjoy the night. The cocktail hour was also amazing, and they helped us select two signature drinks that our guests loved. Overall, we felt Mayfair was the perfect choice! We have incredible memories of our wedding that we will cherish for years to come!
Months ago my fiancé and I met with Scott and immediately felt so comfortable and welcomed by him and his entire staff. He was very personable and genuine. He gave us a tour of the venue and it was gorgeous! It was cozy yet elegant, we were also able to try the food, which was out of this world delicious! I was ready to book right then and there! Unfortunately, we couldn't book the venue because it was too far for our friends and relatives to travel to :-(
I just want to say thank you to Scott and the staff at Mayfair Farms, I have been recommending your venue to many people! (hopefully they'll invite me to their wedding so I can go back!)
We just had our wedding at Mayfair Farms, Oct 25. And everyone who attended says "it was the best wedding we ever went to". Everything was perfect, I wish it lasted longer. Richard put everything at ease and went out of the way to accommodate us. I wish they had night where they invited all the couples back for a fake wedding. We missed so much wonderful food and cocktails, but at least our guests enjoyed everything. Nothing but the best, from the host to the bartender to the wait staff. Five stars!!!!
The entire staff at Mayfair Farms is great and easy to work with. The day of you will have a bridal attendant and a maitre d' who will be there to help with anything you need (sometimes even before you need it!)
The menu is great, no hassle, no upcharges for things like a Viennese table, and the food is delicious! We had the Wellington Room and guests were out on the patio all night because the weather was nice (when they weren't inside dancing of course).
Mayfair Farms did an awesome job for our May 2014 Wedding! The food was amazing, the service was excellent and everyone we talked to said they had a blast! The food, space, and music play such a huge part in the overall experience and the people at Mayfair know what they are doing! It is reasonably priced for the area. I would highly recommend their venue to anyone considering having their wedding there.
Mayfair Farms will hold a special place in my heart and that of my husband's for as long as we both live. Joanne, Richard and all their staff made our wedding a beautiful, wonderful day. Joanne worked with us in every possible way. She took our many calls and responded to our many e-mails when we panicked and thought all was lost for certain. Richard personally saved me when I was feeling sick in my stomach with bitters and club soda. I felt sooo much better afterwards and was finally able to enjoy my own wedding for a little bit! The staff was so attentive and kind. And the food was amazing! All our guests told us how delicious the cocktail hour was and my husband and I can attest to the taste of our main course! The foilage during our October wedding was so beautiful and the grounds were just perfect. The pictures we have of that day could not have had a more storybook setting. I highly recommend Mayfair Farms for anyone who wants a wedding at a beautiful location where you will work with beautiful people. They will not disappoint you!
Mayfair Farms provided us with a beautiful, vintage background for our wedding. Their formal elegance was the perfect mixture of modern updates and classic embellishments. The food was savory; the drinks were abundant.
The staff was amazing, attending to our every need. Our maitre d' was professional and warm. She carried my train, gave us picture hints and even packed up our dinners--since we were so busy dancing!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Mayfair Farms on September 7, 2013. From the very first time we met our coordinator, Scott, we knew we were in good hands. The staff was always courteous, accommodating, patient, and helpful. They really wanted our day to be perfect and special - and it was. They helped us with all sorts of little personal touches, and were more than willing to go along with almost anything we had planned for the day. The grounds are beautiful and were perfect for pictures. There was more than enough space for our large crowd (200 ppl) and the room never felt overcrowded or stuffy. Our guests loved the cocktail hour, especially the martini bar, and other than my husband's meal (he didn't particularly care for the lamb he chose), the food was wonderful! The bartenders were quick with the drinks and our personal bridal attendant (Chevon) was fantastic. We had a fabulous wedding and would recommend Mayfair Farms to anyone.
Mayfair Farms did an amazing job from start to finish on my wedding reception. Our consultant, Joanne, was extremely detail-oriented and really "got" what we wanted. Our maitre'd, Richard, and his staff anticipated our every need- even needs we didn't know we had- at the reception. The room looked beautiful and all of the food was amazing.

From the moment I stepped into Mayfair Farms I fell in love with place. I wanted a venue that was spacious and had lots of natural light and we found this with Mayfair. Through the entire process the service was incredible. If I ever had questions or wanted to take a look again they were so accommodating and helpful. The day of the wedding Richard the maitre d was truly amazing. When we arrived to the reception after the ceremony he walked us up to the bridal suite which had champagne and hors d'oeuvres waiting. When we were taking pictures on the grounds he brought us more hors d'oeuvres and made sure we didn't need anything. He was always there and very attentive. He made sure we had a chance to eat our entrees and he was always there if we needed him. The Viennese hour was truly spectacular. The room was set up beautifully and Richard took us through to preview before he opened it up to everyone. The food was so good I kept wanting to eat more. All of our guests raved abut the food and dessert. I would highly recommend this venue. We truly had an amazing day and couldn't have asked for more.
I was amazed at how attentive and thorough the service was. Everything was done well and with extreme attention to detail. Anything that we might have forgotten to do was taken care of without us even asking. You can tell that this is their business and that they really know what they are doing. Let me start by saying 5 stars is not enough! Our wedding was October 20, 2012. I can not say enough good things about the owner, Jimmy Horn, the coordinator, Joanne Szibdat, or our maitre 'd, Richard! From the first time we went here, we were treated like family. Joanne and Jimmy coordinated everything wonderfully, from our personalized menu to the pricing. Our taste test was unbelieveable...a beautifully set table next to the fireplace with champagne, wine, appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts...enough to feed a table of 10! Our wedding day could not have been more perfect. Our maitre 'd RIchard was the best...I definitely did not go without eating at my own wedding as he fed me appetizers, potatoes from the potato bar, pasta, and filling my martini glass everytime it was empty! We left feeling like we were part of the Mayfair family and are so excited we have a wedding to attend there this weekend!
We had the garden wellington room and absolutely loved it! The room opens up onto a patio in the back. We had a beautiful day, so we had our cocktail hour set up outside with a grill station. We started the whole planning process with Jenny, but she had left for another opportunity. As a bride, I got a little nervous because she was SO GREAT! However, everyone at Mayfair is great. Richard was very helpful with taking over the planning process, and Barbara who was our Maitre D the night of was an absolute sweetheart. The receptionist who always answered the phone was an absolute sweetheart as well. The food was DELICIOUS! The ballroom was beautiful, and the grounds were beautiful. They were very accommodating when something came up. We visited many venues when we started planning and this definitely was the best choice!!!
We had our wedding here about 3 weeks ago with about 175 people in the main ballroom and everything was FANTASTIC. I don't have enough words to express how wonderful everything was. Richard was great and provided us with everything we needed before, during, and after the wedding. Our head waiter, Robert was also superb. Every time we turned back around he had gotten what we asked, whether it be part of the bridal party or a drink!
We didn't get to enjoy most of the cocktail hour since we were doing pictures, but the little we did get to have (shrimp, sushi, and lamb) was DELICIOUS, as was our main course, Chilean Sea Bass. This was soooo good! The maitre d made sure we ate and we were able to preview everything before hair. The Viennese hour was also delicious. Our cake was perfect, as were the cocktail infused coffees/cappuccinos, bananas foster, eclairs, etc. I loved the desserts!!!
The entire night we felt like royalty. The staff and service was wonderful!

Mayfair Farms did not disappoint. It is gorgeous, inside and out; the food is excellent; the staff is superb. We fell in love with it when we went to see it, and we were not disappointed on our wedding day. I have absolutely nothing to complain about.
Mayfair was amazing from the beginning planning stages all the way through the ceremony & reception. Joanne was incredibly patient with all my questions & was happy to help with my planning. Richard, our maitre de worked hard to keep everything running smoothly the day of. Everyone was raving about how beautiful everything was & how amazing the food tasted. We had attended a wedding there in 2010 & loved it which was one of the reasons we chose it. I would highly recommend Mayfair to have your wedding or any other event. They will do a great job with smiles on all of their faces.
I had an amazing experience planning my wedding with the staff at Mayfair Farms. They got everything right that my husband and I asked for... nothing with mushrooms (high allergy for one of our guests), and our favors/place settings were placed just right. From the day of our wedding till still today, we have had great reviews and stories from our guests. Our maitre de was very attentive and nice too. Also, for an April day time wedding, the price couldn't be beat! Many many thanks and recommendations for this beautiful wedding reception venue!
We were so pleased to have our wedding at Mayfair Farms under the direction of Ms. Joanne Szibdat. She makes this venue a great place to have a fantastic reception. We did not worry about anything because Joanne conducts her business with integrity, honesty, and professionalism. We went to many other wedding venues and we chose Mayfair Farms because it is elegant, classy, and spacious. Additionally, the food was delicious and there are beautiful grounds. The venetian hour was amazing and we received so many compliments on the food and bar service. It was truly a pleasure to work with her and I would recommend Mayfair Farms to anyone as long as Joanne is in charge!

Mayfair Farms made my wedding! I don't think anywhere else could have done such an amazing job. Richard was my maitre-d' and he went above and beyond my expectations. Every time I turned around he was there to pull out my chair, get me a drink or wipe the sweat off my face. He did everything! No one had to lift a finger the entire night. He made sure everyone was comfortable and happy. I can't believe how on top of everything he was. He made sure we had enough refreshments in the bridal suite and managed the timing of everything to perfection. No one was in need of anything the entire night. The scenery was beautiful, the food was amazing and the service was spectacular. Not to mention the affordable pricing for everything you are getting. Even at the end of the night my bridesmaid had wanted a centerpiece to take home, but when she turned around it was gone. Two minutes later Richard came out carrying the centerpiece he set aside for her so no one would take it. Look no further for the best venue in NJ!
I really can't say enough about my experience at Mayfair Farms. From beginning to end, the staff there was just amazing and the venue is so beautiful. Joann was so patient with us throughout the entire process and was always available to answer all of our questions. I also have to recognize the maitre d'. I was definitely stressed out the day of the wedding, like many brides are, and he made sure I was always where I was supposed to be. He even made sure my husband and I got to eat. I would absolutely recommend Mayfair Farms to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Northern/Central New Jersey.
I had Joanne as my contact and she was so easy to talk to and to get a hold of. Any questions we had she was always eager and willing to help.
The food was amazing; cocktail hour was over the top! You'll be shocked to find out all of the appetizers included in the package. Make sure you save room for the desert, wedding cake, pastries, chocolate fountain, banana foster, ice cream station, desert drinks - another hit with our guests!
There was no extra charge to have a wedding ceremony outside vs. inside and we didn't have to make a decision until the morning of the wedding. The grounds we're prestine, perfect for the ceremony & pictures. We had the smaller room downstairs (Wellington room) and it was perfect. We had a patio for our guests to get some fresh air and our OWN BATHROOMS; there was no sharing with another wedding party.
The staff was extremely nice and attentive. Anytime a guest got up from the table they would be there folding their napkin. They also brought drinks to the tables which lighted the crowd at the bar.
The maître-d made sure my husband and I had time to sit down and eat uninterrupted and eat our dinners and take in and appreciate our wedding day.
The only negative had nothing do to with Mayfair but their other restaurant Pals Cabin (same owners I think). We had our rehearsal dinner there since you get a bit of a discount if you are having your wedding at Mayfair but the service was not acceptable. Our party of ~25 people had only one waiter who was also the bartender. We paid for open bar but no one was behind the bar, at one point we started making our own drinks. We were rushed through dinner so fast that we paid for 4 hours we we're done eating within the first hour and a half (apps, salad, dinner & desert). Then the waiter was gone we had to go find him several times. My only suggestion, do not have your rehearsal dinner at PALS CABIN regardless of the discount.
We have received many complements on Mayfair from our guests. The food and service, nothing but the best! I would recommend Mayfair Farms to everyone!

Joanne was incredibly nice and helpful - and easy to contact via email, since I was planning my wedding from Boston. Richard was the Maitre d' and he was superb - the night was seamless. Mayfair worked closely with my DJ the night of the event, so they were always in sync.
They include in the price of the evening an amazing Viennese ROOM -- full of desserts -- which was an add-on at many of the other places I looked at. My guests were very impressed. Also, we took our pictures outside in the garden, and they brought us hors d'oeuvres and drinks out there. The week of the wedding I dropped off napkins, centerpieces, etc. and they were more than happy to set that all up the day of the wedding. They even tried to accommodate my husband's wish list for beers.
Other pluses:
-an amazing cocktail hour with tons of delicious food and lots of options for us to choose from
-great food quality in general
-A bridal suite with private bathroom where we could go to freshen up and bustle my dress
-They just re-did the carpet and wallpaper in the main ballroom upstairs so it looks gorgeous.
Negatives: Truly, it's hard for me to come up with one. I guess the one thing I would mention is that I didn't feel like they tracked me down to let me know the things I needed to get done- and when I needed to get them done by. Fortunately, I was on top of that stuff so it worked out fine. (Maybe they picked up on that?)
I would absolutely recommend Mayfair. We heard what the price would include before we heard the price, and I was bracing myself -- it was SO reasonable, especially compared to other banquet halls that I looked at in the area.
We loved our wedding venue. The food was spectacular - they were flexible with changes to their original menu. We are still hearing how great the food was! The space was big and the atmosphere welcoming. Unfortunately it rained and we couldn't take advantage of the outdoor grounds, which are beautiful, but our pictures came out spectacular anyway indoors. the staff was helpful, especially Ivan, but we didn't care for Richard the MD too much. All in all they were great and open to any of our ideas along the way!
Sam was our manager and Jenni was our maitr'd. They are amazing people and they made our wedding reception incredible. Sam is the most caring manager out there and he made sure we were happy with what we were getting. We had a food tasting, the reception hall also offered the cake from Palermo Bakery which was delicious & beautiful, and we got a great deal on the amount of food - also international food!, Viennese table for desserts, and open bar. Our wedding was very late but everyone was very energetic and helpful. Our guests LOVED the reception site which also offered a garden in the back and provided a beautiful place for our wedding photos. The food was phenomenal! Everyone was stuffed at our cocktail and we had buffet for dinner! Jenni, the maitr'd made my guests, my mom and I feel so comfortable! She made sure all our accommodations were met and she went beyond our expectations in providing comfort and care to the wedding guests. She took care of my mom, as if was a very emotional day for her, and also made sure I was well too by making sure we ate and had fun! Our wedding could not have been more beautiful if it weren't for Mayfair Farms.
From the first time we met with Mayfair Farms we knew this was the perfect place for our wedding. Working with Sam, the GM made us feel at ease. We were confident and had no worries the day of our wedding. Having a nephew with a severe food allergy, they made sure that his safety was of the utmost concern. Rich our Maitre D never missed a beat. He was on top of everything and our wedding ran as smooth as can be. Our guests were so impressed by the venue and the services provided. From the cocktail hour to reception dinner the food was to perfection. Mayfair Farms provided everything we wanted and more the day of our wedding and are highly recommended. Our family and friends said that this was by far the best wedding venue they have been to in a long time.

Though I took 2 years to plan our wedding, our main priority was the venue. We wanted somewhere that reflected us and not some "cookie cutter" venue. We found it at Mayfair Farms. As soon as I walked in I knew that this was the place we were going to be married. It felt as if you were walking into a home rather than a reception space. It was warm and inviting. As if the space itself wasn't great enough, the staff was even better. They all are so friendly and ready to work with you. The manager Sam, is a dream and a great guy to do business with. He helped us personalize the space right down to the menu. Our maitre' d Richard went above and beyond to see that everything was taken care of the day of the wedding. He knew I was a hands-on Bride, but he took over and made sure I worried about nothing that day. He set up our ceremony space in such a way that it took my breath away.
Now to the best part, the food! From the cocktail hour to the viennese hour, everything was delicious! Our guests are still talking about the food! Plus the abundance of it was unreal. There was never an empty tray, chafing dish, or display. Dinner service was impeccable and went like clock-work.
Overall, it doesn't matter how well or how long you plan a wedding. If you don't have the service and the help from the venue, it will never be what you imagined. Mayfair Farms went above and beyond for our wedding and I would highly recommend them to any Bride.
couldn't of asked for anything better!if there was a problem, they fixed it on the spot. my now husband asked for a particular beer for the day and as we walked out of the limo, a glass of champagne for me and the special beer for him. they make and everysingle guest there feel special and #1. i would highly reccomend them to anyone. well worth the money.
From decor and price to food and service everything here was great. Our consultant, Mike, was the best. He helped realize our vision of a cocktail party and made everything easy. We had a wedding of 250+ people and everyone loved our venue. The food was fabulous and the variety was unreal. There was something for everyone and they were able to accomodate special diets. They staff was nice and felt myself and my husband feel like a king and a queen. Our guest said they would love to go to another wedding at Mayfair! We LOVE Mayfair!!!
Everything was so great, unbelievable actually! A month from the wedding and people are still raving about the food and venue. I took away a star however because the staff destroyed my vases and threw away all the lights (things the florist is now making me pay for). Just forwarning to have this arranged before the night!
Everything was perfect and the food was excellent!! Everyone was so helpful and nice and they did everything I wanted them to do. The room looked so beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better reception hall. They met my expectations above and beyond!
We loved Mayfair. We had our pictures outside and they were gorgeous. We also got an amazing deal per person. My only real complaint was that we were promised much food for the bridal suite the day of the wedding and mostly only had fruit, cheese, and crackers. When one of the ushers told the banquet manager he was on his way to get us pizza, he freaked and finally got us some sesame chicken...not the best food for girls already in bridesmaid dresses, but at least it seemed like lunch.
Great food (my guests are still raving about the chilean sea bass), great service, beautiful grounds.
We got married in the back garden, which was green and beautiful, and is great because you don't see the parking lot, like so many other venues. The bridal room they have was spacious and they generously provided us with drinks, fruit and cheese as we were getting ready.
We had the Garden/Wellington room in the back, lower level, which is great because we moved seamlessly from the ceremony to the cocktail hour (half inside, half outside). And the food just kept flowing! The dinner was fabulous and the dessert hour was elaborate and heavenly!
Richard, our maitre'd, was invaluable. He was our right hand man the whole day. He made sure we were running on time, got us to wherever we were supposed to be, and made sure we ate (so important and so easy to forget to do!).
What was great about Mayfair is that they don't nickel and dime you (like other venues tend to do). Everything was included (all cocktail hour stations, passed hors doevres, 4 entree selections, wedding cake, and elaborate dessert hour) and the price per head was extremely reasonable.
Mike was our coordinator from day one up until the big day. He was extremely accomodating and a great guy to work with.
All in all, Mayfair is a wonderful place for both a ceremony + reception. They will treat you like royalty from beginning to end.
I cannot say enough about this place. The attention that we received from the moment we toured the venue through until our wedding day was wonderful(the staff answered all of our questions, offered everyting that way wanted within the correct price range, etc). The food, service and cost of this place cannot be beat. It was excellent and would highly recommend this place to anyone!
