Where do I even begin?! Being a 2020 bride hasn't been the easiest, but The Art Factory and their amazing staff exceeded my expectations and beyond. With a staff changeover weeks before our wedding you think I would panic, but quite the opposit...
e. Amy and Ed stepped in like I knew them and had been working with them for the past year. They were aware of every detail we wanted and executed every request to perfection. Ed and Amy took on all of my visions and made them a reality. They custom built bar decor, arranged our room set up, coordinated their awesome teams, and paid attention to every detail. Lisa impeccably decorated the venue space beyond words. Without even meeting her I walked into the venue day of and was speechless. She even worked through the night and stayed into the day to make sure everything was PERFECT! I mean come on, how awesome is that?! And with the slightest hiccup of a bar set up…it was fixed, in I kid you not, under 2 minutes. I couldn’t even believe it! I was BEYOND IMPRESSED so much so it made me smile and brought me such joy on my special day to know that I was in such good hands. The sense of relief that this team had everything under control is an understatement. Such a weight off our shoulders. The space is so large every single one of our guests felt so comfortable and spaced out. Our guests can not stop raving about their experience. We used Ultimate Caterers for the food, WOW, highly recommended they crushed the food scene. Gallos Wine Cellar provided alcohol with custom bar set up, cocktails, ice, and selection with consignment was without a doubt the only way to go. Any future bride looking for a venue for the “new norm” this is it. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you for making this “covid bride” feel so special and turning our dream into a reality that again, exceeded all expectations beyond PERFECTION.

ding would be able to happen, and once restrictions were lifted in NJ, and I was able to keep my original date the expectations became different for my special day. I just wanted this day to happen. I did not stress about little details like what color the church flowers would be or what kind of jewelry my bridesmaids would wear. I just wanted to get married to amazing husband and begin the rest of our life. I wanted to have fun, good food, and good drinks! The Art Factory took my breathe away in every aspect. I had to come on and write a review somewhere, fast so I can poor my heart out! Amy coordinated everything, along with Ed and other staff members of Richfield Regency Catering (who I will also review after my honeymoon), and they made my day what it was. My truest, closest friends continued to compliment the venue to me throughout the night. The Art Factory did everything they promised, plus more. I am still in bliss 24 hours later. Amy even made sure my husband’s elderly grandparents were personally escorted from room to room, ahead of time so they did not have to slow people down, and to be able to keep their distance. The Art Factory also made sure that everyone was safe with masks, and social distanced, and people stayed within their own family “bubbles.” Everything worked out great and they went above and beyond for us in every big and small way. My wedding was the most special day of my life! They deserve every star I gave them, and this is the place to have your wedding. Thank you Art Factory, from Mr. and Mrs. Haszko!

Although we have not met the design team yet, (because we know that there are so many weddings prior to ours in 2022), Amy acknowledged our vision in the design app right away and we are so excited to meet her and the rest of the design crew when our time comes! We have not stopped talking about the Art Factory ever since we booked our wedding and cannot wait for our guests to see our vision come true and get to experience the magic of this venue on our big day.

mony instead. We were married this past Friday. The experience was magical, and exceeded our expectations for our intimate ceremony. Dave and the Art Factory family (Maritza, Noel, Sara and Jhenelle), were graciously accommodating and committed to making this initial experience just as special. They blew it out of the park. We initially booked the Art Factory in April 2019, after stumbling upon its beauty. My husband, also a photographer, scheduled a shoot there and I happened to drop off some of his equipment. The industrial chic vibe was so us, and the set-up of the ceremony space was whimsical. The incorporation of antiques, floral walls, lanterns, and sheer curtains created a stunning, yet eclectic vibe that we were unable to find at any other venue. Since booking, the Art Factory has gone through many iterations. But upon each visit, its beauty and offerings are always enhanced. Their current team is stellar. They’re responsive via Basecamp, have been reassuring through the uncertainties of the pandemic, have an exceptional eye for detail and are true thought partners in the crafting of your special event. Maritza also did my florals—and perfectly executed the tropical chic look I desired! Ultimately, our guests loved the experience—the décor, the ambiance, the space (the outdoor patio and lawn is gorgeous!) and are eager to return next year for what will be an even more magical time. We have so much love for the Art Factory.

iew and place deposit, after no response from the event coordinator, we email David the owner directly and he informs us he already sold that date and room over a week in advance. His reasoning was he did not post it yet. What type of venue keeps touring and promising available dates to customers for over a week without having their calendar up to date? Then instead of apologizing and providing explanation to how this happened, his response was to call us entitled for believing we would have been able to finalize and secure our deposit the next business day after our tour. Please take the time to read their poor reviews because exactly what we experienced just trying to get a contract and finalize a deposit is what some couples saw first hand on their special day. This place is not run by professionals in the industry, they do not communicate with their current or potential customers in a timely or professional manner. Event planners promise one thing and the owner does his own thing without communicating updates with his team. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a professional stress free experience from prospect to sale to event execution.

ith our decision to postpone to 2021. I am seeing nightmares of other brides being put through the wringer during this stressful time. Having to postpone is stressful enough and this team could not have been more helpful. Beware of older negative reviews. The Art Factory has completely revamped their business. There is now a dedicated wedding planning/design team and you hire an outside professional caterer (they give you a list of preferred vendors that are accustomed to serving in AF). The space is SO cool and different. Clearly their unconventional view on weddings means you're not going to get upcharged or taken advantage of like the big wedding factories of NJ. Excited for our 2021 wedding, will update this review after then!

d out some kinks but we work through all of those details and we were so excited to get married on 3/21 and see David, Noel and Team create the wedding of our dreams. Alan and Ed, at Ultimate Catering have been equally wonderful and were the last piece to create the perfect venue experience. Unfortunately, we are one of those couples that had to reschedule their wedding (3/21) due to the Corona virus. David was quick to provide dates and help us rebook our wedding. When looking for a wedding venue, my husband and I wanted something that we could design from start to finish. We did not want to fall in line with the cookie cutter venue or reception style and were NOT a ballroom couple. Typically, your next ...
option is a barn... But we aren't exactly that couple either. We came across the Art Factory and fell in love with the rich history of the space, the industrial look, the uniqueness that came with it all and most importantly, the flexibility to design the wedding of our dreams. Dumbwaiter elevator? Exposed brick? Outdoor deck and greenery? Did someone say Edison bulbs? Everything we every wanted out of a wedding venue was there for us at the Art Factory. I highly recommend this wedding venue if you are looking to be unique, out of the box and if you are destined to be an event planner (like myself). I will say - it takes a lot of work, attention to detail, planning and creativity from you as a couple. You must be willing to put in the work on this one to get the best result. We made the decision to hire a florist, caterer, photographer/videographer, day of coordinator, bar staff, etc. to bring our full vision to life. It takes a full staff (an army if you will) to pull off a huge DIY wedding like this, but in the end it was all very worth it !! The night was unforgettable and left our guests complimenting the "wedding of the year." THANK YOU ART FACTORY STAFF - especially Maritza who helped coordinate the on site staff to make the day a breeze with our vendors.

ganization and "flow" of the wedding, but also in the many original designs they were able to bring to life to make the celebration "ours." A drab hallway was re-purposed into an interesting and mood-setting corridor in just one of many examples of their wizardry. They also worked with us on all the individual designs and elements we wanted to add ourselves. The art factory setting is one-of-a-kind; an industrial chic twinkle-light paradise that will stun your guests. The wonderful different spaces allow for so many different arrangements and activities - around 2am we had people karaoke-ing in one room, dancing in another, and just hanging and talking in a third. Everything went to plan, or better, and we can't recommend this venue enough for a fun and unforgettable wedding. Most importantly, the wedding felt like us - the opposite of a cookie-cutter or generic wedding - and our guests felt that too. We had literally the best day of our lives with The Art Factory!!!! I will mention that there were some hiccups during the planning process....We booked in Nov 2018, and we knew going in that it was a newer venue, so we might experience grow...
ing pains. We were okay with that, because not only did we adore the space, but we also really loved the owners and staff that we met. We actually never even looked at another venue. We saw the place, met the staff, fell in love with it and cancelled all of our other appts immediately. We started reading some rough reviews late summer of 2019 and did freak out a bit. We reached out to a bunch of previous brides - who were so incredibly sweet and helpful - & also spoke to a couple of day of coordinators who were familiar with the venue. As the reviews were popping up, though, it really felt as though The Art Factory took these things to heart and made every effort to learn & improve their team. We lost their in-house catering 6 weeks out, but it turned out that AF made the best decision ever to replace their in-house caterers with 3 extremely experienced caterers who would honor the original price we were quoted. It seemed as though the vast amount of complaints were food service related. We used Frungillos, and it was the best wedding food we've ever eaten. Bar none. They also hired a few wedding planners who are so sweet and kind, and genuinely care about the couples they work with. The difference between when we booked in 2018 and when our wedding was held in Dec 2019 is like night and day!!! This venue is so breathtakingly beautiful and unique, and both Noel and Maritza are incredible, artistic, and so dedicated to making sure you have the day of your dreams . I cannot tell you how many guests told us that this was the coolest wedding venue they've ever been to, and also the best food they've ever eaten! It's been over a month, and we are still getting compliments about The Art Factory! This venue is not for the cookie-cutter couple, but that is what makes it so special and unique. I do think it's better for a bride that has a bit of a diy in them, that's a "planner" and has a detail-oriented type personality, because I found that I did need to be pro-active in reaching out and nailing down details, but if you are on top of your schedule and plans leading up to the day, they are always so excited to hear your ideas and help you execute your vision! Our day was perfect from start to finish, we wouldn't change a thing. In fact, we wish we could go back and do it all over again!!! I truly believe they will only continue to become more amazing as they perfect their process. Thank you to Noel, Maritza, David, Donata, and everyone who made this day so special for us!!!!

We booked our wedding date early 2019 when we were told The Art Factory will make our dreams come true. Fast forward to the summer we started reading some negative comments about AFS and started to get worried. I mean, really effin worried, we ...
thought what did we get ourselves into! We decided to give it a few weeks and see what happens. I then started contacting previous brides to see how their experience was. I had received mostly great feedback but some negative as well. I was told that a new person took over their creative decor and to trust her. When meeting Noel I still felt hesitant only because I thought how does one person who handles 3-6+ weddings a weekend really pay attention to yours individually. Well, Noel, was beyond what we expected. She literally made everything happen for us, including a moon backdrop we asked for. She’s was so attentive, so involved, creative and everything you could ask for in a wedding coordinator. This bright young lady is going places. She will be beyond successful because of the passion she puts into her work. We did hit some bumps leading to our wedding date; their in house chef, Jon, quit only 8 weeks before our wedding. We slightly went into a panic but were able to get the greatest caterers to come in and did a fantastic job. The day of the our wedding I would say everything went as planned. Noel, Maritza, JheNelle, and the entire Art Factory staff did just an outstanding job with our decor and carrying out our most memorable night. We are beyond happy with booking our wedding at the Art Factory. They have come a long way and are only getting better. They have the right members now that WANT to make your day the best day of your life. Our guests were beyond impressed with our wedding venue and our caterer Culinary Creations. It truly was the greatest night of our lives.

didn’t have the staff or the means to service the overwhelming amount of weddings they were booking. I think they need to be more honest and realistic with their clients. I would have completely pulled the plug on the venue if it wasn’t for Noel and the fact my invitations were already printed. She went to Ikea the morning of my wedding to buy over 200 candles to put in the rented hurricane glass because she was nervous the order she placed wouldn’t arrive on time. She kept it real with us and coordinated with my hired wedding coordinator during the weeks leading up to the wedding and the day of. I really can’t praise Noel enough; if we dealt with her from the jump, I undoubtedly would have minimal complaints. If you’re going to book: deal with the owners as little as possible, make Noel aware of your design aesthetic EARLY, and hire all outside vendors and your wedding will be a dream.

ve been part of the Art Factory (AF) for over a year, and have honestly seen the quality of their weddings & events improve and skyrocket over the last few months. You'll read reviews that talk about the in-house caterers leaving, Chef Jonathan was awesome, but take this as a blessing in disguise. You now have multiple catering options to choose from, will definitely find exactly what you want, and will be taken care of by an entire team of true professionals. Quick shoutout to Ultimate Caterers, who brought our never-ending Cocktail Party to life. Alan & Ed were absolutely incredible every step of the way, and all the guests had great things to say about the food, style & the service! Some of the other reviews will call out lack of communication by the AF, but that is also something that we saw improve over time. We think they just got so popular as a venue, and were a bit short-staffed at times to keep up with the crazy demand. But, they've hired a ton of new people, to have more hands-on help during the planning & day/week of the event. Noel, Maritza & Sarah worked with our day-of coordinator to go through everything with a fine-tooth comb and made sure every detail was taken care of. All in all, we had the best day of our lives! We aren't kidding when we say every single guest had the most amazing things to say about the venue, the decor (florists crushed it!), and the dance-floor was packed for 4+ hrs straight. The space was absolutely incredible! Our pictures look straight out of a vintage wedding catalogue, with the incredible looking backdrops they have all around the building. Best advice we can give any prospective couples: 1) IF YOU WANT A TURN-KEY WEDDING, STOP READING HERE. - You will 100% need to devote time & effort to make a wedding like this happen. Hours with the florists, caterers, Art Factory design folks, and all the other hired vendors. Ultimately, it means you get the wedding you've always dreamed of - and not the cookie-cutter ballroom you've seen a hundred times. 2) Keep everything organized, make a checklist of everything you want - so it's easy to communicate and keep track of. 3) It's probably not 100% necessary, but we highly recommend hiring your own day-of coordinator to work with the AF team. It takes a lot of the onus off you & your friends/family. It also helped us make sure that the day of everyone was on the same page. Every detail was taken care of. 4) Don't be too alarmed if you feel like you aren't getting 110% of everyone's attention up until about 2 weeks before your actual wedding. The truth is, that's all the time they need to make sure everything is taken care of and set up properly. And they have anywhere from 2-4 weddings every single other weekend, that require their attention. 5) Put everything in Basecamp, their project management platform, and use text messages to communicate. 6) The combination of Jardiniere Fine Flowers & Ultimate Caterers was perfect! All the table settings, and food & floral arrangements went so well together. People were gushing about it all night!

Our experience at Art Factory (AF) was a very mixed bag. We liked that it was atypical, interesting, fairly cheap, involved customization, and included everything in one price. We were also impressed by the charm and passion of the owner David...
. In the end, we did have a beautiful wedding but there were many issues along the way. The all-inclusive price covered: venue, transportation, parking, security, day of assistance, all decor, all lighting, food, tableware, chairs, setup, cleanup, service of food and alcohol, music setup, and all taxes/fees/gratuity (i.e. no extra charges for that). Our biggest problems were with communication and consistency. The staff overall is AWFUL about communicating. It was very difficult to arrange tastings, talk about our decor with the right people, and get CONSISTENT answers about what AF could and could not do. David seems to mean well, but he over-promises the details and only really is in charge of the big picture. One big suggestion for future brides: IF YOU WORK WITH AF, GET EVERY SINGLE THING YOU ARE PROMISED IN WRITING. We were promised lots of customizations, personal attention, and a truly unique wedding experience. In reality, we got a nice wedding that was very similar to their other weddings and we had to repeatedly ask for details and confirmations about every single thing we wanted. The day of the wedding had many hiccups. Our wedding was set up was more or less correctly, though I had to personally keep checking on everything to make adjustments. I was able to catch a lot of things, such as misnumbering the tables. But some things -- no lights wrapped around the poles as requested, the incorrect number of place settings at tables, the terrible and incomplete handwriting on the seating chart they had made while we took photos -- were not fixed by AF. As for the food, we were DELIGHTED with the quality. It was all delicious, delivered warmly, we had enough of, and was liked by everyone. Chef Jonathan even made special meals for someone with a food intolerance (not discussed beforehand) and for vegetarians (cleared beforehand). However, the worst part of the night was that they messed up the food timing. We were supposed to have tapas from 4:30-8:30 and then dessert around 9. This was in writing. Instead, they served tapas from about 4:15-7 and then almost immediately brought out dessert after. I was very upset but it was too late to do anything. A few other notes: we had no issues with storing our supplies and alcohol safely. The service of all the food was good. Just about all the promised tables, chairs, silverware, and decor were eventually set up, with some prodding by us. We were able to take pictures throughout the venue before the wedding and were very happy with how they turned out. The trolleys worked nicely, although the A/C was not very strong. Overall, the AF is a beautiful space with passionate people working there, trying hard to create something new and fresh and custom and different. However, they lack things -- communication skills, experience, attention to detail, ability to hold on to staff members, consistency -- to make that truly happen to the standard of most brides. I was overall fairly happy with how my wedding turned out, but it involved so much stress and effort on my part, when the whole point of using AF was that everything would be done by one vendor, seamlessly and easily and customized. as one of the first weddings to book since they started up again and everything came together perfectly that day. My guests loved the experience and were in awe of each room and the decor - the best part of AF. It’s truly a visual wonder. That’s what we had in mind for our wedding - unique, industrial, customizable, and just special, which makes it all worth it. Yes, things always go wrong on all wedding days, at every single existing venue, everywhere - but there are just things AF can accomplish that classic, in the lines, typical wedding venues can’t - for example, the dancing kept going on wedding night! A typical venue would have stopped it + ended the wedding. Dave let the magic continue! Grateful for that type of flexibility and fun. He also came through with promises - even bathrooms still had to be built (ah!), and THEY WERE! I had all their attention the week of the wedding and it was the most productive - and also hired my own day of coordinator which was so helpful. Currently the space looks great and their new developments for weddings - so cool. Can’t wait to go back in the future - AF truly has my heart.

ere are many pros that Art Factory has compared to other venues: 1. We had a hard time finding a unique venue that allowed outside catering. We needed a kosher caterer and AF had no problem allowing outside catering. You’d be surprised just how many venues do not allow it at all because their in-house caterer “provides kosher meals” which are essentially fancy pre-made meals. No thanks. 2. No time limits meant we had access to the bridal suite as early as we needed where I know other venues don’t let you in before a certain time. You can also have your after party there without getting kicked out. 3. They provide a lot of decor and can make you things. They built me a champagne wall I saw on Pinterest and made a tunnel of lights. There are, however, many things that concerned my husband and I throughout the planning process. When we booked our date, every weekend in September was open. In January 2019, they became quite popular and I had asked if there was another wedding on our date. Turns out someone else did book the same date and I’m sure if I didn’t ask, we would have never been told. About 3 months before our wedding, Donata (the owner’s wife - head of decor) called me and put me on speaker with the other bride on our date (it was awkward). Turns out they promised her the ceremony room we had reserved and clearly she was upset. Luckily we had put this room in our contract. We tried to come to a compromise to time it so there would be no overlap. It literally took A MONTH of back and forth. This caused us a great deal of stress and so much frustration that we decided it wasn’t our problem so we choose not to compromise and refer to the contract. Our coordinator, Justin, left. No one communicated this to us. I found out from other brides. All the notes he had taken at our 2 decor meetings? Gone. He was replaced by Noel who did a great job helping out day of, but it was beyond frustrating to go over the details AGAIN. They are extremely difficult to communicate with. They use an app called basecamp to communicate with the brides. Sometimes I would get answers quickly, other times no one answered. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to get the answers you need so then you can coordinate with your other vendors. In the end, we’re so grateful we hired our own day of coordinator. Our wedding day was wonderful and of course a few things went wrong but nothing major. Our biggest gripe is they did not decorate the tables. AT ALL. All the candles and geometric tea lights they have that we requested? Never put out. Good thing I brought some of my own decor and we had a florist do some flower arrangements. We’re happy we went with AF because their unique venue reflected our style and vibe, but it came with many frustrations. This venue has so much potential. I think if they were more organized and had set check-in meetings (1 year out, 6 months out, 2 months out, 3 weeks out) the brides would have a much happier experience and the venue wouldn’t seem “annoyed” to have the same conversation about over and over. I have to give 3 stars just to reflect our extreme frustration at many points throughout the planning process (which is stressful enough), even though it all turned out fine.

Edited to fit. Full review on Wedding Wire! Everything came together beautifully, but it was a journey to get there. August wedding with 150 guests. Good: Everything that was promised happened! Over the months, we met with Justin a few times ...
to iron out general decor and ideas we had for our wedding. They incorporated Harry P elements we requested, from hanging candles at the altar to ‘flying keys’ over our sweetheart table! AF was extremely flexible with our outside vendors. They met with each vendor any time we requested it and always provided helpful information. People loved our food (New Orleans family style) which was served promptly and mostly hot (cold for my dad). Noel et al. made everything work perfectly the day of! The servers were extremely attentive. Our guests had a blast! It was incredibly special to be able to hang out til 3 am, listening to music, eating the leftover desserts and late night munchies with just a few close friends and family. At AF’s request, we changed our reception room to the Linen a mere 6 weeks before our date. We were extremely nervous about the room, which wasn’t finished at that time. When we met with Donata, she professionally laid out their ideas based upon our previous conversations, listened to our needs, and helped us picture the room’s potential. The room was breathtaking and they pulled off ALL of our ideas combined with Donata’s vision! We couldn’t have been happier. Not-so-good: 3 signs were missing that were confirmed the week before the wedding: 1) ‘In lieu of favors..’ sign. This sign was supposed to be our way of recognizing the groom’s mother, who had passed away a year prior. We made a donation in her memory instd of favors, but no one knew! 2) Cocktail signs We put a good amount of thought into choosing and naming to keep with our theme. Most of the guests didn’t even know about the specialty cocktails! 3) I made a sign for the parking lot, but it was never put up. HOWEVER, these were items that guests wouldn’t know were missing. Everything else we asked for was met. Over the year, all of our issues and stress came down to communication. We are supposed to communicate on this app called Basecamp, but only a handful used it in an efficient and timely manner. I get that there is a lot to juggle with the dozens of events and shootings that occur in the enormous space, but, as professionals, you must set aside time to coordinate with each other, check your messages, and respond to clients. I didn’t expect anyone to respond over the weekends, since that’s their busy time, but I think a full work week is a reasonable time frame. I work 5 jobs and frankly didn’t have time to be chasing them down to get answers to my questions, yet there I was asking my questions over and over again. If someone is asking questions about topics too far in advance, just say so! Silence is worse than being told to wait on something. Whenever I was there, they were kind, reassuring, and helpful. But then the silence and lack of confirmation to our conversations afterwards was panic inducing. I truly wish them the best. They did come through, but the planning was certainly soured by the comm. stress. I hope that they are able to hire a few more professionals to get them on track. It is an incredible space and Donata is a visionary. We keep saying that we had the best wedding ever and a huge part of it was this beautiful venue and the creative ability of the team! Thank you for everything!

When we walked into the Art Factory in the summer of 2018, our first impression was that it was an amazing, magical and unique place. At that point, their business as a wedding venue had just really started taking off, there was no Mercado (pop...
up shops) and it was truly just a raw space. We knew immediately that it was perfect. We chose our date and booked it. Over the year leading up to our wedding, we did visit often. We met with different staff each time and went over our decor choices often. What I will say is that communication was not great..until it was closer to out wedding date (understandably so). On the day of the wedding, nothing was ready at 8 am when we arrived. I did not expect it to be, as they had 2 huge weddings the night before. BUT when it was time for guests to arrive, everything looked beautiful. Now to give you some context of the type of bride I was.. I was not extremely picky about details, I was realisitic in my expectations, we had less than 100 guests and we used an amazing outside caterer (Richfield Regency) and a day of coordinator. Anyway, as I said the venue looked gorgeous and most of the items I wanted had been set up perfectly. Noel and Maritza were great about checking in and asking questions. Dave, the owner, even ran out for ice when he found out we didn't have any in our bridal suite. Now what I will say is that the next day I realized many of my furniture choices had been swapped out and the centerpieces I had asked for weren't there (vintage items and books). But I DID NOT EVEN NOTICE because it looked fantastic. Our day was incredible, unique, memorable and magical and truly it is because we put our faith in the Art Factory and they came through. Dave, Donata and their team truly have something amazing happeneing there and even if you aren't planning a wedding, pop in because it is breathtaking.

Before I jump in, just some context: -95 person wedding in April 2019 -Only wedding that day -Booked a year in advance -Did the catering through them (tapas style) -The two wedding coordinators were hired a few months after we booked -It was p...
retty much exactly how we imagined it to be and the greatest day of our lives If we had to do it again, we would still get married at the Art Factory. I'm not going to lie and say every single detail was absolutely perfect, but the ones that mattered definitely were. When we first visited The Art Factory, we primarily spoke with David and Donata and I can second all the reviews that say they pretty much communicate a "whatever you want, we'll do" approach. My husband and I are VERY laid back and didn't have any major requests in terms of decor (we did not request that certain things be ordered or created for us - our requests mostly consisted of things like furniture placement and in-house decorations for the tables.) Communication was for the most part seamless but there were a couple of times I had to follow up if I didn't hear a response right away (but I always heard back). A few months after we booked, we were really happy to hear that they hired wedding coordinators and our interactions with the wedding coordinators were always positive and productive. Based on other reviews, it seems like they need to improve the in-house communication with respect to what couples request and what is actually doable so that (a) couples aren't left disappointed; and (b) workers aren't put in a position of performing tasks that might not actually be feasible. Chef Jonathan and Tyrone were absolutely incredible every step of the way and our guests loved the food. My husband's aunt, who is apparently very picky and doesn't shy away from telling you exactly how she feels, only had positive things to say about our wedding, so that's saying a lot! Context is important. Small wedding + springtime + only wedding that day + couple that didn't have any major requests = a huge success. It really saddens me to hear about the hiccups in other people's weddings and I feel very fortunate that nothing along those lines happened the day of our wedding. If you're debating whether or not to get married here, I think it helps to start with some self-reflection on what your vision for your wedding is and who you are as a couple. Booking a venue with some growing pains, as someone else put it, can be risky and you need to be prepared for that every step of the way. If the thought of it gives you anxiety from the very beginning, then maybe you should find a place a little more established that specializes only in weddings. Based on our vision and budget, I honestly don't think any other venue out there could've topped the wedding The Art Factory gave us, it was uniquely special and out of this world.

We visited the Art Factory in January 2019. David, the owner, and Chefs Jonathan and Ty totally sold us on the space. So much in fact that we booked that same day. Since the booking however, we were constantly disappointed by the lack of commun...
ication. As our messages on Basecamp—their main method of communication—went unanswered, we were left wondering if we would actually get what we were promised. The only way we could elicit a response on Basecamp was to personally text David. During our décor meeting, no one from the venue was taking any notes. Donata—in charge of decor—had to point out to Justin—one of the coordinators—that he wasn’t taking any notes to which he replied that he’ll remember everything. Thankfully, our day-of-coordinator, Christina had written everything down and passed it on to them. Three days before the wedding, as we were dropping off our alcohol, we were told that our ceremony space was under construction and that we might not be able to get married in that space. We were crushed but also livid that no one bothered to tell us. They painted the walls “maroon” but also looked like a very dark brown depending on the lighting, and they were in the process of renovating the bathrooms. We were told that there was another space available for our ceremony—a smaller room with multiple metal beams down the center of the room. It totally did not fit in with our vision of how we would walk down the aisle. Not to mention our florist had down a walkthrough with us previously and we ordered flowers to decorate the space we were promised. We were able to have the ceremony in the space we were originally promised but the color of the walls definitely changed how we felt about the space. During our initial meeting, the chefs sold us on their idea of the non-traditional catering and the food we sampled was delicious. It was obvious to us from that meeting that we would go with the in-house catering. The inconsistent information and the lack of communication was an issue with the chefs as well. We were first told that they didn’t do a cocktail hour but was later told by Donata that they did, and was advised by Donata that we should do cocktail hour. We had to call Jonathan over to our décor meeting to discuss our menu to squeeze in a cocktail hour. A few days before the wedding, we get a message from Jonathan asking us what we had decided for our late night menu. This is after we had our tasting and had finalized our menu. And although we had decided on tapas, the day of our wedding, as I’m getting ready, Christina had to ask me if we’re doing tapas or family style because the chefs are preparing the food family style! I will say most of the food was really good but were also not given everything that was promised. Ultimately, the Art Factory is a beautiful space but the management here is awful. There is no communication what-so-ever. What really saved our wedding was the fact that we had a wonderful day-of-coordinator, Christina from Events Made Golden, and Noel and Jackie at the Art Factory. Noel and Jackie were always honest with us and actually delivered on their promises. I would tread with caution and definitely hire a day-of-coordinator if you plan on choosing this place.

rything perfect. He really helped to make our day so special. All of the staff are clearly dedicated and work tirelessly. Chef Jonathan is incredible and helped us create a tapas menu that reflected different dates we have been on. The food was amazing, came out quickly and the waitstaff was incredibly friendly and lead confidently by the wonderful Noel. I was frustrated with David and Donata’s communication. I felt from the first meeting we were promised many things that changed from the booking date to the day of our wedding. We were told originally we would be the only wedding that day but as they grew in popularity there was a wedding scheduled at the same time. Planning long-distance has its challenges but I gladly made the drive to the Art Factory 4 times before our wedding and met with different people every time. Often I had to ask questions multiple times or received no answer via Basecamp App. It was stressful going over details that had been previously addressed the day before our wedding. We were also led to believe our ceremony would be held in one place but at the rehearsal, we were directed to an entirely different room. The process could be improved with a more formal checklist and assigning just one staff member to communicate with from the beginning. They can work on their communication and professionalism, but overall our wedding day was wonderful.

I had my wedding here on 7/6/19.. as a warning to all my future brides out there, stay away from the art factory. They lack management, so everything is disorganized. They will promise you everything, but then swiftly forget it as if those deta...
ils are not important to you. They lack communication skills and instead of trying to work together to make their client happy they point fingers at one another. The following items went wrong: - my ceremony room was changed 3 times! Which was upsetting because the ceremony room was the main reason why we booked. - my guests were waiting in the dark at cocktail hour - poor AC throughout the venue - floor and areas were dirty and poorly kept - although a detailed schedule was given, it was not followed. - bathrooms were dirty and hot - during prep, a table in my fiancé’s bridal room collapsed staining her dress - food came out at random times - tables were not cleaned promptly - key design aspects that I was promised were not included, even after repeating them 10 times - bartenders starting leaving at 11pm, a time that I never specified. My reception ended at 12. - the power shut off 3 times, stopping the music for my guests - when time to cut the cake, there were no servers around to assist, as I requested. - No one was around to assist us at the end of the night, as promised. We did not leave until 3am because we needed to pack up all the alcohol left. When I complained about the above items, one of the owners, Donata, told me that this was a “perfect wedding” and that I needed to speak to other people about these problems. I waited for the others for an hour, no one showed. When I spoke to Donata again she mentioned to me that I was only complaining because I had “other motives”.. basically saying I did not have the means to pay for the wedding. As a client this was unacceptable, and the art factory should have owned up to and fixed their mistakes instead of pointing fingers at each other. The other owner, David was no where to be found, and when I spoke to him previously about issues he was not empathetic at all. A special thanks to my bridesmaids, bridesmen and family who helped keep my wedding together, because without them I’m not sure if anything would have went right. Additionally the only people who did help after the wedding, from the art factory were Chef Jonathan and Tyrone. The art factory caused me so much stress and disappointment on my wedding day. All the decoration in the world cannot compensate for that. Stay away!!

I do not recommend The Art Factory for weddings! To start off I want to say I’m not one to take time out of my day to write reviews but The Art Factory ruined my expectations for a dream wedding and so I am sitting on a plane for my honeymoon...
writing this lengthy review to warn future brides of the headaches they are going to experience. We were sold a dream but given the exact opposite. With that being said, be prepared to settle for less and raise hell on your big day ladies and gentlemen! Get Drunk and make the best of it, otherwise it’ll all be for nothing! There came a moment when I had to accept that this wasn’t going to be all that I was promised or asked for. I found myself constantly repeating all of the details for my big day every time I visited the venue, even after our meetings and pic/file uploaded to the factory’s form of communication (basecamp). This app was not being utilized properly and the lack of communication and organization made me feel like I was playing a game of telephone. No one seemed to ever know what our wishes were and things were still being corrected just minutes before the wedding, including but not limited to our names being spelled wrong on the signs directing our guests. When mentioning ideas and planning, we always got answers like “yes,” “ofcourse,” “definitely,” “We can do what ever you want,” “yes, we’ll have that ready for you” and a ton of head nods yes. With months of planning and preparation, you gather a lot of ideas and nail down a unlimited amount of details; it is nearly Impossible to go back over ever single detail from scratch because someone wasn’t doing their job. It was the week of the wedding when I got told they were changing our ceremony room, the most important part of our wedding and the reason we fell in love with the place. They then promised us another room before changing it for a second time just days before the wedding! Making us go thru the heartbreak and disappointment all over again. •Cheap table in bridal room collapsed & coffee flew all over the floor & bottom of my dress. A server dropped off a mop to my door for ME (the bride) to clean it up! •My bridesmaids dresses as well as my wedding gown were black within the hour from the floors being so filthy. Yes it is a factory, but it is also being utilized as a wedding venue & should be treated like one •Ceremony room lights were off for about 30 minutes •Different bridal sweets than promised & poorly conditioned •Ham, cheese & grapes with dressing on the side as “hor’dervs” •The Trolleys stopped running, therefore my guests walked in pouring rain •Bartenders were drunk & lacked professionalism •Servers let the food get cold before serving our guests. •All of the lights were connected to the same power strips & had no way of being dimmed. David, the owner began unscrewing lightbulbs from the center pieces above the tables. While I appreciate the effort, this began to raise a lot of eye brows •The bathrooms were filthy & had no one attending them, there were leaks from the ceiling wetting all of the counter tops •Countless errors in preparation and scheduling •Guest did not know where to go & we’re not lead accordingly •Venue did not have enough drapes to cater to both weddings; it seems as though the second wedding had first priority over our! •They will tell you the venue will be ready a week before to give you time to walk through & make sure everything is up to par, lies Character limit cut me short !

I recently held my wedding at the Art Factory in May 2019. My now wife and I locked down the facility in early 2018 and spent the next year and a half mapping out our wedding. My wife spent months putting together a comprehensive document detai...
ling the decor for both the ceremony and reception that spelled out how we wanted everything to look, be positioned, etc as clear as can be. Throughout the planning process we had numerous instances that gave us pause and concern about the Art Factory’s ability to pull off our requests ranging from decor, to food and staffing. Not to mention that half way through the process we learned second hand there would be another wedding the same exact day as ours. We were constantly reassured by the Art Factory whenever we raised our concerns that they were more than capable of handling our worries. As you will read below what we were told was far from the truth. I do want to note that there were things the Art Factory did get right. Many of our guests have told us what a beautiful and unique venue the Art Factory was for our wedding and it’s true. While the team there did not get everything correct with our decor despite us pointing out issues numerous times, even up to the day of the wedding, they still did a great job meeting a large portion of our requests in making our vision a reality. The problem really lies with The Art Factory’s inability to follow through with promises made. For example, two days before our wedding as my wife and I were dropping off decorations, Dave pulled us aside, cracked open a bottle of wine and told us to let him know what he and his team needed to fix. So we did. When we came back the following day and asked one of his employees if Dave had given him our list of complaints, he stared at us in the face and simply replied, “No.” That’s just one example of a frequent pattern of behavior. When it came to the big day, a number of our concerns that we had raised multiple times in personal conversations, e-mails or Basecamp messages were simply either forgotten or ignored. We spent far too much time throughout the day running around with Kim our wedding coordinator, whom we hired out of concern about the Art Factory’s ability to meet all of our requests, trying to problem solve issues to fully enjoy our wedding. Below are just some of the issues that came up on our wedding day: -No wooden welcome sign was made as we had previously discussed. Kim made the staff aware it was missing when she arrived around 1pm so there was time to rectify. When she asked about where the wooden sign was she was told by a staff member that it was never discussed. It was on PAGE ONE of the Reception Decor document we prepared for the Art Factory team and a mock up version had previously been shown to us. -There was no staff at the front entrance to greet and direct the guests until Kim asked Donata to send someone there. Even after someone arrived, there was still confusion about where to send all the guests from our wedding and the other wedding taking place. -There were no passed hor d'oeuvres served during cocktail hour as we had discussed MULTIPLE times with the chef and staff. All that was put out for our guests was a large plate of rolled meats. -The menu we discussed numerous times and mapped was not fully executed. For example the vegetarian dish was something completely different. -There was not enough food for the main entree and guests complained to us after the wedding that they left hungry despite us being told by the chef that our guests would leave “stuffed.” -The pasta course we had discussed to be served prior to entree was not served until about 10-10:30 pm. Pasta was still being prepared in the kitchen when Kim was leaving at 10:30 pm after everyone was up dancing and done eating. -We discussed NUMEROUS times how we wanted to do a family style serving. The kitchen staff thought we were doing tapas style, which was what the other couple had chosen for their wedding, and some plates were served to some of our guests. -Dinner was supposed to be out at 8. The first item didn’t come out until about 9:20 pm. Kim spoke to the Art Factory multiple times about the service timeline and how we wanted the food to be served right after salad so guests could focus on dancing and having a good time. -When issues started to arise with the food service and Kim was trying to find someone from the Art Factory to rectify these problems it was difficult to track anyone down. -Kim asked numerous times for my wife and I to be served first and the chef kept making guest trays. We did not eat until after everyone was served. -The leftover portion of our wedding cake was not packed up as Kim had asked someone to do multiple times. It’s now gone forever. -We unfortunately left our photo booth Polaroid cameras and extra film when we wrapped up at the end of the night. When we came back the next day to pick up our items we realized they had been taken and no one knew where they were. After the smoke has settled my wife and I have discussed multiple times that if we were to do this process all over, if we would choose the Art Factory again? We could not give an answer. While the early pictures we’ve seen look stunning and our guests were in awe of the venue, the headaches and stress we dealt with in the year and a half leading up to the wedding and on the day of were not something we would want to go through again. I spoke with Dave following the wedding about some sort of restitution for everything we dealt with because as I told him, it left a stain on what was one of the biggest occasions of our lives. He was apologetic and did take action to try and make amends. At the end of the day the staff was too small, stretched too thin, not properly prepared, or just simply didn’t care about what we wanted. I’ve been told by my friends who are getting married at the Art Factory in the fall that since our wedding a professional wedding planner has been brought on. Hopefully this will help future couples getting married there from suffering the same kind of headaches we suffered.

I had a very specific contract that had to be constantly brought up. My wedding coordinator that We had hired outside to make sure they did what they where suppose to be doing was to busy doing there job and not focusing on her own job. We had a leak in the ceiling of the bridal sweet which We asked multiple times to come fix & never came. We had no power serges so I had to climb on chairs to plug in hair/ makeup plugs. We had birds flying around our ceremony space. The food came out cold and slow. Not the chefs fault, it was solely due to the fact that the art factory was extremely understaffed and we had about 10 servers when we where promised 1 server per 8 people. My cocktail hour was ruined because we had no food. They dropped a whole charcuterie board in front of my family. We where suppose to have 2 6ft boards filled and it had only the meat we provided that was only suppose to be a add. My reception room was left wide open so no one Used my cocktail space. Our card box was left in an unattended room and not in the reception room like promised and the next day we found out many cards where taken. We now have guests that unfortunately had voided checks cashed. The trolleys provide to send people from the parking lot to our venue broke down, wasn’t coming fast enough, and I had guests walk dressed up and taking Uber’s to make the ceremony in time. We where promised Our handicap guest could park in the lot but they were turned away. My husband had to fight with the security guard to allow his grandfather with Parkinson’s be able to park there. They didn’t set the tables and Chairs the way they Where suppose to which cause my coordinator to have to redo everything & we where still short chairs. After many mishaps before the Wedding even started and then I having people complaining to me about no food, slow service, and the parking it unfortunately caused me to have a massive panic attack and miss my reception. I’m Extremely hurt and sad and have gotten no response from anyone from The venue to try and rectify the issue. They shouldn’t have had two Weddings going on at once, no Kitchen for the chef to actually do his job, parking needed to be fixed, they need more servers to make this happen. We had 4 people, the chefs & 2 designers trying to make a 235 person wedding work is impossible. We paid for vendor meals at same cost and none got any food. I would recommend if your Going to get married be prepared to pay for everything outside to make it work. Don’t let anyone fool you with the beauty and endless promises we believed. It’s beautiful but they are not ready or staffed to through a wedding The way it should have been done. Don’t let the positive comments and reviews Fool you, reason why it worked Was because people hired all outside vendors. Extremely heartbroken!

One of My groomsmen who had their envelope stolen from the event wrote a review on another site and Art factory is disputing it to make them selves look better! How dare they! They lied about handicapped parking as well I had to fight all day about it! On my wedding day I had to handle simple Things like parking for the elderly and sick! It was a cool idea and unfortunately they just can’t deliver maybe in the future when more people’s money and wedding day are stolen from them they will get it right, The cigar bar was to be set up at 9 pm it was set up at cocktail hour. No wine on the tables as requested and trust me I bought enough wine to be set on the tables. My fiancé and I had one day to get married there are no redos on something like this. I wish I could write how great it was but I can’t. The employees who you will interact with chefs and coordinators are great and busted their ass but those hands are tied by lack of support from owner ship! No response. 3 days later I asked for any other available dates and again for more information on inclusive elements. I received only a response on other available dates with a tag that “dates are booking up quickly.” I asked again for more information - payment structure, inclusive details, and what he would need to start contracting. No response for 5 days. I reach out again. No response. My fiancée reaches out. David responds back that he will be in touch that day. 11 days later, I was still waiting for a response. How to begin putting into words my reception experience at the Art Factory? I’ve always known that I wanted something different for my wedding reception, but I couldn’t quite picture what that meant. I knew there were string lights in my vision...
, and I knew that—though many of the banquet halls in the area are lovely—they didn’t quite feel like me. When I stumbled across The Art Factory as a venue option on Wedding Wire, I just HAD to check it out. In fact, I woke my (then) fiancé out of a dead sleep to show him the gorgeous pictures. I immediately let my planner know about the gem I had found, and she gracefully scoped the place out before us. After meeting the owner and sampling the cuisine, she called me to say that I would be insane NOT to have my wedding there, in fact, if she had it to do all over again, she would’ve chosen this venue for her own wedding. With this positive feeling, we didn't wait any longer and scheduled a walk through & tasting the following week. My (then) fiancé was very concerned, even confused about the location—so much so that we took a drive a few days before the meeting to check the area. Of course, a few wrong turns in Paterson and he was ready to cancel the meeting. But that all changed once we set foot inside! Instantly, we encountered this raw, rustic space, beaming with all kinds of history and beauty—unlike anything we’d seen before. And then...we had the food! Chef Jonathan’s culinary works of art (side note: it could be called the Art Factory because of Chef Jonathan alone) solidified that THIS WAS OUR VENUE. He began explaining how he wanted to tell our love story through food. We had no idea what that really meant, but we were all in! Fast forward to the Big Day: That raw, rustic spot we’d initially walked thru was entirely transformed. Every vision I’d had, and so many I couldn’t have imagined came to life within those historical walls. The Cocktail Hour: Our guests arrived in their parking lot away from the venue and took a short trolley ride into the Cocktail hour. They loved it, we loved it! Walking in, our guests were treated to our own art exhibition (where pictures of us and our families were displayed like fine art). Guests were also able to explore the facilities downstairs in their basement area with string lights, upstairs in the art exhibition with hidden rooms, where every section was a picture perfect spot! The Main Reception: When the Cocktail hour was over, our guests were courteously escorted upstairs into the Hamilton room and to their surprise, it was even more gorgeous than the Art Exhibition. The rustic furniture and decor, with exquisite lighting and acoustics just made the night better and better. OH! AND THE FOOD! Family style place settings of food to fit our Cuban and Puerto Rican backgrounds—plus a couple extra dishes thrown in just because we loved them. It was all phenomenal! Plate after plate came out and each one was somehow better than the last. According to my family, I’ve now “won weddings”, and I have so many people to thank for that, but especially The Art Factory. Thank you for being our diamond in the rough! Special thanks to Chef Johnathan and his professional and courteous staff for providing my guests with the delicious and diverse plates! Also, to Dave and his wife Donata for helping to make our dream wedding come true! Your service offering, attitude, professionalism, execution and pricing were absolutely stellar!

As we began our search for the perfect spot to hold our wedding, The Art Factory seemed to be unique and in line with our interest in history and art so we met with David Garsia at The Art Factory in Paterson and toured a raw space with really ...
neat elements, e.g. natural rock, vintage buildings, and an openness to allow for our own personal touches. On the big day, we were given a point person to stay with us throughout the day who proved to be a great help. The folks on-site really made it easy to coordinate all of the moving parts and never feel like it was spinning out of control. Our ceremony took place in the Mountain Vault with our guests entering from outside down a romantically lit and acoustically sound passageway serenaded by a guitarist into the Vault that had been turned into an undersea adventure with jellyfish hanging from the ceiling and lighting to represent anemone upon the walls. Pews and red upholstered benches were provided that were stylish and appropriate to the occasion. Our reception moved upstairs to a larger space that was also molded to our decorator's vision with paper lanterns of white above. Rustic wooden factory tables were provided for the caterers and added a nice connection between the venue and the food and allowed for easy movement as needed. Plenty of floor space allowed for areas for a photo shoot area, dining, bar, DJ, and dancing for just under 100 guests. I couldn't be more pleased with how our day at The Art Factory transpired. Almost four years later, friends comment they thought it was one of the most fun and unique weddings they had ever attended. The Art Factory was perfect for us and allowed us to express our personalities. I highly recommend The Art Factory for anyone looking to have a unique event in a beautiful space working with amazing people.
