Full ceremony and reception experiences incorporate four of our versatile open spaces with the beautiful antique elevator and stairwell allowing for an effortless and interactive transition between ceremony, cocktails, reception, and dance floor – a perfect fit for weddings of up to 150 guests. Each floor can adapt to match a variety of themes, from DIY elopement celebrations to rustic farm tables. We’ve taken care of all the functional details, with available sound system, bar areas, as well as dimming lights, and rustic decor elements. All furniture (ceremony chairs, reception tables, etc.) will need to be coordinated through your wedding planner, and rented from a rental company. The building: this masterpiece on the block of 9th and F street was designed and built in 1890 by Glenn Brown, and originally served as the home of the National Union Fire Insurance Company. In more recent history, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, and is a contributing property to the Downtown Historic District. It served as LivingSocial’s “experience” building after it’s renovation in 2013, and is one of the only dedicated historic event and wedding venues in Washington, DC.

Built in 1927, Woodend Mansion was designed by the renowned architect John Russell Pope, who also designed the Jefferson Memorial and the National Archives Building. Environmentally conscious couples enjoy this venue’s commitment to nature and wildlife preservation. Your ceremony can be held in the tree-lined Hemlock Grove or in the complimentary climate-controlled tented terrace adjacent to the manor. You and your guests will be able to enjoy the interior of the manor with beautiful wood floors, perfect for dance. Please note that dance is only permitted inside the mansion .Your event will also benefit from plenty of complimentary on-site parking. Couples love Woodend's staging areas, which can accommodate large wedding parties.
